Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.
Two great baits to cover the whole water column in any situation. And the fact that they are two meals the bass love .Thanks for sharing .Have a great day Randy be safe.
Always informative and helpful Randy. And the scenery from the boat is inspiring. Need more like this! Good luck with the practice; may all go well, catch hogs, and encounter few boats!
I'm going to be trying that sleeper gill on the flatter banks without much cover early in the morning this week! I've been fishing my sleeper gill more around cover but still haven't been tossing it enough to know what works best.
Love the way those megabass craws look , the poured in weight and hook system keeps the craw from flipping upside down , rolling over in the water , they swim perfectly on the bottom
Considering it's 33 outside, I wish I were there! Tennessee and Kentucky are always three weeks ahead of us. Just die'n to try the hover-rig post spawn on some of my favorite areas. Good Luck & keep us up on your progress.
They are working presently, and I couldn't be happier ☺️ 8 different Lakes in 6 days, smallies and large mouth. Twin and single tail grubs are filling in the blanks for Us lately. Great video , keep um coming.
Randy, got a tournament this weekend in northern Ohio and a cold front is expected to be rolling through. Water temp was 67 on Sunday, on what is considered a dock lake. Can you speak on what fish do when a cold front rolls through during this time of year?
Does anybody know if the plastic on the sleeper craw or the gill is like zman elastech? They seem to be really tough plastic Can I just put it in with my other plastics in my box. I’ve been keeping them in our own clamshell and that’s a hassle.
Does the craw float. I been using the davege gear craws. I like them on a wobble head. They lift off the bottom. I may try dome if these craws. I like the look of them. Thick body
Them GG Shad sleeper gills are so dangerous. I mean danger high level !!! DANGEROUSLY BAD DUDES on a A-Rig when them bass are on shade in 8’ to 15’ foot of water it’s crazy how they do it I had two fish on one about 2 lbs and the other maybe a pound he was small but about 10’ form the boat and big fish about 5 maybe 5 1/2 lbs smoked one and bent the wire company forward and back around my line then around the two wires the other two bass where on and broke the wire off now I had caught a few on that wire already so it was weakened already but they where trying to rip the rig apart 🔥🔥🙏🏼🙏🏼
I’m hesitant to try the Sleeper Gill again because the first one lasted for only three fish before the tail was chewed off. Anyone else had that happen? No doubt it works, but getting a tail bit off a $10 bait by a 12” bass is frustrating.
There are always risks to using soft plastic baits...of course we'd all like them to be more durable....the more durable the plastic equals less action....think about the senko...great action, not much durability.....zman plastic, extremely durable...BUT, really not that great of action compared to the softer plastics like Yamamoto, megabass, googan, and a few others....unfortunately I haven't found any that are durable & great action...
I caught 30 bass in a day on one Sleeper Gill. It still has it’s tail and eyes, but the color coating is about all gone. It’s in rough shape, but I’m a believer.
What's the hook up ratio on these? How weedless/snagless are they? Do they get more bites than a t-rigged craw and if so where's the proof? These baits are $10 each. A pack of 12 craws comes to about fitty cents each plus 4 bucks for a tungsten weight and high quality hook = $4.50 per bait.
Hookup ratio is pretty good. I was skeptical but I've done very good on the craws. I feel they catch fish and bigger fish than ned rigs. Buy a couple...you won't regret it. I started with 2 and now have 10. I've caught over 200 bass and have only lost the claws on 1 bait.
@@jarodwarren8419 Hmm, snagging is a result of exposed hook points or the weight/head getting wedged and thus how or why would something snag on a tree branch or log but not on weeds or rocks?
@@joestrummer9507 True...it's worth buying a couple and seeing for yourself. It has worked for me in 0 to 6ft of water in dark bottom areas here in Michigan. I live on a lake and watch how/what others are fishing. I feel I have caught fish with these when others are not catching much.
Nothing is weedless. Line and eye will catch weeds. As for crafish, you're better of with the cheap Creme than this expensive Megaass. It's basically a jig here with wrong profile, size, weight, design (matured crayfish), etc. Creme's comes in smaller package with a standup jig...right color, profile, size, etc. etc. Heck, the the Sportsman's cheap crayfish plstics are even better than this Megaass Sleeper Craw. Test my theories, then tell me I am fake. The new craws chunks at TW posted today are even better.....Those have the slim profiles and right looks.

On an unrelated note just received my new mega bass Big-M7.5 and I can’t wait to try it. Keep it up.
Those are great baits! Good luck Randy. Don't burn'em
love Megabass Baits! Sleeper Gills are sweet. I just picked up some craws They're nice. Good luck in the tournament
Good information, thank you
I bought 6 of the sleeper Gills in multiplier colors. Have not tried the Bluegill color yet. They look really nice in the water.

Hi Randy, thanks for the video ! How do you decide to use mega bass craw or the zoom craws ? Thanks Randy !
I love your informative videos, could you add some underwater footage to show us how your strategy performs.

why not use a reg crankbait for horizon fishing compsred to a soft pladtic fish imitator,?

Sleeper Gill was money on the bedding fish on Santee Cooper.

They do snag wood easily though. Great for grass and rocks...not wood.

@@jarodwarren8419 If you're fishing from a boat, how are you able to see what other anglers have tied on to the ends of their line? Binoculars? Lol
Or throw a jig which represents both
Sleeper craw is sold out everywhere
Baitwrx has them
Funny how livescopers are so sensitive when having to admit they suck without it lol😂
Let's all pull together and get Missouri to start banning bed fishing or LS.
I’d like to go camping on that bank behind you…
