Luv the old gospel songs and enjoy watching them on Jubilee Showcase. Thanks!

I just had the thought that we get to Glory and hear our brother Martin Jacox letting one of those praise shouts as only God created Him to do and we know him immediately🙌 Yes Lord, that's my brother. Thank God for being our Shelter. Those that have gone on and those that prayed for us and who were to come and now are. And now for us to do the same these younger ones and those to come, Be a Shelter Dear Lord Jesus Christ!!

God morning, God bless you, this song brings so many good memories of my childhood. My dad would buy their records and play them. Thank you.

I fondly remember this great Gospel song as a '60s kid! By the way, that was Jessy Dixon, on the organ!

I love Martin Jacox beastly voice. He and Rev. Luther P. Gamble, who also sang with the Soul Stirrers, sounded a lot alike in their singing.
Both of them are now in their eternal rest.

The Soul Stirrers we’re not as successful when they didn’t have a lead that sounded like Sam Cooke. Brother Wilcox certainly was a good singer but he didn’t fit into the Stirrer sound. That’s also why they never did as good when Paul Foster was on the lead. Everybody expected that Sam Cooke vibe because they became synonymous with Sam Cooke.

I would rather have one Paul Foster than two Sam Cookes. I can't speak for others. That's just me.

I think Willie Rogers was the Sam Cooke inspiration while Jacox was the powerful Paul Foster inspiration. Most groups had that duality with lead singers, especially the male groups
