If they really want to make this more interesting to RUclips to me is if they add toggleable adaptive layers. Let me hit the shy guy or frontrunner button on Mario Kart track, switch to the underwater version of a track on the fly. There's enough Nintendo games that have adaptive audio these days, and it would be a very fun feature.
The one OST i'm waiting for is EarthBound, not because i'll buy the app for an ost i really like, but just, i would like to see it in there out of spite for every single person that has said that EB/Mother songs couldn't be added to Smash Bros. for copyright conflict reasons (despite the fact that they're obviously already songs in Smash Bros. that conflict with the copyright people usually bring up)
the lack of credit is what's ruining it for me. Especially when they went out of their way to make character specific playlists and a SEPERATE category for in universe "splatoon artists". This legit looks like an insult. It's such basic decency that the fact it's not there yet really makes me believe they wont add it unless everyone complains about it for years and journalists start to seriously call them out (they probably won't so I'm not hoping for anything at this point). I'll just stick to youtube, random internet users have more respect for creators than a giant corpo ever will.
Still so upset that we're missing so much of the Splatoon 3 OST😭 especially since the game finished updating for the most part, they really have no excuse... (also praying I don't have to wait like 3 years for Splatoon 2 and 1)
They actually do have an excuse: Ordertune. It comes out in a few weeks, but Nintendo really hasn't tried promoting it. There's no way they would sell an album _after_ putting the contents of said album on their own application. Is it a good excuse? No, but it _is_ an excuse.
As a person who loves Pokémon, I’m worried this could end up somewhat similar to the NSO virtual consoles, where TPC is yet to release GB and GBA games to the service. Sure, Scarlet and Violet have their soundtrack, but I’m worried that a lot of older games will take ages to come to the service despite Pokémon being one of Nintendos biggest series. This’ll definitely be a problem outside of Pokémon, no doubt so it’s worrying to think about how many games could get lost in the shuffle
Yea I’m surprised about how little there is game wise especially some by consoles on there especially with their bigger franchises. Like I’m glad they put games like the tomodachi ost and nintendogs somewhat underrated games but it’s super lackluster in the selection choices. Like they have access to so much osts couldn’t they wait to launch this until they had a bigger library implemented? It’s not really worth using at the moment.
listen i think the app is a smart idea but with literally everything nintendo slowly becoming locked behind nintendo online it just sucks why would i pay however much a month when i can search "BOTW attack on Vah Naboris" and have my desert themed minecraft build be done faster with the bops of motivation
the kieran playlist tempts me beyond anything (+the idea of eventually more character playlists) but without composer credits, the slow drip feed, and how sparse i KNOW kieran and carmine's playlists must be i'm not particularly interested at the current moment. definitely just going to stick to fan options, especially since i love the rainy day overlays on music so much.
3:06 they're almost certainly never going to add _everything._ like, I'm not going to hold my breath for Cornfield Memories from Tingle's Ballon Trip of Love or the Bicycle music from Okaeri! Chibi-Robo!
To be honest people don't need an app just dedicated to Nintendo music. People should be able to use RUclips and be able to post Nintendo music if they credited the parties involved with making the music and don't profit off of said music. The fact that Nintendo is going to great lengths to protect their music like this is absurd and we shouldn't really be ok with that.
As a big splatoon fan I'm very happy with there being a place for all splatoon music to be since there is sooooo many songs and I also like how they add the most simplest of audios, I'm excided for some of my favorite bands and songs to be added
Your playlist concern is COMPLETELY valid! I use something called Plex to store/play my music collection on my phone (RIP iPod Touch, died this year :( ) and I am so lucky it has no max playlist size. I have playlists for all my Christmas music (which I listen to from November 1st to sometime in January, usually), rock music, and calm music that I sleep to (that gets REALLY big because it encompasses classical music, calm instrumental pieces from artists I like, video game soundtracks, etc.)
If I had to guess, they could do a soundtrack a day, but choose not to so that people will maybe keep their subscription up in hopes that their favorite ost will play. I dont think people are holding onto their NSO subscription because their desperate to listen to the Hey Pikmin Ost officially, but nintendo might be dumb enough to think that. They really should just make youtube channel for it, i dont think the channel would make a ton of money but it would save them money, not having to develop and maintain an app like that. Honestly I dont think this app is gonna be around for more than a year or two but hey, maybe im wrong
I think the idea of a nintendo radio would be really cool! Imagine if it was kind of like a fictionalized radio station where a host or hosts would occassionally come in and talk between tracks, maybe having "cameos" from nintendo characters or something? It would have to be pre-recorded to some extent so high-profile voice actors would more easily be able to fit it into their schedules, but a really interesting concept.
