Keep us posted about your knee surgery. I was deer hunting east of Calgary on a rancher's property yesterday. I had my right knee replacement surgery on Mar. 4, 2024. I was walking around the truck getting in and out using the running boards etc. My knee feels good. I love watching your projects as you complete them.
Sometimes you just have to take the time to fix yourself so you can carry on with your plans. Hopefully during recovery you’ll be able to tinker with your trains. That Kaiya is a hoot.
I think the tiny house would have been a good project. Your knees will heal quicker than you think they will. I had both my knees operated on and i was up and in around in a week. Hope you have a quick recovery.
Hi Ken. My wife and I are full-time campground hosts at Georgia State Parks. We have discovered over the past 11 years of hosting that the size camper you are considering for the frame is a great size for folks considering hosting. The ideas for a camper are endless. Having seen the quality of your projects yours is better than any rv manufacturer. Just a thought. Thanks for the wonderful videos. Have a happy Thanksgiving.
Today's Vardo heat install was a "top job". I am looking forward to see the sliding doors. Also, I'm glad you aren't pushing yourself with the tiny house. You need to take care of yourself so you can provide us with more builds in 2025.
All campers have a roof vent. Perhaps you should look into that. Great vid, my brother-in-law built three tiny homes on that same trailer. Worked out well. Lee
I added a shower kit to my bicycle touring kit. 1 battery charge easily pumped 50+ gallons water. Won't heat the water though. About a gallon a minute. Handle has a flow adjuster.
If you can't sell that camper frame, you may want to think about holding onto it, and doing a project next year after you recover from your knee surgery.
The bed area in the vardo is looking good! Kaiya sure does love the zoomies! A list of suggested things to build - Another miniature garage A farmhouse table Greenhouse Bookcase Coffee table
Sometimes you have to know when to say when. You have plenty to do. Take care of yourself and get your joints fixed. You have to be able to keep moving and stay strong and healthy for you, and your family. We can wait. Thank you Ken.
That opening 10 seconds was hilarious! 🤣 Never knew about folding toilets, butt now I doo! 😊 I use my thermometer the same way you do, only I have a cat. Great video, Ken! Stay warm!
Build tall cabinets for your tools, on a wheel base to move around, rather than having them hang on a screw on the wall. Heavy tool you could have the shelf slide out
Hey, Ken You better mount that heater pipe to the wall. In a couple of places to keep it from vibrating up and down and tearing, when it's going down the road
Absolutely innovative things for the vardo!! So glad you went with a larger basin, you could also bathe a small child/pet in that, neat!! Your attention to detail is amazing. I like the way your tools have lights for awkward places. Always a pleasure watching your videos!
I'm sure the doctor has explained things already but you will be up and walking on that new knee the same day. Not a lot but enough to get to a bathroom and even navigate a few steps on a staircase. The therapist will do it again the following day before you are released. It's mostly about evaluation to see how you cope and if the rest of the body can compensate till things heal up. By day two at home you can probably work out how to get a cup of coffee by yourself. Within two to three weeks (depending on which knee) if you can get to the car by yourself you can probably drive. Jumping into your truck will take a few more weeks so practice with something smaller. Gotta have items in the home will be a grab handle in the shower and a toilet booster with handles. You will also need help with shoes and socks for a few weeks. My wife was leaving the house with only a cane after three weeks and using a grocery cart for balance in the store. I feel you are in good enough shape to be on that accelerated recovery schedule. Good luck!
Hi Ken, Having had knee replacement surgery at the end of Feb. 23, I can say with some confidence that while you will be able to kneel, it won't be fun. I am currently just short of 21 months out from surgery. Although I can kneel when I have to, I do as little kneeling as I can. So I would suggest that your next project be one that doesn't require much kneeling. Cancelling the 28' build was a good idea. You will be at least three months before you can spend more than a couple of hours on your feet without significant pain/fatigue.
@ 22:36 Kaiya running on the concrete floor reminds me of my Dad getting his Basset Hound to run real fast on a brush finished concrete pad to keep his nails trimmed with out the hassle of holding the dog down, worked very well
Praying for successful surgery and for doctor's steady hands. Please take doctor's advice very seriously. My husband did not and now suffers for it. God's blessings.😢
Ken, you should look up “flyball for dogs”. Kaiya would love it! You wouldn’t have to compete, just build her the angled box that will push a ball at her when she runs down there and hits it.
Good Morning Ken, Are you planning on not doing any more projects after your knee surgery. If not, it's ashamed you're getting rid of the RV Frame. Would have been some great videos. Probably not easy to come by a nice frame like that. Good Luck with the surgeries.
Other than a garage extension. And it’s out for the same reason as the other. It comes down to your knees and recovery time. I’m thinking about you working on your other projects Ken’s Scenic Journeys. This has Seated time built in. Because before surgery driving around, after surgery time to edit. Then before the next surgery on the second knee photo time again. I’m thinking that you might want to do a Northeast Journey. In my mind this might be a 3 or even 5 year project but you have hills, mountains, valleys, coastal, and some fantastic historical places in the New England area. I’m just thinking 🤔 maybe? Edit: You do have a Drone license 🪪
Good Friday morning Ken & Kaiya🐕 Hopefully you will be able to tinker around, and finish the Mobile Vardo Villa 👍🏻✏📐 Have a nice day/weekend Ken, Sandi, Lauren, Chad + Kaiya and the Chicklets🐔🥚Rumor has it that you will be putting in one of these ---->⛳for the Chicklets, since they already have a couple of golfballs🤣✌🏻👣

IDK Ken - you could use a little bit better organization or something... or a yard sale. It would be nice to see you build whatever you need to build to get all your tools and equipment and supplies under a roof and out of the weather... I'd love to see you build your dream shop... but as you put it, the stage of life... it probably isn't the best idea. I like that you did a lot of clean up and organization in the space you have... but there's more to do, isn't there. It's the wise decision - though it would have been nice to see you build another camper.
Wishing you a successful and speedy recover on you upcoming surgeries. Do you know of any holiday gift woodworking small ideas you can show? Also could use some trivet ideas to put our hot holiday dishes on to protect our tables. Are there any seasonal ideas you can show us that won’t tax your new knees?
Ken you are so funny! I love watching your videos, always a surprise! Please keep in touch even if you cant do build videos during your recovering of your knees. Oh that aluminum foil is not going to last! I would think that the black hose should have gone all the way! If there is any movement or storage in that area, Im afraid it will rip for easily!
Good morning Ken, man you should have kept the trailer, infact need 5 .more just like that ,videos for months. Lol have a great day ..p.s. nicely done on the heater, should have just added a BIDET to a nice toilet, it would have been a 2 for one ..shower at the same time you 💩..lol lol 🐊🌴😎

Change directions and take the Vardo on regional/cross country trip. Add a bicycle carrier and take up bike touring.
That would be fun

I see a lot of RV's and Camper trailers parked people buy new with tarps over them getting tire rot. Rest up Ken.

Gooooooooooood morning, Ken! Now you need to do a "hand" craft of some kind during recovery. Model making? Hmmm. lol
My pup keeps me happy, too!
That’s cool
Great video. Hope all your surgeries go well. Thanks Ken!

You should use HVAC foil tape. That tape will unravel cause the glue will melt
Oh. Good to know thanks
Ken, you should look up “flyball for dogs”. Kaiya would love it! You wouldn’t have to compete, just build her the angled box that will push a ball at her when she runs down there and hits it.
