I've been a bender (tube, pipe, solid bar, round, square rectangle, common and domestic materials etc. whatever....) 11+ years for a living. Previously a machinist for 13+ years. I like the way you think. 👍 Looking good! .
Div, again you have taken complicated and made it simple. Having built a few bomber seats myself, I wished I had been able to view your video beforehand., I would haved saved myself a bucket load of time, let alone one hell of alot of frustration. My hat is off to you brother.
I cant say enough about how you work through the process of creating jigs and such first which makes it much easier when creating your final piece. Learning some tricks Boet!!!!
Great job on the ass holders! Lol! I was surprised you didn’t run it through the bead roller first. I’m sure you got some specific look your going for. You really make this look easy enough for Mr. Average to accomplish. Thanks for another great video.
Thats pretty cool. I had no idea that a seat could be so simple to make. You could even make it so that the back angle is adjustable with just a little bit of hardware and modification
These seats are becoming quite popular in rat rods . Halfass Kustoms did some similar seats recently! For a '37 Ford. If you haven't already, check out his channel.(part 36)
Excellent jig making there Oupa u somme makes it look easy...i reckon the round bar as a finishing is the way to go...nice to see the grandkids featuring ...future hot rod kids 👍👍👍👍
They make great break time seats I built one last year from 1 piece of steel as a seat for in my garage works a treat. Love your videos. It’s a big hello from the UK 🇬🇧
Awesome video as always !!!! I love the way you explain what you are doing and how much you care about making everything precise !!!! Amazing once again hope you have an awesome day 😊
This was a very ambissous project that you made "look" quite easy. I always enjoy seeing how you make your jigs. Very interested to see how you do the dimple dies for the speed holes! good work !
Really enjoying the focus on explaining how you setup your jigs. Seat is looking lekka! I am guessing the round bar trim added some needed stability to the seat and looks better than rubber.
I know I'm late on this, only recently found your channel...WOW!!!! Absolutely beautiful work bro. I'm working my way through your earlier vids, love the channel, keep up the amazing work 👍🇺🇸⚜️🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks! Interesting to me. I believe I would use 3/8” round stock for the edges. Might have to use the smoke wrench to heat up the bends but I think your seat would be a bunch stiffer. Just my thoughts.
Yes, 3/8 would make for a friendlier edge but definitely would need that flame thrower.😅 I am happy enough with the stiffness provided by the 1/4" round bar
Dov, I am watching this in incorrect order. I watched (Several times for some, too cool) but, seeing the finished bomber seats installed while you are adding tail lights or what not, but I thought these were salvage from airplanes or jets! I am watch #2 to see how these take the shape I am used to seeing already. I love the simple jig welded, indexed with stops for bending. I would guess you bought the sheet metal 1mm (19 gauge) but I am jealous if you have a local scrape yard to pick from. Metal has gone sky high as everyone from the steel mills, distributor, over the road transportation, fuel cost (Today, Diesel is $5.00 US per gallon) to the seller. It cost $0.13 cents per sq ft to make, but sells for $2.53 to get it. Sad how many fingers have found into your wallet. Hope you are well, ate good food and had a great time making today's memories and have a cold one for me! DK, Omaha. We take or memories with us!
I see you avoided being murdered by your bride when you failed to ask her in to measure her for the seat bottom. Clever boy. As always Div, I am really enjoying your videos.

From one old man to another I like the way you work
Thanks Gene

Thank you man. Coming from a pro, appreciate your comment!
You are so professional and prove you can do great things and not spend much money so satisfying to watch you
Thanks Sheryl! Yes, no need to buy shiny stuff to build something cool

Love this channel! From midwest USA.
Thank you very much Wayne!
Those jigs for cutting holes are great!
I cant say enough about how you work through the process of creating jigs and such first which makes it much easier when creating your final piece. Learning some tricks Boet!!!!
Very happy if I can pass on some ideas man. The time spent to make jigs is so worth it in the end
Great job on the ass holders! Lol! I was surprised you didn’t run it through the bead roller first. I’m sure you got some specific look your going for. You really make this look easy enough for Mr. Average to accomplish. Thanks for another great video.
Thanks! Ass holder 🤣 I like that! Might still do a few beads in next video
Using a swivel under the regular Bomber Seats allows it to turn toward the door . I like your version better , great Job.
Thank you. Never liked the swivel idea much...
Great work with even better description on the process. Who needs all the special tools when one is as enjanuitive
(Ingenuitive)as yourself. Mistakes happen!
Thank you! Necessity is the mother of invention.😅
Diff you are a creative genius. Love the design and the round bar edge! Jeff
Thanks Jeff. Dont now about that genius business, just a persistent bugger!😅
Thats pretty cool. I had no idea that a seat could be so simple to make. You could even make it so that the back angle is adjustable with just a little bit of hardware and modification
Yep, it's still a bomber seat, just a nicer version, great layout for a one piece design, I dig it 👌
Thanks brother!

Ja, gotta start them young😅 Round bar edge is the best and the jig works well!
Like I said before , love the way you show what you are doing . Explained very well ... and Build On
If it wasn't for my regular instruction...😂 Thanks brother!
Great job on the seats!! Very doable for average guy and i never thought that was even
possible. Thank so much for sharing your knowledge 🙏 😊
Thank you! That's the idea, to show no fancy tools required 😅
Love the seat ! Them grandbabies are adorable !
Thanks. Yes, grandkids are the best - you get to enjoy the best bits and can give them back to Mommy when you've had enough😂
Always enjoyable diff.
Love the jigs you come up with.

Thanks diff

Fantastic work on the seats 👍
Thank you Chris!
Looking forward to your forest engineered dimpled speed holes, here in a forest in Alabama.
Those jigs for cutting circles are very clever idea.
Thanks. They work very well. Make any size you need!
Boet!!! Im excited for this one!!!!
😀👍
Wow...Those seats came out awesome boet. Again you made it look easy. Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to your version of the dimple dies.
Thanks ISH. You gonna laugh at the crudeness of my "dimple dies"! 😂
@@ratrodsafrica if it works...why not.
Looks great. Round rod looks alot better than the black trim. Can't wait to see them done.
Thanks. Have to agree with you!
I have always had good luck with a fine, metal cutting blade in my jig saw for cutting sheet metal curves .
That works too!
👍👌👏 Extremely ingenious again and as always. Congrats.
Best regards luck and health.
Lekka grey beard, love your process. Thanks for sharing, it's inspirational.
Thank you and its a pleasure!
I really like the way you're doing your seats
Thank you Mike

Very cool man enjoying the build. Never made one, going to give it a try and build one for the shed.

Hi from Murrysville Pennsylvania US, my new Friend. Thanks for your Videos, very intertaining.

Hello Jim from Murrysville! Welcome to my forest workshop brother.
Yes I would think the round round rod stiffens it up makes better finished product beads and speed holes will help too always great to see your work!
Definitely makes it stiffer. The beads and dimpled speed holes on the way!😅

Cool project. I like how you teach.
wow that seat is badass great job love that it is made from 1 piece
Thanks!
looking lekka man, even better with dimples, well done div !
Thanks David! I will do the dimples in the next video.

What about a piece of 3/8" brake line with a slit cut in with your grinder narrow kerf blade

Yeah, mine comes from Adendorf's. Works well enough on the thin stuff, but like all air tools, you do need quite a bit of air.
I would like to have your plans for the bomber seats after you build

Yes, of course. But too tricky for the average guy!
