At 9:40, I would have not called batters interference, by rule, batters interference is a judgement interpretation by the umpire. It’s actually a smart move by the batter. He didn’t lean over the plate and he swung at a quirky time before the catcher went into his throwing motion. In real time, that’s a tough call. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, you see something that is a heads up move by the batter. Wonder what other people’s thoughts are on that... By the way: Love the content! Keep it up!
Thank you for your comment! The question we would ask though is…is the batter making a legitimate attempt to swing at a pitch? Like you said he swung at a “quirky” time which by rule could mean that he hindered or impeded the catcher’s vision. Yes the catcher got off a clean throw, but without the swing you could argue that he could have made a better throw. But like you mentioned also, in real game speed that’s a tough call to make.
@@BlackCobraMediaTVDon’t disagree with your outlook at all! I played baseball all the way through college, and I’ve been coaching high school ball the last six years, and I can honestly say I have never seen that particular situation happen…. I’ve seen fake bunt steals executed very well, and the batter has to pull back at the right time, that’s what I would compare this situation to. I showed the clip to my buddy who umpires high school ball here in Missouri, and he had a similar take as you did. And he also mentioned that it’s a judgment call by the umpire.. How did the crowd/coaches react at the game? Was the team in the field pleading/making a case for batters interference?
@@GoCowboysDal4 definitely a judgement call by the umpire, and like we mentioned it's one that is tough to make in real speed. And nobody said anything about it. Everyone assumed that it was just a swing and a miss.
Fun fact. I hit the first home run in Woodstock history at Cheokee in 1997. I also hit the second home run at Walton which was a grand slam. Oh btw my brother is Nick. He went there too.
@@cashstephenson8 I agree with the chirping and getting loud for your teammates. That’s just baseball but the coordinated softball cheerleader chants erk me
Was it me or were did Woodstock have some automatic outs during the game or was that just your editing of the video? I swear there was a strikeout with 1 out showing, but the inning was over after it.
HS baseball is much bigger in Metro Atlanta/ and Georgia than I think anywhere else in the country. The facilities and atmosphere seems second to none. BCM, what is the price range that Varsity and JV umps get paid per game in the Atlanta area ? I live in the DC area and have thought about relocating to the ATL as the COL is much better
Already a completely different game then when I graduated hs 10 years ago. Pitchers selling out for high velo’s instead of placement, while hitters going for flashy exit velos rather than simplifying ABs
@@TWolfyG you don’t get runners by taking strike one and strike two right down the middle and then flail at a pitch away and hit a 7 hopper. That’s the 1980-1990 approach to baseball. Pitchers are taught to get ahead SBF most of the time that’s with fastballs. So let’s stand there and take them and watch our chances of getting a hit drop by 100 points each strike. 👍🏽
@@DuddyToh3 Taking a strike is very common in baseball while trailing in the last inning. Obviously they don’t it to be a strike but you don’t always get that lucky. And if everyone knew what pitch was coming I’m sure they’d hit a lot better lol.

Very good game to watch👍
Thanks for watching🐍

That is a very fun fact Dennis😀
Pickens got them Wizard of Oz unis
coach got drip though 19:57
you like the unis or nah? HAHA
That was a really good game
pickens #24 rocking the NMD's love to see it lmao
Only way to go frrr
The chanting in the background would drive me nuts!
It just adds a little flavor to the game. Without it the game would honestly be quite boring😂
Call me old school but the softball style chanting from the dugouts is so annoying. That would warrant a few hbp, back in my day lmao
You’re soft minded
we think it adds some extra flavor to the game 😀
You’re probably like 15 huh?@@EthanBooth-oj1cu
I’m all for cheering on teammates and being loud but the cheers remind me of youth ball

Watch the fastballs down the middle swing at the sliders in the dirt. Must be verbal d1 commitments.
Thanks for your comment Eric!
It's baseball bro, if they could perfectly select each pitch they were going to swing at they'd all be 1st rounders...
aaron nola 2.0 on the mound
7:08 this is part of the reason why i HATE playing on turf 😭poor guy

Stop. This is ridiculous
Great Video thank you!
High school kids back then swung off balance to
18:01 that coach came close to interfering with his own runner...
Yes its should been batter interference...or at the least CALL strike for swing and miss!
They did get the strike for the swing and miss.
Hopefully Pickens can bounce back against fort Payne
They’ve got a good squad! Should be a fun season following them😀
Another banger! I appreciate that you include the player's profiles. Those green on green pin stripe uniforms are just gross 🤮🤮🤮
Blu calling everything
Yeah that’s batters interference, because I’m they didn’t call it a strike on the swing. I’m arguing that if I’m the coach
They actually did call it a strike on the swing. It was just a late call.
Starters velo?
He was sitting 90-92!
@@BlackCobraMediaTV thanks! Could you put the pitchers avg velo when they take the mound? Could be a great addition!

They sound like clowns and you sure don’t see pro’s doing it
These kids aren’t pros. They’re still in HS.
Worst hitting approach possible in the bottom of 7 nobody wanted to hit 🥴
they are taking a strike to try and get some runners...
