Panalong panalo!!! 💜💜💜
Made this for dinner last night and my husband absolutely loved it. Used a combo of beef brisket and beef banana skirt. The latter took 3.5H to soften but it was worth it. I did use the flavorful stock from the boiled beef skirt and I also added 2 bay leaves. Tfs this wonderful recipe, chef!
The red braised beef is from the taiwanese recipe which calls for fresh tomatoes. If its red braised and spicy then that recipe comes from the north and would call for dried red chillis and doubanjiang. But both recipes dont use hoisin. The hoisin in the recipe is only found in the phils as popularized by ling nam noodle parlor. To make it more authentic sir, ad 2 pcs of cinammon bark and 3 pcs of cloves
Tried this today and its awesome. My key take away from this recipe is that I might need to sautee the beef so I can estimate how much water I need since the meat also contains much water too. I had to boil mine for another 30 min to reduce the fluid. None the less, everything's really good. For 1.5kg of meat (sirloin, brisket mix) I used 7 tbsp soy sauce, 6 tbsp for oyster sauce and sugar, 1.5 tbsp hoisin and 180mg tomato sauce.
I enjoy how you use the instant pot chef and just throw the ingredients. I work from home, so I look forward to these throw and forget pressure cooker recipes. Behind the scenes i also cook it from frozen and my pangisa is from ice cubes.
