Wow, I wish a could be as awful at 20 as a young baritone hahaha. Sadly there is nobody alive from great opera singers still singing that could overall perform this role better. This is her signature role and I would bet that she will be remembered after it the same way Callas is after her Tosca. And yes Edita was as good in this role as Callas in Tosca. She was.
Be more respectful. Gruberova sung this fiendish role for almost 30 years and made it her signature. Her portrayal of Elisabeth is by far the most deep and complex of all the others.
