...and just like that, a firmer War Pigeon moved up the production schedule! Thanks for the love Robbie. We are actively working on adding plastic lines, so hopefully we can have something a little more to your liking soon.
I only putt with Lunas. I’m so crazy about them I actually talk to my putter during my rounds. Sometimes my Luna sleeps next to me before a big match. The Luna is my baby. Yes….I am a Luna-tic! …..Robbie….You Rock!
I love that my son loves putting with the Luna, and I love seeing him happy as he puts them in the basket from all over the course. So getting a pack of Lunas and watching the birdies that my son makes would make me one proud and happy Papa.
I won’t lie, this may have changed my opinion about putting with Lunas. I’m a massive McBeth fanboy and a part of the reason why I put with Lunas is because of him. I’ve been playing around with the different plastics for Lunas and I still haven’t really found the best one for me. I think this video specifically is the one that made me realize that Lunas aren’t really doing anything special for me. I bought a zero medium dagger a week ago and loved how it felt but I’ve been meaning to take it out and have it duel with the Luna and I think this was that reminder I needed. Keep up the good work Mr. RUclips Man!
My son and I started playing disc golf around 7 weeks ago, and we are both hooked. I have been looking for something both of us can do together, and this fits the bill nicely. He is a forehand dominate, and I'm trying to put a back hand together. The one thing we always say during a round is that we need to practice putting more. So, we are saving up for a basket to put in the back yard and some putters. We both watch your channel and putters that you have thrown would be neat, either way thanks for all you do for beginner disc golf players everywhere!
You saying the Lunas have a tendency to drop is huge for me. I got a practice basket for my birthday in April and started focusing on my putting form a lot more but noticed I was hitting the chains low or the basket. I was pretty discouraged because I changed my form for more consistency but was always hitting low. I’m glad the disc has a big role in that and it’s not all my form.
I have tried a lot of putters from different companies and always find myself coming back to the Luna. Consistency is what I get from them. It just performs the same for me every time and that gives me the confidence to take the putt even when it is out of my comfort circle. Which by way has grown the last few months. Great discs, great content creators, and lots of practice makes for a better disc golfer. That is my goal. I spent my disc golf money on Polecats thanks to you Robbie so throw me love and give me some of those Lunas. My wife will thank you. HaHa!
After about 9 years of playing, circulating challys, roaches, judges, and so on, I tried the Luna and at first thought it felt weird. After a few rounds and some practice I realized that it gave me both the point and shoot aspect I’d been looking for along with juuuuuuust enough stability to forgive some longer runs I didn’t get before. I am still putting with the prototype Lunas I received from being a first year underground member but am scared that once the time to put different plastics in the bag I’ll be lost again. As Lunas are not cheap and now I have children, I’m hanging on for dear life to the ones I have. Great stuff Robbie and appreciate the work you do for our sport. Keep it up!
Why do I love the Luna? I mostly love what the Luna represents. The Luna was the beginning of Paul's own line of discs. This revolutionized how top pros make money and approach contracts. This also led to an era of incredible plastic from the Falcor to the Nomad. The Luna is a symbol of disc golf taking a step forward.
I love the emac judge. This video is exactly what I went through trying to find a putter with the glide of a judge and stability of a shield. Good luck to all ya Luna lovers
Was loaned one for my very first round (May of 2023). Fell in love with the sport. Right after the round, I went to my local disc golf store and bought a starter set. I found your channel, and now, with my free time, I am out doing field work and throwing as many rounds as I can during the week.
I love the Luna because it gave me confidence in my putt. It never left my bag after the first time I used it. I didn’t have to stress over 15 footers anymore because it just felt so smooth coming out of my hand. It became my main putter, taking over for the discraft magnet, and I won my first league tournament with it. I was smashing all of the putts for my partner and we were unstoppable. The Luna gave me confidence even under pressure which is something I didn’t have before.
I’ve been playing since September and I’ve found the Luna my go to disc. Not only putting but off the tee as well. I’m a bigger guy so flexibility isn’t my strong suit. I can trust the Luna for the majority of my shots. Thanks for the content Robbie. Ive enjoyed your journey so far and can’t wait to see what the future holds for you! God bless.
