JULY 2013 TOUR. You can tell by Dave's youthful voice and camera :) Excellent visit then and now. Thanks.

Awesome tour. Been past this facility many times before. Now I know what goes on in there.

@EEVdiscover looks like public complaints are more effective than calling Google support :D
    Welcome to your new channel

Dave should have hauled off the entire TV transmitter to build a synchrotron.

What a great Video.......many thanks to the project team for give Dave and ultimately us, access to the site.......it makes the facilities use much clearer now, and I for one can see the value in having such places available to those that need them.....worth the money invested for sure.

One picometer. In perspective the bond distance in a hydrogen molecule is about 77 picometers. That is quite incredible.

great video! I have questions but it sure answered a lot of questions I would have had like what exactly is a synchrotron. Would have liked to have seen how exactly they drive those big electromagnets. might have to look that up

"Mate - we shave a TEEEEEEENY TINY bit of hair off a koala, mate.
Then we tape that bit of hair onto the front of a '73 HQ Holden, mate.
Gotta be painted red, have white seats and have a tape of "Eagle Rock", mate.
Then we *fire up the old V8* and send the HQ at about Warp feeeefty seeeks towards a hoofing great ROCK a mile down the road. mate.
Then we sift through the bits and see what we find, mate........"
    Cheers from NZ, mate...... ;)

wait is this like a headron colider / particle accelerator thing?
3:33 AND THen it spirals out and you smash it into the target aka david judd (the mad he was pointing to)
wait this video ws published 1 day after my birthday ... thankyou dave for my birthday gift

Okay wait, lost in time. 😖Gotta retract my star steps to figure out how did I land here...? 😆
Sooo... wait first Neil said walked up to Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar. Then Subrahmanyan said take this science portal into The Members of the Academy in 1667 with Louis XIV. Then King Louis showed me a photo of their future. I crawled down into his photo of the Australian Synchrotron, where I fell into another time portal from his future, but 6 years old from mine. Then I pressed a red play button....whew...okay got it now....Geaux!
FYI: Neil brought me here. ❤

Instructional video. Well done. However I would recommend you add a stabilizer to your camera. Sometimes I pause the video to read what is written and it is blurred by the movement of your camera.

Klystrons of the type used in these accelerators are now a lot more accessible, thanks to a joint venture between SLAC and Eimac/CPI which put them into regular production for the first time last year.
I'm surprised they haven't gone to better scopes...but then this is a working lab!
