Gah, out of the 17 Sleeper Craws I ordered, none of em are the muddy copper. Seeing it on here with a little bit of light on it, it looks amazing. I know it's hard to get all the colors to pop in an ad, but obviously CJ did a better job showing the color pop than Megabass did. Time to order a few more when available...😂! In my very limited experience with it so far, spot on assessment! I will say, how weedless it is will depend on where you're fishing it. I can see it getting through sturdier intact weeds without any issue, but for muckier bottoms it's going to pick up some slop. I've already heard people making similar complaints they had with the Sleeper Gill because they assume snagless = weedless.

It’s the smallmouth lure that no one is talking about… poop baits and skirted cubes are on the talk for smallies while the Ned is starting to quiet down but is still a staple.
The sleeper craw for me the past year on Mille Lacs has become the replacement for the Ned to get bigger bites while maintaining close the numbers a Ned can produce. Last fall, we found the smallies wanting the sleeper craw more than the swimbait, jerkbait, and Ned rig which are staples in Lacs. Not only that, our average of fish was higher.
This past spring during the prespawn, three of us fished on the same boat across 1.5 days on lacs and caught a total of around 100 smallies of not more. The majority were over 4lbs each. To add to that, 95% of those fish we caught all bit off the sleeper craw while other traditional lures were only producing here and there.
The realistic profile, the muted “sleeper” presentation, no exposed hook, no hard knocks, and slow life like craw movements are what made this lure so effective.
I will say, I stuck with the P5 FMJ, 17lb, 22 zillion hd because we kept losing fish with soft hook sets and when we try to play the fish. We were losing half of our fish with lighter gear and being to soft. So we fish it like a normal jig with a hard hook set, heavy jig rod, and big line. We crank the fish in because we lose too much fish because of how small the hook gap is and that it’s like a jig weed guard that fights back. By going hard, we were landing the majority of our fish and not only that, we are fighting bigger fish because Lacs also got 20-30” walleyes to go with 4-6lb smallies.
I am so impressed that it sits on my boat deck all the time I go target smallies from the BWCA, river, small lakes and mainly on Mille lacs.

I was super hesitant to buy it just because.....damn i have so many craw baits, what hooked me was they had one with the same color blue that the craws in my lake have. Threw it for about a half hour today (ohio, super windy and still cold) and caught a tank. She CHOKED it head first and i gave it a moderate hook set, the hook got her perfectly in the roof of the mouth. No way that fish was getting off. So the point im trying to make is.....heres my money megabass 😅😅 at least they are durable.

I'm wondering why these are popular when there's been 3d Craw's out there already, even simular build and plastics ... Its not a new thing. specially look simular, and i've been em with the same weight and everything. That and with that much bulk, most the water footage looks like its a floating brick, I get more movement from the arms and claws in other plastics.

Cool bait but I'm passing. I'll stick with the nikko Craw, way more versatile and way more realistic. Craws in my area are not anywhere near that chonky lol

Dark Sleeper and x bites means nothing to me, and I have to assume, many others. Rod action and power for this lure would have been more helpful info.

TBH, this lure is frustrating as shit. Every one I've gotten has fallen apart within 2-3 casts. Arms rip off like it's nothing. Either they need to cut the price to $5 or make it more durable. I've barely even fished the thing, and I'm not wasting any more cash on another.

Have you found that the durability is lacking ... Craws come off easily when fighting fish .. I lose an arm every 3 fish on or so ..