When I was super new to disc golf, I tagged along with my buddy to get Brodie's Dark Crystal Raptor, and get it signed - while we were there, I said "I need a putter" and my buddy said "I got you fam" and started looking through the used bin We grabbed a pretty beat up Luna, and I instantly loved the feel of it, then when we got to the counter and had Brodie sign the raptors, he said "oh cool, you also got one of my old practice Luna's" So yeah, been putting with a Luna ever since!
Love the Luna. First putter I ever bought and made sure to get the 6X Luna. Favorite disc. Have 2 in the bag currently. I love the versatility of it with off the tee, upshots and putting. I could throw the Luna all day and be happy as could be.
Hey Robbie, huge fan of your content! I can confidently say my game would be nowhere near where it is today without your videos. Now as for my reason why I love Luna's... I don't. Never thrown one. However, my close friend (and arguably the only other person who helped my game as much as you) loves them for the exact reasons you described in the video! He hits some really cool C2 putts with that glide and is probably the best putter I know. He loves the Luna so much that he NAMED HIS DAUGHTER LUNA! Talk about dedication! So if you're looking to find someone who will appreciate & love these discs as much as you (tried to) I can promise it's him.
I love the the Luna because they remind me of the time Paul called me asking for help with his putting game, and I was like, Paul, buddy I will help you, but I want a Luna but cant afford one. He was like help me out one last time and I will send you one. Long story short, I am still checking the mail daily. That darn Paul, what a kidder.
16:29 started throwing discs about a month ago and picked up a Luna in a mixed bulk buy. It felt very comfortable right away. Currently searching for unused items in my home to list for sale so I can aquire more Lunas in different plastics. You know, cause driving is for show and putting is to make dough. Great video with an excellent break down of your testing and reasons why you are making the switch.
Started with the Lunas because of Paul of course….would love some more because I just cashed every C1 putt last time I played and smacked around my friends thanks to it. Send them my way so I can “leave you with some birdies”
The first time I picked up an Aviar it felt great and I've not looked back since. It's super cheap, and I never have supply problems if I need to buy a new set to practice with or take to putting league. I have a Luna, too, and it just feels like a slightly different Aviar with a touch thicker rim, and a slightly more rounded bottom rim. Feels good to me, and they make great straight-flying putters.
I used an aviar for a long time, like 10 years, but ive since switched it up. I discovered i like the Aviar3 a lot better than the aviar, but im better with my Envy or my super soft Marshall
I love the honesty and transparency you always bring to your videos. I have been trying to make Luna's work for a few months now and finally as of about a week ago, feel like I've turned a page and am seeing great results. I agree it's not for everyone and like a lot of Luna users felt like it if it works for Paul it must be great! It surely isn't a cookie cutter approach to getting good at putting, unfortunately none actually exist, and still even with my recent success am not entirely sold. I think as humans, let alone disc golfers, we fall into the traps of comfort and tend to gravitate towards the devil we know per say instead of branching out. Love that you always encourage curiosity and stepping outside what you imagine your comfort zone to be to find what is truly the best for your individual fit. Would love to get my hands on one of those Luna's but more importantly just wanted to say a long overdue thanks for what you do for a lot of us AMs just trying to gain competitive insights without losing the joy this game brings to our lives!
Yes, I love Luna’s, I have been so off my putting and switched over to lunas and went full all-in with them and I have been putting way better and make more putts, my putting is at the best it has ever been.
I was a young lad, maybe 16 at the time...and thats when i saw her. Round, beaded, beautiful, the Luna. I knew i had no chance with her at the time so i abandoned my dreams of ever finding that special putter. But i worked on my stance, my count, my rythym and then wouldnt you guessed who strolls back into town. The Luna, and i knew it was my time. I approached her and said "would you be my special putter?" We've been together since. In seriousness my friend has them and I tried them and loved them! Would really love a couple myself ive only been playing since April. Great content!!
I love the Luna for the grip of the rubber blend. I used to use a PA-2 in 300, but had trouble finding them. I gave a used bin Luna a try and grew to love it. I can also say, “Thanks a lot PM!”, if I miss and roll away from the basket.
