    Yamaha are onto something. Back to rawness, no bells and whistles. I went from a bike with rider modes, traction control and all that jazz, only to do a full 180 and ride a bike with a carburettor! Motorcycle soul has gotten off track and this bike seems like it's ignoring the trend. Good for Yamaha.

    Just hit 10,000 miles on mine and it's been so awesome. I had a 1200cc ADV bike before and was worried about going down to a 700 because of couple of longer trips I'll do per year.. It's been fantastic with a couple of mods, and it's 150lbs lighter ☝️

    Did a 3200 km ride to Lofoten in northern parts of Norway this summer and it was surprisingly comfy despite 500-700 km rides a day. On twisty roads it is just awesome. Very low fuel consumption also so 16 litre of fuel is not an issue. My friend had a GS 1250 and we had to refuel at the same time.

    I have the World Raid for a year now. Love it to bits and not thinking of changing it. Couple of things: Yamaha Ride App is absolutely useless; yes it'll track your ride but everything else is very buggy. I have been from TET to Autobahn on it and it handles everything you throw at it with no problem, 10-12 hour days are easy. Brilliant bike. Now if Yamaha sticks a ride-by-wire with cruise control, and/or stick the CP3 in the Tenere frame, that'll be awesome.

    I have the T7 sind this year and I love it. Was in the woods nearby and the biggest problems were not the bike but the rider itself. I really need some more experience.
    I changed the seat and the rear spring and that was a nice improvement. Here and there some little things things changed and I even rode to France this year. I wanted to explore the alps, but because of bad luck I needed to return to home sooner.

      Riding like a dirt bike isn't a plus , unless you are strictly using it in the dirt, in which case you chose the wrong bike for a premium price on top of it lol.

    • @craigdixon439
      @craigdixon439 11 месяцев назад +5

      @@joecamel6835 Why ? I come from a dirtbike racing background, which i've been doing for 47YRS. The T7 is a great all round bike. Goes good on the blacktop, is a great ADV bike and can be used as a big dirtbike. There is nothing wrong with using a T7 for what ever you want, it's a very capable bike in the right hands. You just need the skill to do it i guess. I also have a KTM450EXC. But i prefere the T7. I probably wouldn't race the T7 in hard enduro or motocross, But it'll do it if setup for it. So i'd say riding a T7 like a dirtbike is a plus. That's one of the things it was designed for. Plus taking you wherever you want to go.👍

    Hello Charlie, I have a question please. Maybe a rookie one, apologies. I will get my first bike and after learning on the mt07 and loving the engine but not the restricted position, I tried the T7. I am 183 and fits me really well. The question: with such a large front wheel and quite thin, and so high centre of gravity, is the front bike stable on the UK winter commuting wet roads, with derbies etc? Seems like the front could just slide? The choice was not only because of the size but also because I like outdoors and would love to learn more, but my concern is for normal roads. Thank you so much and beautiful videos

    Fantastic camera work and nice pictures. About the T7 I am not so obsessed as many others. Compering competitions it’s expensive. It was a good bike few years ago, but now it needs to be developed. The saddle is a catastrophe, the bike is top heavy, hard to handle in low speed, and if it falls you are in trouble. The engine is bulletproof but not so powerful in the higher range. I don’t like the concept of Yamaha: selling the spirit of the past for a good amount of money. This bike must be cheaper for a good bargain.

      Had one for 2 years now and totally agree with you, I come from a long enduro back ground and find it's top heavy weight very limiting, also the steering lock is rubbish, I've enjoyed riding it on road but that's about it. I now have a crf 300 rally 👌🏼

      @@chriscooperCRF300 Oh, that’s interesting! I am really curious about your experience with the CRF Rally because it was on my list too. But it is hardly accesible on the market. Has it enough power? 27 hp seems to be a little under powered for street riding.

      @@cybilisation hi buddy, yes the power is a massive drop and if you enjoy overtaking and blasting around then it's not for you, however it is more than happy at 70mph and gets there ok, I live in the UK and have a place in Spain and I would happily ride it there but the magic is as soon as you hit the trails it's unbelievably good, the clutch is light, the bike is easy, you can switch off and enjoy the places you are instead of over concentrating because of the bike you're on, hopefully this helps 👍🏼

    In the real world of adventure riding, 'whatever that marketing gimmick means' there are only two bikes anyone should consider, that is the Tenere, and/or in your mind, if you need more engine capacity/power then the Ducati dessert X fills that role.

  • @LATAMbiker
    @LATAMbiker 11 месяцев назад +1

    I would say that any review should show the negative instead of only positives to give an honest look at the bike. Otherwise it just comes off appearing as a sponsored "fan boy" video. I have one (2022) and have done lots of on and off road on it, including in Colombia. (Live in the USA.).
    Positives: It handles GREAT off road, simple electronics to avoid complicated maintenance problems way from home, easy access to air filter, great wide band power, not too loud, good front suspension, good choice of wheel sizes, low weight for its size.
    Negatives: very top heavy, hard to pick up compared to other mid size bikes, for me anyway- tube wheels, weak rear suspension, small gas tank, seat too high for many people- could have made it adjustable, spark plugs and valves difficult to access, inadequate skid plate. I feel things like the thin skid plate and undersized gas tank were only done to reduce advertised weight.
    I fixed some of these issues. Strapped a fuel bladder on the back seat, bought ($$) Alpina tubeless wheels, lowered the bike with taller dogbones, lowered seat and thick heel boots. (I have a 30" inseam.). I fully realize the unicorn bike doesn't exist, but I don't understand what some of these (what I would call) drawbacks were necessary in the design.

    I choose the also legendary Honda Transalp. Why ? more road confort. Despite I ride a lot with T7's and off road are very good.

    I rented a Tenere 700 for a few days last year. I loved the engine, but did not like a couple things about it. It is rather top heavy, and the suspension was harsh. The seat height was also too high for me. At the end of a few days of riding it, I decided not to buy one.

    Hi Charley, how long do you ride the Tenere 700 now? Talk about your journeys with the T7, not about the Marketing/Media Guidelines. Talk less, RIDE MORE!

    If they got rid of the ABS and other silly electronics junk then I'd pay even more...
    What's ironic about that is that I am a mechatronics engineer.

      You can get a old model with the LCD dash and a ABS delete kit, I just removed the abs fuse on mine.
