Awesome way to teach! Just moved to Rainbow Springs, Florida! First time kayaker who hasn't even bought a kayak. I will definitely watch this alot more, thankyou🤩

Ah Ha! I've been finding this difficult and no- one has told me to swivel from the hips before. I've been moving from the waist only (just about). Thanks.

Thank you. I'm new to paddling. Is this instruction appropriate for white water kayaking? Thanks again.

Yes, this advice applies to all sorts of kayaking. Flat water racing kayaks with wing paddles are a little different, but mostly the same. Jake is a whitewater paddler and a strong efficient forward paddle stroke is really helpful on the river.

How much if any force goes through the feet on to the foot rests??

Hard to quantify Tom! But certainly as you put more effort into your strokes, you'll feel application of force through your feet more than the seat and knees.

@@palmequipment I'm one of those who paddled using arms and shoulders so this is a new concept for me. I'm just starting out with a sea kayak and I'm aswell to get the technique right first time round so great video
      Thanks