I love the Royal Sense plastic! I made the switch to the Faith (deep beadless with a big bevel) after trying the Agent, and wanted something that was definitely going to have production. But that grip from the plastic, with that firmness underneath it, is just great! Great video Robbie, and I know I'd MUCH rather see you banging putts in with that confidence you have in that great putting stroke than shaking your head in these videos when it goes off the band or the cage.
I was at the International Disc Golf Center in Georgia for my first tournament in June. I am very new and did not really have a putter I liked. While in the pro shop a Luna was in their discount used bin. I had my best day of putting that day and it has only improved since. I practice like you do and have found that both the fast drop and the great glide help in situations and would love to have more to throw with my practice basket. Love your videos so far. Really new to the sport and you are one of my favorites.
Playing in different seasons and temperatures and how much that can affect putter stiffness and grip is definitely under appreciated. That's part of why I was drawn to MVPs offerings and being able to go soft, regular, or firm in electron- and the cosmic versions can provide a bit of additional variance as well - really letting you dial in the kind of grip and stiffness you need for a particular time of year. I stopped using the P2 and the Luna because of plastic availability issues so that was the first thing I looked for when I looked for my next putter. I dont want to putt with limited release plastics
I absolutely love discraft’s rubber blend plastic. I’ve made it a little mission of mine to collect several of my favorite discraft molds such as the Nuke and Buzzz SS in their limited production rubber blend releases. That is what initially drew me to the Luna as a putter and I have putt with them on and off for a while now. I also recently tried the CT glow plastic for the first time when I bought a Foundation stamped buzzz. I also immediately took a liking to the CT plastic as well and loved the stiffness of it. I haven’t tried a Luna in any other plastic type and think that a CT Luna would be especially interesting to give a go in my colder climate of northern Minnesota. I love your videos and podcast. Keep doing what your doing, Robbie!
I’ve never tried a Luna I’ve only thrown a judge that’s what I was given when I started playing I’ve gotten used to how it flies so I see where you’d have a problem switching but you gave it plenty of time to try and make it work it wasn’t for you do what makes you happy bro!!!!! Cause that is what makes us smile. I would be open to try a Luna and see if it helps me though. Thanks Robbie
I love my Lunas for how i spin putt. Most times i like to push that overstability and the extra glide made it feel more consistent out of my hand than the pigs i used prior. Im glad someone mentioned the "dead drop" that can happen when you arent putting enough juice in your shorter putts and boy can that be a real downer! I buy maybe one a year due to the price and have been rotating my three for a bit! this last year i was given a big Z luna which is my favorite putter for tee shots! Days where i want to switch up my bag come and go, but ive kept that consistency with my silly 30 dollar plastics for so long, i cant go back!
I love the luna for the nostalgia. I got into the sport just after the holy shot, I had to learn about all these people and seeing Paul as the general top at the time. I picked one up randomly because I was obsessing over putters because i was wanting to get better. It was fantastic as a change from a premium plastic Pa-3. As it hepled me get better, it stayed with me until it got bent out of shape, forcing me to switch again. Its been in my bag since then, and ill still throw it until it breaks or i cant play anymore.
Hey totally understand you tried it for long enough. I just started 4 months ago so I would love to get my hands on as many putters as possible to find my favorite!
Thanks for being so clear about what you were struggling with on the Lunas. It's impressive to see such a clear break down of why a putter does or doesn't work for you. I've learned I prefer a blunt nose with a flatter bottom bevel. I've worn out a pair of L64 Zero Hybrid Keystones (limited run, why did I pick griffin discs!?), and I'm trying to decide what to use now. In the running are Retro Keystones and Storm Craters (very different but both with that flatter bevel). How would the Luna compare? Does it have a flatter bevel or something a bit steeper like the Pure/Aviar?
For a long time I bounced around putters until one day a wise old man told me to try a Luna. With his sage like wisdom I bought one a couple weeks after and loved it. It gave me the pop from the deep range that I needed and was consistent from close. Through the first phase of the disc I was constantly nailing putts. Then I hit a drought! I switched to a Jude to try out a bead and went dead for weeks. Giving up hope I went back to the Luna. And fell in love all over again
The Luna is a great putter for me, as someone who has just started out playing disc golf I love to branch off and try a variety of discs I Love the Luna because of how many different types of plastics, colors and designs and I aspire to be like Paul McBeth on the putting green.
