It's so true that spray bottles disappear when you need them most, and as soon as you buy a new one, the old one magically reappears. I think my parrot is hiding them from me. And yes, smart plugs are such a life saver! My parrot has a full spectrum light that stays on for 12 hours, and it is so nice not having to worry about turning it on or off. Having it turn off automatically also reminds me that it's time to put her to bed, which is wonderful if you're as forgetful as I am.
I like the list, the only thing that I would add to that is a pair of tongs for feeding. Sometimes it's nice to "hand feed" smaller reptiles with tongs and also for holding rats when feeding snakes. Keep up the content, you're killin it!
I slapped the table and yelled out THANK YOU!! for everyone one of those items, but one I think really should be on that list is a temperature gun thermometer. Again not expensive, only like $20 and you really don't need more than one.

Fun story about gloves: I got a tokay gecko from a guy who wasn’t taking good care of it. and he called me a wuss for bringing a pair of gardening gloves. He changed his tune pretty quick when he reached into the tank and the gecko attempted to rip his fingers off lol
OMG, when we first got a beadie, we discovered that the beardie's poop was pure concentrated evil. I can't believe that such a tiny creature made such a huge get-of-the-room-now smell.
F10 hasn't really been available in the U.S. for months. The veterinary disinfectant chlorhexidine is easily available (Amazon, etc.) and is just as good.
about the dollar store comments... the only Dollar Store i know of that legit has nearly everything for $1 USD, is called Dollar Tree. every other dollar store, Dollar General, Family Dollar, they have stuff like any other grocery store with a wide range of prices.
Digging the intro Adam. Another gem my friend. Totally agree with what you were putting down. We've got a huge bottle of 2% chlorhexidine and it works like gangbusters. Take care my friend 🇺🇸🇨🇦.
The smart plugs are a must! I have some for my aquariums and my beardie. My work schedule is weird and so it's really nice not having to worry about turning the lights on or off at the right time and it helps it stay consistent
This is embarrassing to ask because I own three pet stores, 2 of which are reptile focused. I also have a large collection of ball pythons I am breeding. I can find a lot of bluetooth thermometers (not thermostats), but that's only good if I am home or at the stores, which is frequently not the case. I am trying to find wifi thermometers. Is this a thing? You are so good at finding reasonably priced solutions, hoping you know of something.
Smart plugs ar by far the best investment I’ve made for my fish and reptiles. Not only do they make everything really easy to synchronize, but they also work great as an indicator for weather you have electricity while not at home.
I'm not saying what you are doing is wrong, I just think there should be some clarification. There's a difference between cleaning and disinfecting. I don't know what the bottle says on the F10. Maybe it's a cleaner and disinfectant all in one...but best practice that I was taught as a vet tech is to clean your surfaces first and like you said Dawn and water will do that job fine. Then once the that's rinsed off, you can spray more lightly with the disinfectant. Also disinfectants need contact time, whatever the bottle says. Then wipe that off. Your disinfectant will last longer and you'll use fewer paper towels b/c you're not trying to pick up dirt and dry off the spray at the same time. Disinfectants work less well in the presence of dirt.
I agree with the smart plugs. I love mine! And if you only have one reptile, like me, there are mini mini fridges that can hold a 6 pack of cans. And those you can buy brand new for less than $40 and they come in cute colors lol.
The absolute best thing I ever spent money on for my reptiles, was a 2-ft long pair of feeding tongs. It makes feeding the snakes so much easier and makes me feel much safer and more confident.
Adam, One thing I always have at the top of my list is hand sanitizer... No, not for what your thinking though. I have a giant burm, 14 foot, 130 pounds, and hell on wheels... (Thankfully I haven't gotten grabbed by him yet, but not for his lack of trying!) I also have a few larger carpets and have been locked on before by them... When they don't let go, a little shot in the mouth with the sanitizer works every time... So when we work with the burm, sanitizer is at the top of the list! Love your videos and your charisma! Jeff from Wisconsin
@@WickensWickedReptiles Awesome! I didn't realize mouthwash worked... Thanks Adam! Any chance you can do a video on the "BIG" snakes, but not the bonecrushers? I'm talking carpets! Smart plugs are great, but I usually opt for a mechanical timer switch more often then not because my internet provider can be a mess sometimes and when my smart plugs lose connection because there’s an outage, they don’t cycle properly. Mechanical timer only has an issue when the power goes out, which is a bigger issue overall for reptiles!!

I use a combo temperature and humidity seonsor in my bathroom to automate the exhaust fan when the humidity rises (taking a shower). I see no reason not to put a pair of these in an animals enclosure to regulate the warm side, as well as giving details of the delta between the warm and cool side of an enclosure. Effectivly giving you an on/off thermostat. You could bury them in the substrate, put them on a basking ledge etc and they'll report back to the hub, and control the smart plug with a suitable automation.
