- I apologize in advance for the older /low quality vids but i wanted to show you guys one of my fav quads of all time. I owned this for 6 yrs (sold in 18) but man i miss it! This ktm450sx flat out ripped for being mostly stock minus a FCI intake and some tweaks .
I mx / track rode it, did ALOT of ice racing with it (check out my old vids on here) and tried some flat track. Overall if you havnt ever tried one of these... you should! It gave all my other quads a run and honestly made them look weak. I WISH KTM still made these . Comment below if you agree!
Out of the box, the KTM had no equal... An absolutely amazing machine!!!!
As pure race quad ur right. All around the YFZ450R is unbeatable! Still available new! Get one. I did. Support sport quads! Yamaha stops makin em we are lost. Sales are strong for '21.

@@Davido50 i prefer the ktm xs's and xc's over any other sport quad just because of their ergonomics, their so amazing to ride

Man if ktm would re release this quad with their 300 2 stoke engine I think they'd have a market for it honestly

My buddy won 2 national championships on a ktm 450sx , it had a slip on pipe and Walsh arms and fox shocks , great 4wheeler

I have a friend who had the 505sx version absolutely the most torque I have ever rode. Monster for a factory ride!
KTM needs to release a sport quad with one of their modern 2 strokes in it.

I bought one of the 1st 450xc in florida, then sent it to Mike Walsh so he could build a set of mx a arms for it. Got the arms a week before muddy creek. Showed up to the race and Wayne from PEP set up my PEP shocks for me during practice. I had the only ktm at the race that weekend and took 3rd overall in 450b. With a stock quad aside from the a arms shocks and wheels/tires.

Have you guys thought about a chassis like Walsh or lsr to have Ktm drop ins or any current dirt bikes or is it easier for your conversion you guys just came out with
We are pretty close to it. But our goal is 1 bike , with ability of BW , trike or quad so thats why we have been messing with the bike chassis as much as we do .

I want a 505 ktm sx but would take whatever. Have never ridden one, never even seen ine in real life but had a ktm 125sx. And my buddies 300 xc and 450sx and loved every one of them. My 416 ex would stay right beside my buddies yfz 450 thru third when it was fresh w port and polished head, cam and all but it seems like I had to ride that thing twice as hard on the track or the woods to keep the same speed as tge 450s w my suspension all stock I beat that thing to death. Would live to have any one of the ktm quads, he'll jus to ride one would be great
Always wanted a 525 for the mountains.
The ktm quads are alright, I got myself a 08 ktm 450 xc and for me I feel like there aren't really reliable. This damn quad took me 10 years to get since it was my dream quad when I was 8. I wish more of the competitors would bring back sport quads in general.
I love many Ktm quad i have a 08 525xc fastest quad i have ever ridden and all in all the smoothest

Ur right as pure race quad. I run Yamaha YFZ450s ! Love em . Race em. Trail em. Reliable as heck w/basic maintenance. Get one b4 Yamaha stops makin em.

I didn't know ktm made quads. I know mx has gotten smaller with time, but quad guys are really becoming few and far between. Kinda sad to look back to the 90s when races for mx quads and jet skis were packed to the max..... and now some sports you can hardly find events to go to.
I could ride that track all day and not break a sweat!

I miss my 450xc so bad. Ahead of their time just like the Cannondals moto 440 Crazy fast would smoke my brother and friends modified YFZ450r and canam 450 up sand mountain in Utah all day long stock
why did ktm stop the production?
They had low sales and built too many expected they would sell like hot cakes
KTM released these race ready quads that had everything done right from the factory, but they were far more expensive than any of the competition. They also released them basically right at the beginning of the recession so not only were they expensive, but no one had jobs any more.
They were also released right at the start of 2008 housing crash.

Those are xc. The KTM SX atv is a different animal and smoke the xc’s too.