When I first started playing Disc Golf it was the first disc I found on a course. No name and no number so I started using it. First putt was about 30-35 feet and I sunk it for a birdie 😂 to say it’s a staple in my bag is an understatement
Well Robbie, you and I are just Yin and Yang. You like beaded and stiff. I prefer non-beaded and rubber blends. You are really good at putting and I am really good at making putt attempts. Not really a big CT fan, but the rubber blends are SWEET and the lack of bead just feels right. Good luck with your crappy feeling beaded putting projectiles! Thanks for the fun video as usual.
I like the Big Z Luna for a throwing putter. For putting I've historically used Discmania Links in Exo Soft for my spin putts but recently picked up the new Ledgestone swirly soft, bottom stamped Challengers and find myself really liking how they feel.
I don't love the Luna.... YET! I just started playing in April and I know my putting needs the most work in my game. So I am on the hunt for the putter I love and it COULD BE the Luna!!! I don't even know what I don't know yet, but I'm open to trying out the Luna and I can promise I would put yours to WORK!
I'm a natural spin putter and started my disc golf journey with the Discraft Roach. It took me about a year and a half to notice the glide was too much for my spin and got really good at missing high right. I then decided to give the Luna a shot. It didn't take long for me to fall in love with the Luna's accuracy and consistent flight. The Luna gives me the confidence to send circle 2 putts without worrying about the putt back. High and right is becoming a thing of the past and the Luna finally helped me shoot under par. I currently own 1 big Z Luna, 1 ESP Luna, and 5 rubber blend Lunas. Thanks for the awesome content Robbie! Your videos are way better than any disc in the market.
I don't buy discs too often, I'd been using a couple old DX Aviars for years that were too light and would fly off with the slightest breeze, and a Vibram putter which was super overstable which is great for windy days but fades really hard. I picked up a Penny Putter by Lone Star in glow plastic and it's been perfect for me. Nice glide and a gentle fade and durable.
I love my lunas because of the same exact reason you liked them from outside of the circle. My very first tournament of my short disc golf adventure I was left short for a birdie on the first hole of the first round, about 90’ out. My caddie told me to lay up and I shook him off and drilled it, full on raptor legs running to the basket. 2 holes later and the exact same situation and I drilled another! And after that I was running everything and it definitely cost me a lot of strokes.. but I still love them because I have so much confidence outside the circle!
My best friend got me into disc golf and kindly gave me a Luna to use for my first round with him. Though I was awful at throwing the discs, the Luna felt comfortable and secure even on my forehand. Since then it's been my go to and I've made some awesome putts with it! Love your content and good luck with the new putters.
Tbh I didn't love the Luna at first, I've been playing disc golf for under a year and still on a quest to find my putter that I'm comfortable with. The Luna gave me insight on a rubber blend beadless putter that I know fall back on and enjoy throwing because it's more comfortable in the hand after buying and trying a slew of other discs: pa-3, pa-2, xt colt, pure and dagger just to name a few. Thanks for doing what you do Robbie, keep it up.
Lunas completely changed my game. I didn’t like in my game how I had a separate molds for putting and throwing putters (putting with wardens vs throwing the envy). As a Paul fan I decided to try the luna and it took a long time for me to really fall in love with the disc. While it is the disc I have had to put the most effort into I’ve gotten the most reward out the Luna than any other disc in my bag. I love throwing it and love putting it. My putt is more confident than it has ever been (albeit still not great lol) and my approach game feels amazing anything inside 250. I’ve Loved watching you work through your likes and dislikes with the luna and you put to words what I have been trying to pinpoint about my own game for a while. I have been putting with rubber blend lunas since covid but have yet to try the CT luna. I made the move to Texas from Oregon last year and have felt a difference in the heat when putting with the rubber blend. I haven’t had the finances to get a set of CTs but I’m excited to try them in the future. Thanks for the insight!
