You called it on the price, might be worth it on discount but not worth the €190 they are looking for it

I recently discovered decathlons apparel and I'm quite annoyed I left so much money at Nike while the stuff at Decathlon is just as good and about half the price.

It's great to see someone else try to take on the big budget boys, but this seems to be a work in progress. The problem is Nike and Adidas spend fortunes to ensure they make brilliant shoes and it's hard for the upstarts to be able to get a foothold. I'm sticking with Takumi Sen, but certainly not adverse to Kiprun in future.

extra rubber on the sole adds plenty to its value. the miles from some super shoes are very low.like 1.5 quid a mile low.

  • @Pipppetto

The real problem is, at least in my country, Decathlon only sells crappy-super low budget running shoes in stores.
These ones are available on paper (website maybe..), and you can't try them unless you order one pair and eventually return them if don't fit; pretty frustrating and time consuming.
I'd better spend few bucks more and get proven brands I trust, hopefully with a discount code and/or outlet price...

I bought the first one, kd900x, to see what it was like, little cushioning or bounce, more a 5k/10k shoe, tbh I haven't used it much although did get5k & 4 mike pbs in them.
Guessing they've had to make some compromises to keep the cost down, will keep an eye out when I'm in Decathlon for any I can try on.
Is the low heel thing like the NB 1080 v11? That had a low heel cushion/pad on it that seemed odd at first but got used to it pretty quick

For a while, Decathlon tried to infiltrate the USA in a town near me, Emeryville. There were sent packing back to Europa after maybe a year. The running shoes they had at the time were unimpressive at best, but the other running gear was decent, especially the clothes. Decathlon is puzzling; they copy and improve clothes and gear, but the running shoes are always falling short.

I’ve got a pair of the original Kiprun KD900X from when they launched them around 2 years ago.
I bought them purely for curiosity with zero expectations.
For the money I thought they were perfectly good BUT the big problem I have with them is how high they are around the ankle, especially at the sides. After any run in them I have a lot of pain and abrasion around the ankles.
At some point I plan to perform surgery on the shoe and see if I can improve things.
