People that want marriage need to let the other person know of that goal UP FRONT. Instead they "go with the flow", enjoy the moment and shy away from discussing what they want out of fear of losing the other person. Putting off important discussions usually bites them in the butt eventually.

My mom is an ordained minister and it feels like every week she’s counseling a woman who is 45 or older and miserable in her marriage because she settled down before she was ready, or the chemistry wasn’t right from the very beginning or there were other red flags she chose to ignore all because she felt pressured to get married because her husband was considered “a good man”. If Lori wasn’t ready she did the right thing by walking away. She’ll find the right man one day if that’s something she wants.

Yes indeed! I have a 27 yo grandson who is a college grad with a decent job..no kids. I preach to him about choices and not rushing into things. He also has a good step father who helped to guide him.

After seeing so many other couples go through it, I've basically learned not to have kids within the first 3 years of a relationship. Without fail, by year 3 most young couples have broken up, smh.

My theory from the beginning was that it was a publicity stunt to overshadow the flack he was catching for dating White women from his largely Black female fanbase. The heat was on from 2018 forward, so it's interesting that they started dating before the release of his film project, Without Remorse in April 2021. That cashflow hits differently when your fans don't support you. It's standard procedure in Hollywood to do whatever it takes to keep your fans spending--have a baby, get divorce or married, involve the police and court system, get arrested, so on and so on and so on.

Either they are not compatible, never were a real couple or there were other issues in the relationship that made her question it and she didn’t wanna end up in an unhappy marriage. I’ve not seen many women in their mid 20s who will walk away from a “good relationship” with a “great guy” because she wants to play the field more?! Unless she’s a woman who doesn’t see marriage and kids in her future which is kind of believable and honestly nothing wrong with that.

There is pattern forming and that Black men and women are not operating within dating rules and values. They are not dating with any since of commitment. For example, Don’t date unless you are seriously considering marriage. Never long term date no one, you are just wasting your years with someone that is using you; financially or for your body. Only date short term, learning one another to see if you both have the same values in life, if not, terminate the date and give someone a chance. Never have sex when dating only in marriage. Women should never date a man unless she has wife skills and seeking marriage. Men should never date a woman unless he has husband and parenting skills. He should be mentally, emotionally, and financially ready to take care of a family. A woman should check a man’s background to see if he has babies that he hasn’t disclosed. Bottomline the Black Community needs to operate under Christian values and the elders in the community must take responsibility and encourage those values. We as a community must start shaming our people when they break the values. There seem to be no shame when operating immortally.

And when it comes down to it the married couple divorce because they didn’t date each other long enough to know what they did and didn’t like and they didn’t reveal who they truly were or ignored the red flags ect. There is a lot of males and some females who are coming out of marriage and changing their genders after being married for years some even decades. So I agree people shouldn’t date for too long but dating for 1 to 2 years before marriage should be done and if it goes beyond 5 years (if they are under 30) it should be broken off. If they are over 30 and dating more than 2 years and no marriage they should separate unless they agree not to get married.
But in those 2 years of dating the male and female should really be vetting and getting to know them deeply and looking into their mental maturity, coping skills, communication skills, morals and values. Background and if they’ve healed and grown from relationships and setbacks

Problem we have here in the Black Community is we have no accountability, older women don’t care to teach or advise the younger women on the true feminine values; how to pick a mate based on his character and resources. Older men need to take accountability for the younger and teach them masculine values; what to look for in a woman, how to be a husband, and a father. This system caused us to lose our moral values and now we must restore them. Without values we are broken that’s including the males and females. We cannot hold a long term relationship without values and a sense of commitment.