The rubber blend of the stock run Luna really reminds me of those large rubber erasers I used in school. After years of using those to erase my mistakes it felt good to chuck those across my room when I got home, fortunately the Luna has the same exact feel. It might even be therapeutic.
I love the Luna because when all of my fellow night owls are out there hooting at the moon and playing glow rounds, the Luna comes in clutch for me. It's a devine putter, and has taught me how to have just the right touch with my putting, and as we know putting is the best way to shave strokes off of our game is to lock in your putting. I don't feel like I'm out there just winging it on the course with the Luna, and the nest (I mean rest) is history. Thanks Robbie C
The Luna’s rubber blend plastic is what actually made me fall in love with the Bro-d roaches. I loved the feel, but avoided the mold because I’m not a world champion putter. When Brodie got into disc golf, he chose the roach for the feel effortless glide which made me think I could putt with it too. I love the Luna because it led me to my putters that I found 3 years ago and still use today.
I can’t say I love Luna because I haven’t tried them out yet. I’m newish to disc golf and trying different discs all the time. I’d love to try them out but as you described buying discs are not cheap 😂. It would be great to have a few to continue developing my short game and seeing where it takes me. Love the content and you were my first Disc Golf content creator I began to follow. Keep it up!
Over the past 2 years I've been working on my game extensively. Mostly with the help of youtube content much like you put out. I swapped to the Luna earlier this year to just try something different. I was putting with KC Pro Aviars myself when I first started playing because it was the first disc to feel decent in my hand. I found that the bead on the Aviar was actually causing me some issues as it would almost stick to my index or even at times my pinky finger. It would just catch enough to cause my putt to be thrown way off to the right, and as a push putter, nothing upsets me more than missing left/right. I tried a few other putters before making my way to the Luna, but once I put on in my hand and started putting with it, I don't know if I'll ever try another putter in my hands. That reliable drop you talked about was the #1 factor for me. I can't tell you how many times I hit band with my Aviars. Where my release point is and the amount of pop that I put on the disc, the Luna is just absolutely perfect for my game. Not to mention I've hit some absolute banger C2/C3 putts with this thing, I've increased my jump putting range by at least 30ft thanks to these discs. Am I the best putter in the world? No. Am I consistent? No. But the Luna will forever have a place in my bag.
What made me love the luna. Was the size of it. I am a newer golfer《 18 months in to be exact》 at the prime age of 47. When paul designed it I believe he had the perfect diameter in mind for older people who are working class with strong curled hands. The first time I grabbed it it was like they had used my hand for the size. I have tried 13 diffrent putters and hands down the luna is it. Sorry u didn't have any luck with it , I have found there is a putter for everyone u just have to find it.
The Luna is like the perfect all-season tire. It gives you solid performance all year around. You can drive with it and putt with it. It handles cold, wind, and rain. I also like the fact that it isn’t too deep and lacks a bead. While I have mostly used the special blend and rubber blend for putting, I have 3 CT ones that have almost made me change to using the CT. If I could get a few more CT, I probably would make the switch.
