It is such a blessing for me almost 50 years later seeing the man I knew and loved. The man I called uncle Joe. When ever they came to Oakland California they ate at our house. My mother loved her God brother and he loved Delois cooking. Lol Uncle Joe lived doing what he loved best loving God and singing to the world. Amen he will truly be missed. Love you uncle Joe
I saw Mr. Ligon live back in 2014. It was several other artist on the program. Rance Allen, John P Kee Harvey Watkins and the Canton spirituals, Roy and Revelation and some local groups. Mr. Ligon was the oldest and best singer. He wanted to get off the stage and get down with the crowd like he use to but the group wouldn’t let him. He sounded about the same but his body was tired. He definitely sung until the very end. RIP to the best quartet lead singer 💕
I know mr joe had to be feeling pretty bad to have to sit. He said that you don’t retire in singing for the Lord. He changed countless lives and his music is still here for us.
WHEN WERE YOUNG KIDS WE SING THE CLOUDS OF JOY SONGS WITH DAD WHAT AWESOME MEMORY TO SEE MY BROTHER GETTING TO DO THAT WITH THE CLOUDS&MR JOE LAGUN "SOMEONE HE ADMIRED" NOT ONE TIME BUT IF REMEMBER CORRECTLY 3 OR 4 TIMES BUT AS YOU CAN SEE "GREG"WAS REALLY ENJOYING HIMSELF 😃
