@@foodaroundtheworld7320 back in the 1970's and early 80's when I was younger being first generation we went caroling after Jan. 1 until Jan7 or 1/14? Its ben a long time. We had a great time meeting families or even old couples with no one to celebrate the holiday with. They fed us with so much food and brandy it was a unforgettable experience! We had an adult chaperone so the younger ones didn't get brandy 🤫
thinking about how my parents would go thorough out their village or city when they were young and experience the welcoming nature and closeness of neighbors just like this one. these guys are one step above that and are like one family together! before communism or maybe being in the west their grandparents or great grand parents recall going caroling, my parents were born in 1924-1925 different life back then

I lost my dad when I was 4 a little after new years and had to put down my best friend on the same date but many years later. Prayed for God to take her that night but I had to do it next day! I wont do that again no matter how peaceful she went. Vet thanked me for being with her for the whole thing.
The holiday is never the same and never will be in the back of my mind. If I had a family like these guys I can find some joy in it after some tome because of their closeness. In the west we grow apart from family. Just don't force it on us well be ok lol

@@foodaroundtheworld7320 back in the 1970's and early 80's when I was younger being first generation we went caroling after Jan. 1 until Jan7 or 1/14? Its ben a long time. We had a great time meeting families or even old couples with no one to celebrate the holiday with. They fed us with so much food and brandy it was a unforgettable experience! We had an adult chaperone so the younger ones didn't get brandy 🤫
thinking about how my parents would go thorough out their village or city when they were young and experience the welcoming nature and closeness of neighbors just like this one. these guys are one step above that and are like one family together! before communism or maybe being in the west their grandparents or great grand parents recall going caroling, my parents were born in 1924-1925 different life back then
Grew up in Appalachia in the 50s and 60s. My grandparents did not have indoor bathrooms, we had root cellars and massive gardens.

I lost my dad when I was 4 a little after new years and had to put down my best friend on the same date but many years later. Prayed for God to take her that night but I had to do it next day! I wont do that again no matter how peaceful she went. Vet thanked me for being with her for the whole thing.
The holiday is never the same and never will be in the back of my mind. If I had a family like these guys I can find some joy in it after some tome because of their closeness. In the west we grow apart from family. Just don't force it on us well be ok lol