Hey Robbie, Happy late birthday! Love your content. I want to say your beginner content is and was a great place for me to start my journey back into the disc golf world. For me, as returning player to watch, and for my wife, who is attempting to really learn how to play. She and I have spent tons of time watching your content, and the advice/informative content has been some of the best we could get. It has been something where we are waiting for the uploads knowing they will be informative and entertaining. I played disc golf a lot from 2010 - 2018ish, while my girlfriend and now wife played more casually. We both ended up taking a break from disc golf from then until this spring. We live in Northern California, where a lot of fires have changed the landscape, and we lost interest after our home course and a local course both were burned. But we both wanted to get back into it, to get outside more and play a sport we both enjoyed while also creating new memories. We started by playing a local course, and immediately, I went straight back to 2014, the first putt. I had an ancient Discraft Magnet that was my putting machine through the first years of golfing. At the time, the common thread that I was told by people was to "throw what's comfortable" and that "all putters are the same; it's mostly mental anyways." So, even though I felt like I didn't love the Magnet mold, I kept putting with the Magnets for years. They felt good, and if all putters are the same, then why change? So, right off the rip, I got a 5 pack of magnets to putt with, and they're cheap. I smashed a ton of reps but still couldn't really get confident with the magnets. I ended up shopping around. The Luna was the first one I bought and messed around with, but I didn't seem to find a happy place with them at first, mainly because they're a very expensive putting putter to replace my magnet. I tried almost every brand's putter that I could find used at my local play it again. I did my first tournament with the magnets and struggled with putting. My wife told me after my tournament round, "why did you buy the Luna's first and putt really well with them in practice and then give up on them even though you rated them so highly?" Stubbornly, I listened to her advice, and I went back to throwing the single Luna, knowing that if I like them that I won't have as many Lunas as I do Magnets. They're very good discs when you give them a true opportunity. They have a more predictable flight compared to the magnet, yet similar characteristics within the circle. In my opinion, where the magnet fell short is where the Luna makes up and fills the gaps. They're a good throwing putter, surprisingly understable at higher speeds but just as much as a straight flyer as the magnet. The profile is similar as well. Other putters definitely didn't have the same feel in the hand as the Luna and Magnet. And the plastic feel is very good. Overall I would love to be chosen for this giveaway because I know I would put them to good use while also having a chance of having a favorite content creator's discs! The Luna has been the putting putter for me this summer and I don't imagine changing. Thanks for this opportunity and for your content!
My putting style has me pop my hand "TO THE MOON". as my friends have often teased me about, especially in those fun glow rounds. With all the jokes about the moon, the Luna just fits perfectly in my bag. Though I also have a mercy in case the crew is picking on me too much.
I have been using the luna as my putter for about 7 months now. And also looking to switch it up. When you said it drops quick or it can glide forever i never thought about that but you are right.
When I first started playing, the Luna was actually my favorite forehand disc. I love throwing it on a ton of hyzer and trusting it to flip perfectly each time. One of my favorite discs I still bag from when I first started. (Love you Robbie)
I love the luna because it varies in performance, and can help me mold minimalize. I carry 3 different lunas (base plastic, '21 tour series, '23 tour series). one is stable, one is straight, and one is flippy, and they glide for days. great disc. also my wife likes to putt with them so it's always a plus when i can get out and play with her
I don’t know if I do love the Luna. I’d love to try to find out though with one of those three packs. Thanks again for all you do to help the disc golf community Robbie C.!
I love Luna, because it is a disc I have never missed with, never thrown either, so I would have ultimate confidence in making it my go to putter. Can ya' tell I'm searching for a putter for me to bag. How better than from YOU Robbie C!!
Spin putter here. I putt with rubber blend Lunas for a few reasons. 1) No bead. I dont like beaded putters for a pure spin putt. 2) Depth. I'm not a fan of deep putters and the Luna is quite shallow when compared to a P2, for example. It just feels really good in my hand and its what I've modeled my putt around. 3) The rubber blend plastic has great hand feel. Its not too grippy, which leads to less shanks in my experience. It also hits the chains softer than some harder plastics.
I love the Luna because it felt right in my hand the moment I tried it! Can be thrown from further out with a great glide or used to putt and find the chains from closer distances. Definitely my go-to putter for the foreseeable future!
I love the Luna! It was the first putter I ever got that felt amazing in the hand, and the rubber blend just always worked for me. I bought one like 4 months into starting out and got it because I saw a lot of them were purple! 💜and my mom loves purple. I love going to course with my mom and her going, “Ooooo those like nice” then BAM drain the 40 footer cash money. Would love to rep some Robbie C owned Lunas!
I started putting with Luna’s a few months ago. I had putted with Roaches for a couple of years. Then I started having some nasty roll aways and was missing right a lot. So, as any normal disc golfer does, I blamed the disc and decided to switch putters. I liked the shallow, beadless rim of the Roach, so I wanted something similar. I read a comment that the called the Luna a slightly more stable Roach and that sold it for me.
I've been flip flopping between Ions and Wizards and I never stopped to think maybe I just needed to try a different plastic blend, and oh boy does Gateway have a million. Thanks Robbie!
I have tried so many putters. I’ve had one Luna I used for a while. It felt great. One of my friends who was starting out was putting with whatever he had. Buzz, Destroyer, whatever. Lol. I need something that feels good and consistent so I stop buying new ones then eventually letting them turn to throwing putters and starting over.
