    Awesome video Ben. I've also reviewed this solar panel a few weeks ago. I wish I would have tried their battery bank as well, but I only received the panel. I'm taking this panel on a hiking trip, and will report back on how it hold up to 150km in the back country.
    Keep up the great work, and thanks for sharing.

      SurvivalTech Nord It works pretty well, better than some, and not as well as some. It doesn't work as good in low light but when you have full sun it works great.

    Stop spending my money Ben...
    In seriousness, I was just eyeballing this panel yesterday or the day before for my wife's kit. The money is not here yet for any panel but at least I know this is a valid option. Thanks man.

      Feral Woodcraft Really doesn't seem to make much difference. The budget ones seem just as good if you don't need the extra bells and whistles.

    I would love to see a head to head review of the Choetech 19W vs X-Dragon 20W vs Anker 21W, all of them with the high efficiency panels. The market is so flooded with the different brands we need someone to make sense of them! The Vinsic 22W High Efficiency is another one.

      +The Knife Connection yeah, basically it comes down to whichever brand you prefer and what is on sale this week.

    I plan to purchase one of these in the 2 panel version for my trek in the Himalayas. I've read too many negative reviews about the Anker versions. Even though their battery chargers are awesome.

    Ben, great video as usual buddy. You are no doubt putting me in the poor house:) Now, down to the nuts and bolts--at the end of the day, what brand is going in your BOB, INCH bag, etc.? You've done several solar panel reviews and I'm just curious. I was thinking of maybe putting one of these in my wife's BOB, but which should go in mine partner? Having s couple of options is good:) Thanks again

      @livingsurvival  9 лет назад

      Shane G I really don't notice much difference between them. They all do the job. I have another set from Anker coming up but that has it's cons too. I like the zip up pouch ones (goalzero, sunjack, chotech) but also like the auto sense capability and panel output of the ravpower and anker so far. Whichever is the best deal price wise is what I would go with. Also goalzero's panels charge 12v too so that is nice for ham radios and anything else that doesn't use USB. But more expensive.

    I find this interesting, they choose to use 5.5 v panels vs 5 or 6 volts, and if they did divide the large SunPower cells into 5, you should get 1.2 amps out of each panel...

  • @drcsep

      +Carlos Sepulveda i'd take this one over the sunjack. both work but this one tips the scales over the other.

  • @dr1ce
    @dr1ce 4 года назад

    You should really mention at the *beginning* of your video that the product was *given* to you for review. Your demo shows that the panel was only outputting a quarter to less than a half of what it was supposed to. I mean, isnt the point of reviewing something to figure out if it lives up to its rated amounts?

    What a great review. I watch every one of your videos. Question.... I have an Amazon wish list that I keep updated for things like Christmas, birthdays, etc. If I put an item on my wish from your Amazon store, do you get the credit when someone buys the item for me months later as a gift? Just curious.

    Could this work for charging AA or AAA batteries for flashlights ect? I'm thinking you could charge the power bank then plug in a usb aa/aaa battery charger. (then you could just carry rechargeable batteries with this kit for all electronics in your bug out bag) Have you considered getting a solar power bank which could be charged from the external panels and the panel on the bank itself at the same time?

    • @thecow123xxx
      @thecow123xxx 8 лет назад

      If you have a USB-charger for your AA/AAA batteries (such as the Thrunite U1, which also charges 18650 batteries), you can charge your batteries via this solar panel - no problem.

    in the instructions it say keep away from water droplets .when there advertising waterproof its not even shower proof if you follow the instructions booklet..i will say it works first day in winter sun it kept the power bank full. power bank charges Wi-Fi camera in the dark hours of the day. then the solar panel chargers the power bank in daylight hours to full .then start the cycle all over again .cool bit of kit

    Strange, mjlorton says that both ports have the same output in his video.
    And i know this is not a real argument but i would think he is the bigger expert and so I tend to believe him...

    • @livingsurvival
      @livingsurvival  8 лет назад

      they might have. just going to depend on how the sun is performing when you test the ports. I don't have two testers.

    How do u compare it to the goal zero panel?

    • @livingsurvival
      @livingsurvival  9 лет назад

      Matthew Quigley The Choetech is lower priced and good for those who need a simply to use panel. GoalZero panels typically have a 12v output in addition to the USB output for anything you want to charge using a 12v cigarette lighter adapter etc.
