I was doing my daily assignment last night and I had to go to Avalon to complete it. I am max level 170 and have completed every quest in the game including side quests. My quest log is blank but out of curiosity I opened it and clicked on "Find Nearby Quests" and I got a quest to talk to some npc in Dun Dara and they sent me to Polaris to speak with them there and now I have the quest to collect animus from three Gulag Guards in Urville Station. They are classified as polar bears so I used the "Extract Polar Bear" monstrology card and fought the fight 4-5 times with a total of 8-10 guards and I did not collect any animus from them. They are Death school so I tried using "Extract Undead" a couple times and still did not collect any animus. What am I doing wrong?

Your monstro level has to be the same rank or higher to extract them. So that's why you gotta level up. (Extract Polar Bear Is Correct)

@@DaRealAlmondI was going to ask what the point is of ranking up your monstrology until I saw this now it makes total sense why you’re going from world to world instead of fighting the same mobs a million times, thank you for explaining!