I love the Luna because it was the first putter I bought when I got into disc golf (honestly for the hype) and I loved it as I have smaller hands it not being super deep putter and I don’t like beads on my putters so it fits nice in my hand. Also being a spiny push putter it’s great and I can zip it and try to give it a good run from far away and still have confidence. The plastic also nice as it’s not to slick for me and also not super gummy like say a jawbreaker. Bonus that first Luna I bought is now so beat in that it’s one of my throwing putters and it glides for days (when I throw it right).
I honestly haven’t ever tried a Luna have always wanted to but never got to it I’m fairly new to the game of disc golf and honestly can see why some people don’t like beadless and/or beaded putters I use pilots as of right now and I’m open to anything I can really get my hands on to possibly make me better at the game I’m open to. So hopefully I can be lucky enough to own one of the packs of Lunas thank you for making this video Robbie it was very informative. Edit: I also play ball golf so the tiger woods comment made me feel like disc golf wasn’t all that different than the golf I want to play professionally in the future so thanks for that Robbie
I have been Luna-ing a lot about putting thanks to you… happy b-day. I have had my eye on the Luna but every time I’m put one in my hand it feels a little spacey. Not have a place for the old nose picker and all. I recently got a bullet from my local disc shop (1 hr45min away/ pay shipping or gas, at least i get to put someone else’s disc in my hand before I make the long term commitment, am I right) definitely put one in your hand, it’s like holding your… (own disc) it just feels right. One day I’ll make the move and let you know if it took my putting Luna or if it’s still just shooting blanks.
I love the Luna because with my slow lofty putts it just falls out of the sky seemingly and that helps me from over shooting a birdie putt I'll end up missing anyhow and gives me an easy par putt. I also really like that it means moon, because like the moon it's round. And that's just straight facts.
I believe that throwing discs is like a relationship. I have not had the opportunity to use a Luna yet. So I have no love for them, but I am also in an open relationship with my current putters 😂. Thank you for another great video.
I love the Luna because it is super consistent at those closer ranges and I can confidently nail shots. Also love that it’s Discraft which I’ve been a big fan of from the jump. Thanks for the vids Robbie!
Interesting take on the dropping of the disc. I have improved my putting over the winter and spring, but as I move further away from the target I have had this annoying basket hit. Dead center basket. I putt with the PA3 but getting that power just right and consistently that is the trick. Luna for sure are super glidey, and Fierce for that matter. Great for approach, not sure I can trust them in the circle. Beaded is a must for me, although a DX Aviar can get the job done.
I love the Luna because when I first started playing me and my son started with a couple disc and the Luna was the first better disc we bought and we both used them till we beat them in completely and now mine is super flippy so I keep it in my bag as a big turn over disc!
Why do I love the Luna? Many moons ago, my ancestors were sustainable stardust farmers in the jungles of Puerto Rico. One winter solstice a piece of the moon fell to the earth, crushing their crops. Since that day, our family has always used the moon's rays as guidance when playing disc golf. That is why I love the Luna
So it’s pretty funny beacause I’ve been wanting to see what the Luna is all about this is my first full year of disc golf , and I’ve tried the wizards by gateway and now the faiths by latitude 64. So it would be an honor to try the Luna out! I would love the opportunity to possibly grow to love a putter that I can rely on. As always thank you Robbie for the great content as always! And happy late birthday 🎉
I have no clue if I love the Luna, just now starting to get away from my Amazon basic discs as I get more into disc golfing. Buddy gave me a pure, been a good disc!
I am a relatively new player I’ve tried the AVIAR and the Dagger and I found them a little deep. I went to a local disc golf shop and held a couple different putters and the feel of the plastic and the depth of the Luna felt good. I ordered a 5 pack of misprinted lunas on sale and now I’m looking to make my putting practice a little less cardio intensive 😂. I have seen pretty good improvement doing putting 3-4 times a week. Great videos either way looking forward to hearing how your time with the dagger goes. Hey, if you want, I’ll trade you my dagger for a Luna 😂.
