I love this video! I am also disabled, and I think that being Catholic and disabled is not talked about enough. I think that there is a huge misconception that being holy means being completely healed, and that is completely not true.
Figuring out that 'pacing myself' and 'being gentle with myself' means to love me like Jesus loves me. Whether or not anybody else understands that is between that person and God. God allows my pain because in my deepest suffering is when I am most deeply connected to Him through His own passion -His love for me and all humans. So if my suffering brings other people to Him in whatever ways it does then I must forgive those people for their ignorance, forgetfulness, and rebellion, for I know without a doubt that He has forgiven mine. Thank you for your candid sharing. I have been lurking, but listening. God bless you both.
I have been married for nearly 30 years and have had lots of health problems as well as crippling, daily migraines. Having my husband’s help support has saved me.
This is so good and highlights another dimension to married. Sacrificial love. Lots of marriages don't withstand these challenges and people always think they're are alone in their struggles
I live with chronic pain and fatigue. I have degenerative disk disorder and IBS. My husband of 36 years is such a blessing! He does most of the shopping, laundry, dishes, etc. I use to be able to do these things before I got back problems. I have had back surgery and need to have more surgery. I am so grateful that God sent me such a caring, loving husband. He never complains. ❤
I have ME, fibromyalgia and chronic pain. This is spot on. I saw a quote that encompasses the way people forget: “Everyone will get used to this pain but me”
Ohio, we are known for our low battery electric store scooters. I just wish there was a safe way to plug them outside by the handicap spots. At least we need to have a cart corral in the middle of those spaces, essentially on the same latitude or longitude as the lot lights.
I enjoyed this so much and could relate to so much. I had a chronic illness that really became debilitating after I had our third child. I am much better now but now my husband is the one with major health problems. It’s has been hellish at times but also amazing and we have really bonded through this. And yeah, it’s just not really possible to “get” it if you’ve not dealt with chronic illness. But just knowing that you don’t really understand goes a long way.
I have been living with chronic pain for 23 years this coming January. I have been married for 10 of those years and we have been together for 14 years. He came into my life while i was still managing to do more than i can now. It is hard on all of us. But like you guys we are very happy together. I just wish pain wasn't a part of our daily lives. I hope you do have a talk from the partners side
EDS is a horrible debilitating condition. God is glorified in it and through it. May your family continue to be used to glorify our precious Lord and Savior. Thank you for your witness. ❤
Nobody expects the sickness FIRST in a marriage, except if they knew they were sick when they married them. Many spouses can’t handle it and leave them or commit Adultery, which they better Repent of and get power from Jesus to quit that addiction. Yes, it is just an addiction then and not an act of Special Love that God designed it to be, between a real man and woman. The person plagued with sickness, then has to deal with all these Emotional Pains from the betrayals, on top of all the physical pains too!!! 😩 So tell me, at the end of this road, who deserves to make it into God’s Paradise? Jesus Said to Help the sick, not add more pain to their situation!
Matt you’re probably not going to see this But just encase you do as I’m no longer a patron (hard times) Your wife said about falling into things, and I know about EDS but have a look into Dyspraxia just because she mentioned being on Ritalin not being able to sit still that Movement can be because of needing to stabilise oneself as well definitely have a look into low tone and Dyspraxia It doesn’t need to be worse case ever Dyspraxia either

I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and this all applies to people struggling with fatigue too. 100%.

As someone who has gotten ME/CFS(long COVID) from a C19 infection this hits home. Not many people understand.
