Idk about anyone else but Fairy Tail has the best music sound track in the history of animes. I will never love an anime more than this one right here.

Recently, my father started watching anime, and Fairy Tail was one that he picked up, so I've had it on my mind, and have had sort of a Fairy Tail relapse. Although this theme is good in my opinion it will never beat the first one, because that theme was for me kinda soul of the old Fairy Tail. I don't say this one is bad, but i have lived so much with the former theme I can't get to the other one.
Actually the original Naruto soundtrack was written by Toshio Masuda. They switched over to Yasuharu Takanashi(guy who wrote Fairy Tail soundtrack) for Shippuden. Both did a fantastic job :D
I shiver each and every time I first hear this clicking on it. It gives me so much nostalgia and makes me want to watch it all the way through again! Never give up on your hopes and dreams! Treat everyone like family, even if you don't get along. THAT is the message this anime sends. Fairy Tail is #1!
So I am listening to the old and new themes together right this very second. I can confirm the rumors are (mostly) true. There are some sloppy bits here that some post processing could easily clean up and there but overall the two songs do line up almost flawlessly in timing and scope. Now for something really interesting. The "sound" of the mixture changes entirely based on which theme has volume priority. Meaning: When you listen to both and the original theme is louder (I set it to 50% and the YT video to 25%), it sounds ENTIRELY different than when you listen to the new theme at 50% and the OG theme at 25%. When combined, those two songs create two entirely new, majorly epic songs. The only issue is that the new theme is 10 seconds longer but for about 2 minutes and 20 seconds, they sync up perfectly and it's freaking amazing.
It's definitely doable with some editing. I've considered doing very rough copies just for academic purposes (showing that it can be done). I'm no sound engineer but I work with DAWs in my job so I'm not a total noob. There are some parts that are sloppy as hell that tank the theory a lot but particularly the heaven's choir parts in the original with the strings segment of this one match up so well it's difficult to ignore.

The new theme kicks up and backs off about 2 more times than the old theme did (so there's a part where the old theme is still jamming out with the angel chorus while this one is kicking back in), and, again the new one is about 10 seconds longer...but otherwise yeah same style.

I love both themes. Every time I hear them, I see Natsu, Jellal , Gray, Erza and all the others in my imagination. And seeing them all, it reminds me of how beautiful fairy tail is. It is definetly my Favorite anime and I look forward to Fairy Tail's next season!
I love both this and the old theme! The old main them was good for the climax in the battles when Natsu wrecked the villain, but the slow build into this song is good for post battles after FT wins the whole fight.

ahhh the memories of easier times... under the covers in the dead of night- phone in hand watching this anime far later in the night than i should have been awake (all the while panicking about the homework and tests i still needed to study and complete) replaying over and over again the E P I C battles this guild has fought in (mainly natsu a̶n̶d̶ ̶g̶a̶j̶e̶e̶l̶ v. sting and rogue)

I like this. It definitely isn't as good as the original in terms of melody in my opinion, but it does a good enough job of capturing the energy of the series, which is as much as you can ask for really. Also, the music from 1:36 onwards is pretty beautiful

I love both themes. Every time I hear them, I see Natsu, Jellal , Gray, Erza and all the others in my imagination. And seeing them all, it reminds me of how beautiful fairy tail is. It is definetly my Favorite anime and I look forward to Fairy Tail's next season!

I would say that fairy tail has the best soundtracks , themes and openings in my opinion.
I love both this and the old theme! The old main them was good for the climax in the battles when Natsu wrecked the villain, but the slow build into this song is good for post battles after FT wins the whole fight.

I like this. It definitely isn't as good as the original in terms of melody in my opinion, but it does a good enough job of capturing the energy of the series, which is as much as you can ask for really.
Also, the music from 1:36 onwards is pretty beautiful
