Our recent humanitarian aid mission to Gwembe, supported by ActionAid, ActionAid Zambia, CoLaborers Zambia, and CoLaborers International, was a significant step towards alleviating the hardships faced by the communities in the Gwembe valley. This initiative, though a small contribution compared to the vast needs identified in our assessment, embodies our belief that “A Little Push Goes A Long Way.” Focus Areas Our primary focus was on households that are not covered by social cash transfers or any other government support schemes. We targeted: * The differently-abled * Child-headed homes * Widows * The elderly * Women and girls While we continue to emphasize sustainable interventions through capacity-building programs, we also addressed immediate needs to help these communities navigate through hunger and abject poverty exacerbated by drought. Our efforts included: * Providing essential supplies to the most vulnerable households Our Call for Further Assistance 🙏🙏 🙏 Despite our efforts, the needs in Gwembe remain immense. We call for further assistance to: * Expand our water access initiatives * Scale up school feeding programs * Continue capacity-building efforts to ensure long-term sustainability Our journey in Gwembe is a testament to our commitment to making a difference, one step at a time.
