Central park is huge and the sun is constantly moving, so even on a bright day, these towers wouldn't block any area for more than maybe a half hour at a time. And clouds create shadows all the time. So how is that really a big deal?
A lot of these apartments are used as ways for foreign nationals to smuggle money out of their countries. www.nytimes.com/2015/02/08/nyregion/stream-of-foreign-wealth-flows-to-time-warner-condos.html
28 million for an apartment? Just because it faces Central Park?... no backyard, no basement, and you are probably limited to 1 garage space if there’s even any
And every morning you get that breathtaking view of the park with a single, huge, long, shadow over it. A very unfortunate consideration to have to make. 1:03 And, across the street, so very many angry neighbors who have just recently lost their morning sunlight. Watching you with binoculars as you enter your building. And seeing which floor lights up about a ten minute elevator ride later.
¿ Ansg ? It's a problem for everyone else who has to look at it every clear day. Not to mention the trees in the park who rely on the sun to live. And every year, the tunnel left down below at street level gets darker, and darker. And that is your front yard. Where no sun ever filters down enough to grow flowers.

If the fire alarm goes off at 2:00 am, don’t use elevator
damn never thought of that ... my lazy ass will stay sleeping take my chances its a false alarm
when you want to live in new york but you want to live as far away from new york as possible
One of the coolest looking new buildings in NYC! Love it!
The skyscraper: “so you think I’m SkinnnnYyyy!!! Let me have my moment, LET ME HAVE MY MOMENT. thank you
It looks nice and has an amazing view but taking the elevator at least twice a day for several minutes isn't a lifestyle I dream of and is closer to being a nightmare than anything else!
Just pretend the elevator is a car. By the 1.5 minutes you are already at the bottom and there is so much in the area that you don't even need a car. I'd rather that than drive 30 minutes to place A, 15 minutes to place B, 1 hour rush hour to place C
@@sasailic3006 Perhaps for the people that already live there it's something familiar that they are accustomed to, but I never needed an elevator to enter all the houses I've lived in so far... but I do remember having had to enter my house 4-5 times per day and really can't picture myself doing that in a building like this one!
Except most apartments, especially the ones on the higher floors, are likely not permanent homes for whoever buys them, but rather just an investment or a place to crash when spending a few nights in NYC.
Some times I wish I were really dumb and I did not know that such nice cities or properties exist... I think I would be happier being just ignorant. Marvelous apartments.
Tell me again, how, how does a firefighter come to you? On a helicopter from where? No way. Too windy, too dangerous.
THIS IS AMAZING!!! I could so see myself waking up every morning looking out NYC and scowling at the skyline and "How dare they awake Madame from her slumber au glamour! Now I have to ring for my servant."
A Greek Proverb: “A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they know they shall never sit”. This building is a great example of exactly the opposite of that quote and part of the reason we have the protests going on rn.

UNBELIEVABLE! 3D VIDEO TOUR! Touch the screen and move like you're lookin at the real thing. Congrats on this video!
Now do you take payments ? LMFAO.
The interactive part is pretty novel.
Love the VR element! Very cool
It's terrible how these apartment buildings on billionaires row (which will probably remain empty) cast a shadow on central park for everyone else.

Legend has it that Ruth has been waiting in the lobby for an elevator ever since this video was uploaded.
wouldnt know how skinny it is, since we never see it from the outside!!
28 million for an apartment? Just because it faces Central Park?... no backyard, no basement, and you are probably limited to 1 garage space if there’s even any
I know, right? There's also no place for a sand box, above-ground swimming pool, or a tool shed!
I found a dime on the street yesterday
You can look at Columbus circle and of course at a HUGE shadow your own building casts over the park.
i think the reporter is under pressured, he looks stressed
And every morning you get that breathtaking view of the park with a single, huge, long, shadow over it.
A very unfortunate consideration to have to make.
1:03 And, across the street, so very many angry neighbors who have just recently lost their morning sunlight. Watching you with binoculars as you enter your building. And seeing which floor lights up about a ten minute elevator ride later.
Feeding off the envy of others is as much as entertaining as motivating 👌
The shadow is really not that much of a problem since it covers only a fraction of the view.
¿ Ansg ?
It's a problem for everyone else who has to look at it every clear day. Not to mention the trees in the park who rely on the sun to live. And every year, the tunnel left down below at street level gets darker, and darker. And that is your front yard. Where no sun ever filters down enough to grow flowers.
I love how he refers to the 94 year old lobby as historic, talking about the carved pillars like he's at the colosseum (nearly 2000 years old and actually historic).
is this guy low key roasting rich people the whole time? lol

Amazing building. How many stories ?
I don’t care how much the apartment costs I would never live anywhere I can’t open the window or walk out into a balcony.
And then slipping on a piece of ice that fell out of your 2000 dollar Champaign before plummeting for half a minute onto your gold plated sidewalk below
@@cowmoo5596 Not everyone is 800 pound heifer like you that would break the whole railing off of a balcony if they slipped.
Don't you know they breathe rarified air? Their precious lungs can't handle outside air
Great building. Best one going up in the world right now. The terra-cotta needs to be used in new construction more.
Always a Home Depot shopping cart at every construction site. lmao
I can see why folks are upset about the shade cast on Central Park! I wonder if anyone is monitoring the situation to see if the shade is actually killing or damaging any of the trees or other plants, also have animals breeding or survival rates been affected by the lack of sunlight!! There are other considerations besides human ones when constructing our environments!!!
The shadow of the building would not be stationary in one place. It would move with the procession of the Sun.
These developers need to build living space for those of us who are just trying to make an honest living. We don't needs more elite wealthy pissing on us.
Probably a dumb question, what is the structure on the side of the building ? A crane ? An elevator ? Will it be removed ?
Yes and yes
Thanks
