    Wonderful job! It's been many years since I've played this, but it brought back memories of the song and my preparation for the solo performance. I could never get the high C - only ever got it by forcing my myself in unmusical ways and so it would sound horrible, so of course I didn't want to do that for my performance either.
    Well done.

      +Bill Ralens It is actually an original geyer horn.

    • @BillRalens
      @BillRalens 8 лет назад

      +Timothy Bedard Ha ha... I guess I'm really lame at trolling. All brass I was guessing rauch or one of those new lewis deurk horns. I play an old HF Knopf. Did you get the bell cut?

    • @BillRalens
      @BillRalens 8 лет назад

      +Bill Ralens BTW, I studied under Phil Myers in Minneapolis. That guy would eat a whole tray of brownies and drink a 3 liter bottle of coke in one lesson. He was a conn 8d guy but I've been under a lot of teachers who regretted cutting their horns. That's why I asked.

    • @timothybedard
      @timothybedard  8 лет назад +1

      +Bill Ralens Bell was cut when I bought it. I play a lewis now. Also cut bell, I don't think a cut bell really changes the sound. But that is my take.

    • @BillRalens
      @BillRalens 8 лет назад +1

      +Timothy Bedard A few years back, I finished up an MA in horn performance at Julliard. The number of teachers I've had that felt like their classic horns died after getting the bells cut are many. I got my knopf cut I just don't understand what they're talking about. That aside, you performance on the Morceau was great. Geyer then, Lewis now you probably sound the same ;P

    Not an easy piece. My critical perfectionist says its a little brassy & could benefit from some extra finesse of expression but i know what it takes to play this piece so no hard knocks , thanks for playing/sharing! Great job
