Omg your video brought me to tears…..I went there as a little girl with my mother, older sister and younger sister as well as my now deceased grandmother. The bridge wasn’t there and the stones where the taínos played at we’re not those but round boulders. Similar to what native Americans have in the USA. And it wasn’t covered in grass but dirt. The river is what made me cry as well as the rocks where they played at. But the river didn’t have the bridge to cross over, at least I don’t remember it. But I do remember running to the river and wanting to get wet. I can’t remember if my mother let us get into the river. My older sister told me that when the people of the museum saw my grandmother they treated her like one of their elders of the Taino tribe. She looked so much like a native indigenous woman. Dark skin tone with also made her look like what Indians are described as red skin. Long black hair. They treated her like a queen. Thank you so much for this. It brought me such good memories about that trip and about my grandmother.

I homeschool my kids & we’re flying to Puerto Rico from Florida to bring my children to learn about their Taino ancestors. Do you recommend any other educational locations to add to our trip? We definitely will be going there also. Thanks for sharing 💚
