    So helpful in clarifying what Lenin truly is getting at in his writing, many miss the point but this has been very helpful. Many thanks!

    Most American don't realize that the writing of Marx, Engels, et al., are a just a guide. The material and political conditions in other countries are diverse. They have to take these writing and try to problem solve in order to raise class consciousness for a path towards socialism.
    BTW, I hope coalitions can happen among Left Parties in the US. This would help in the struggle against the capitalist class.

    Tbf, we're still battling Kautskyism today, and probably will be until some time after we dismantle and replace the bourgeois state. Great talk tho. Thanks.

      Aqui no Brasil a corrente de pensamento quase que hegemonica na esquerda infelizmente é trotskista, na teoria o kautskismo é diferente o trotskismo mas na pratica seus efeitos são identicos.

      This was the part that stuck out to me the most! The state of the left in the United States closely resembles the Kautskyists in Lenin’s time. Knowing that the state of socialism was so dire 100 years ago and that the proletariat was able to overcome those circumstances gives me hope!

      @@andreibrauner2745We must all be prepared to dedicate our lives to studying marxist theory so that we may turn the developing crisis into a successful revolution. It’s up to us to ensure that the future generations won’t have to fight.

    I'm just here looking for further sources of information. Growing up in America, I have heard the praises of capitalism my whole life, as well as the evils of communism. But now that I'm realizing that western media has been lying to me about pretty much everything, I'm deeply suspicious that perhaps communism is not as evil as I've been led to believe. Can anyone direct me to some online sources that offer a defense of communism, and perhaps some debunking of capitalist propaganda? I've only recently started searching, but it has been surprisingly difficult to find content. One recent video mentioned how communism killed 70 million people in China. Is this actually true? Yes, I'm coming from an ignorant position, but I'm trying to change that. Any help would be appreciated.

      Abraços do Brasil!

      It's true, the USA has force-fed us anti-communist propaganda since the day we're born. If you like video formats, I'd recommend watching channels such as Hakim, Luna Oi, or Marxist Paul. Also, you can see if there's a socialist organization in your area that you can join, such as Party for Socialism and Liberation. Many of them will be more than happy to read and discuss left-wing revolutionary theory!

    I listen to these talks and ask the question every time: "Why do so-called socialist and revolutionaries believe American people are going trade their comfort in this society for some socialist dream?" I cant see any where how or way people will give up their Teslas and lavish apartments for some "other way" of living.

    • @papasquare72
      @papasquare72 7 месяцев назад +2

      They probably won't willingly. But those who own "Teslas and lavish apartments" are a small minority of Americans. The vast majority of Americans would see an improvement in their economic circumstances. Plus I don't think you'd actually have to give that up, unless you owned many apartments or many Teslas.

      It would be helpful to do surveys, asking probing questions. You would more than likely find the average citizens wanting THINGS over freedom.
