    Therefore, this tool provides you with the ability to select the X threads that are exclusively dedicated to each respective process, such as a game, and are not utilized by the system. • @Savitarax
      @Savitarax  Год назад +6

      yeah the best way I can word it is:
      1: Reduces context switching/polling that process lasso wastes cpu cycles doing.
      2: Reduces hybrid architectural flaws to a much finer degree than intel or AMD's implementations, because it works on a global level even on protected services. Which intels thread director does not understand. Which can sometimes cripple performance.
      3: Provides a simple solution to the core 0 clogging that happens because windows doesn't understand that latency is worsened when everything is scheduled on 1 core.

    What I've been wondering for a while is if you could take an Intel 12/13/14th gen, disable the P cores, then use process lasso to assign all every day to day operation system processes and programs (inc browsers) to e-cores. Then re-enable the P cores, and have them only be used for the heavy cpu programs.
    Good to know this can probably be done. (Not that I will be going intel in my next system, it will probably be a 7800x3d, lol).

    • @Summanis
      @Summanis Год назад

      This is basically what this video shows. If you use the app shown and select all your P-cores, your OS will schedule NOTHING on them (after reboot) unless you assign CPU affinity in process lasso. With only 4 e-cores on my 12700k it makes my system super sluggish. Might work better with more e-cores but I wouldn't recommend for 4 e-core systems.

      The tweak actually causes a stuttering issue when it mixes reserved and non-reserved threads. CS2, the game in question, automatically detects and attempts to use all available cores in your system, regardless of their affinity settings. For instance, it might try to use 16 cores, even if your affinity settings only allow for 8. This mismatch is what leads to stuttering. To address this, you should specify the exact number of cores you want the game to use with the command "-threads X", where X is the number of cores aligned with your affinity settings. By doing so, the game will only use the designated cores, which should resolve the stuttering problem and ensure smoother gameplay.

    bruh this tutorial is mad confusing and way too hard to follow, your screen is way different and you didnt explain how to get yours to look like it or what the program even does. Especially at 3:55 where you say "before that" instead of telling us that ebforehand. respectfully bro you gotta work on your walkthroughs

    Savitarax! It's been several months since your last video, your DPC latency optimization has been very helpful to me. I want to ask you two questions: 1. I noticed that your 4090 doesn't generate any interrupts after setting the CPU core affinity, but my 4060ti will generate interrupts (regardless of whether the CPU core affinity is set or not). After I set 4060ti to CPU2, CPU2 receives a lot of interrupts and DPCs from the driver dxgkrnl.sys, but CPU0 still receives a large number of DPCs from the nvidia driver nvlddmkm.sys, which I also feel very strange. 2. How do you achieve a "ISR route execution time" and "DPC route execution time" in LatencyMon that are less than 10us? After completing the optimization, my 'interrupt to process latency' is very low, but the above two projects still have high latency up to 600us.

      I had the same issue as you until I upgraded from a 7600x to 7800x3d

      maybe u did not checked 'IrqPolicySpecifiedProcessors' under Advanced... settings in Interrupt-Affinity tool

      @@shummie44 Once you customize the CPU affinity, "IrqPolicySpecifiedProcessors" will be automatically checked in the advanced options

    can you make an in-depth guide of all the stuff you do on process lasso, like what process to put on idle etc. :)
