Early 40s here. I'm now at the age where everything reminds me of a personal story. About 2 years ago, in the last months before I gave up online dating (believe it or not there was actually a period of time 2014-2020 or so where it was viable and sometimes actually enjoyable for me), I hit up this older woman (profile said 45) because her full body photos looked good. We exchanged a few messages, but it went downhill fast, with her turning catty and downright rude quickly. Instead of just ceasing communication, I decided to troll her a bit by pointing out the fact that "menopause exists". This 45-year-old woman proceeds to tell me that "menopause doesn't exist and is a made up tool of the patriarchy". You can't make this shit up.
I have a close friend who had her first and only baby at 42. She spent almost two months in the hospital, the baby had to be delivered prematurely by caesarean section and kept in an incubator for over a month, and there were permanent medical consequences for her. She put on at least an extra 75 pounds as a result of it all. Then there was quite a difficult rocky period after that with her son's father. Though they did eventually get everything sorted out as best they could, and the child seems to be doing just fine. I hope everything goes as well as it can for her. I don't want her to wind up tragic like me. But it was a very painful difficult thing to go through that she barely got away with. I wouldn't wish it for anyone. Just because you seemingly get away with something by the skin of your teeth doesn't mean it's good and anyone else should do it.
@ludakris6688I wouldn’t think they be that side of the spectrum. Most women in their 40’s and 50’s tend to be more right leaning, and still have liberal ideas. (I know controversial) But even then, they’re still oblivious to the whole thing saying ‘You have all the time in the world’ and ‘I am 46 and can still have children’. But one question I have for those that can ‘still have children’ is “You could, but should you?”. That and when menopause finally hits them, they finally realize that “Huh, maybe I don’t have as much time as I think I do”.
@ludakris6688the woman just wemt through a horrible experience and you assume all these horrible things about her. Take a look at yourself in the mirror.

Yes, menopause is real but it's effects can be mitigated with a bit of hard work, investment in educating yourself and a good, clean lifestyle. I'm 53 and workout everyday, eat a healthy diet, get 8 hours sleep, don't stress about anything and take the bare basic supplements. I have zero symptoms. Not a single one. But it took about a year of me figuring it all out and putting all the techniques in place for that. I have a great relationship with my husband, we never argue about anything and we are each other's best friend. If a woman doesn't take care of herself, her relationships and her lifestyle, then she will have a miserable time in menopause.