I can't say I have ever thrown a luna because I have been happy with the putters I have used in my tenure thus far. That being said, the three I turn to are the Magnet, Warden and Roach. Loved the magnet for a long time with their old four chain stamp and the plastic used at the time but the ones I have are far too beat in to be reliable for a short approach and putting disc. I have been bouncing back and forth between Warden and Roach as neutral flyers/beadless putters and I love them both. I can imagine a Luna would be right in there at some point.
I have been very slowly looking for a new putting putter. I started with roach and it was a great putter however it was too strait. I started to realize I wanted a putter with a tick of stability to it. Bring in the birdie disc golf marvel! Great disc a slightly shallower P2. I am currently putting with them but there is a big problem they are expensive and the plastic I like is kind of hard to get my hands on. So I have been thinking about looking at the luna. I picked up the paul mcbeth starter pack to try a few of the PM line discs and by far my favorite was the soft luna! It's such an amazing thrower the feel is incredible and because it's beat it its my outside the circle putter. I have been thinking about picking up a pair to see how they putt! They are what I like in a putter not deep no bead glide with a touch of fade! Not to mention one of the best to ever play our game designed this disc and has won plenty of tournaments so how can it not be good enough for me?!?!?
...and just like that, a firmer War Pigeon moved up the production schedule! Thanks for the love Robbie. We are actively working on adding plastic lines, so hopefully we can have something a little more to your liking soon.
If you guys need testers, just let us all know and we’ll give it a shot!😂
God bless.
I just came to say that was a fantastic Trent Crim. Absolutely nailed it.
When I was super new to disc golf, I tagged along with my buddy to get Brodie's Dark Crystal Raptor, and get it signed - while we were there, I said "I need a putter" and my buddy said "I got you fam" and started looking through the used bin
We grabbed a pretty beat up Luna, and I instantly loved the feel of it, then when we got to the counter and had Brodie sign the raptors, he said "oh cool, you also got one of my old practice Luna's"
So yeah, been putting with a Luna ever since!
I just love it cause it feels great in my hand and the soft medium is awsome plus I like throw up shots to with them. Happy birthday Robbie.
The idea of the Luna on the bigZ plastic fits so good with my love of mythology, along with the tremendous distance I can get on them as well.
Yes, I love Luna’s,
I have been so off my putting and switched over to lunas and went full all-in with them and I have been putting way better and make more putts, my putting is at the best it has ever been.
Love the feel of the Luna in the jawbreaker plastic especially and love the way it flies for my upshots!
I love the Luna for the grip of the rubber blend. I used to use a PA-2 in 300, but had trouble finding them. I gave a used bin Luna a try and grew to love it. I can also say, “Thanks a lot PM!”, if I miss and roll away from the basket.
I love the luna because the luna is love!
Appreciate all the work ✌️&❤
I love the luna because its the first thing I've ever heard Robbie C dislike. Wasn't sure it was possible, but he is one of us after all.
I have one on the way, can’t wait to try it.
I recently switched to Hope (Royal Sense). Absolutely love it!
The first Luna i owned was one that i found. It was the most excited I have ever been when finding a disc!
I love the Luna because it controls the tides!!
I love the Luna because my daughter needs a good putter to start her disc golf journey!
Daggers! Love the plastic and the bead.
I started off with aviars then switched to rhyno’s for a long time and now loving birdie marvels
Keep it up!
I love the Luna, because it's my favorite putter I've never thrown!
I love the Luna because of the X-blend plastic that it comes in. It folds in half easily. :)
You and Ricky putting with the DAGGER! I might have to switch!
I've tried every putter out there. Daggers for Life.
I love my Steady Eddys for the Summer and switch to Penny Putters in the winter.
I find myself going back to Lunas. It's all mental for me. No other putter gives me as much confidence as the goats putter
I’ve never tried the Luna, but I’ve always wanted to try it!
Honestly I'm just over the Moon about the hand feel and the way it seems to glide through Space but still has the Mass to Gravitate to those chains!
When I used Innova, mine was the Rhyno and then I went to Lone Star and switched to the Armadillo. I like the lids.
I love the Luna
Because I’m always reaching for the stars