genuinely the nintendo radio station would be so cool!! the way i imagine it, there could be daily themes that the station would play music according to or if there was a big release there could be a longer event specifically celebrating that. there could also be ad breaks where new games/features/products could be advertised and there could be commercials from the characters themselves!!! i feel like this fits so much w the concept of the app and would definitely make me want to use the app specifically over a playlist on youtube hehe
One feature that would be really cool would be some sort of stem player, at least for the already sequenced stuff (in fact streaming the sequence data for songs where that's an option would easily take up less bandwidth and severside storage), and also a better way of switching between variants of songs (that could even coincide with the stem player for songs that in-game have layers added to them, like the High-Chain versions of the songs in Mario RPG Remake)
I was pleasantly surprised when they announced the app, I just hoped that the composers were credited because I am very obsessed with songs being credited, I was let down with that, I was also disappointed with the images they used for the tracks, I don’t like how they look kids gives it a cheap feeling, would have been nice some cool album art or something like the Splatoon ones, but those were already made for the game so the didn’t have to do any work for that, I just hope they realize and with an update fix this things
I was honestly kind of bummed that this of all things was made into a drip feed process, even if the output is considerably faster than NSO games on Switch. This feels like a considerably less complicated job in some regards, and it just makes RUclips feel like a more viable option in the end lol The app itself isn’t bad, but it honestly just makes RUclips feel like a more convenient option now, especially with having any OST at your disposal without having to wait a few weeks to have a chance to listen to a soundtrack :(
Honestly I'm just mad about still not being able to listen to most splatoon songs (especially OE (I do have OctoTune but... let me listen to it on my tablet PLEASE))
I'm currently in the process of breaking down my 5000 video youtube playlist of all the songs I've been listening to since elementary school into more vibes based playlists. It is... a process.
Something Nintendo Music doesn't have is fan remixes and stuff like Juno Songs and Man on the Internet's with lyrics covers. And Splatoon songs, especially three wishes, are really nice to have lyrics verbally as an option. If anything I'm surprised they didn't make a version that was translated for that song
While RUclips is still in a lot ways the more appealing option, I think one particular boon that the app has is that a lot of songs are being released in their original audio quality and not the compressed versions we got on original systems. Songs from the Wii in particular hugely benefit from this as that era was basically a transitional point music wise where they were capable of doing so much more with game soundtracks, both with expanded versatility of synthetic music and the ability to easily use live recorded music, but the system still compressed the music heavily. Gamecube and 3DS music will likely also benefit from this as well.
Two things I wish they had done at launch: 1. Put all of the Switch game OSTs on the app. I think it's ridiculous that some games are on there yet. 2. Specifically on the Wonder tracks, I wish they had separated out the Elephant tracks. While it was a fun surprise to first hear them come in on the track, I would kind of just prefer to hear the original track by itself. I'll also say that as much as I appreciate this app, I'm still probably gonna be using RUclips for all the soundtracks that I know will probably not make it on there, like Mario Sports Mix or Smash Bros.
It had been about a year since i had picked up my switch when this launched. I ended up resubscribing to NSO for a year for this app, i had no idea that it would be a drip feed and when i found that out i got sad and played splatoon to feel like i got my money's worth
One dumb feature I'd want implemented in the app is a "most listened" page, be it globally, by game, by franchise, or by playlist. Let me know what the randos of the world listen to the most so I can get mad at them.
I'd submit that adding soundtracks is probably a LOT more work than a lot of people think it is- unless Nintendo has some proprietary method to quickly and seamlessly extend their music, making EVERY song extendable to up to 60 minutes would probably require a LOT of _very tedious_ data entry. Even if they were making _new_ recordings from original audio, that would probably take a significant amount of overhead effort to _gather_ said files. Not to mention there's probably somebody playing every game they wanna add to snap those bespoke screenshot "covers", since I doubt they're settling for Copy Video frame from a longplay. I also wish the drip feed was faster but I don't think it's as simple as "uploading MP3s"
I would've assumed that they have the means to automate at least the audio portion of their soundtrack importing. It's not like every song in their library is as complex as Pikmin 2's Procedural Cave music. Then again, automation assumes that they still have all the assets and code for their _entire_ catalog, just for music playback alone.
Something that wasn't mentioned is the case with Splatoon 3. Being a game that (used to) get music regularly added and has a DLC, you would expect that they have all the music in the game, but it's *only* the launch songs. This means a lot of multiplayer songs (like Chirpy Chips songs) are just... not there, and the entirety of the DLC Side Order is also missing, which is really unfortunate
I think the reason behind the whole drip feeding strategy is to build up hype the same way a big direct announcement would. Its like nintendo wants us to consider each new batch of games that are added to NSO is some big event and not something that was expected at launch.
something i saw that i really liked is that you can hide spoiling music like final bosses and like "song that plays when (your favorite character) FUCKING DIES" songs. that was really smart
Going from James-Money's video about the app, it seems that Nintendo could indeed be emulating the sound chips of the older consoles, because it seems there's some slight differences in how the wii music sounds compared to recordings from the original hardware. So atleast they're not half-assing it unlike how they are emulating their games at the Nintendo Museum with hidden Windows PCs!
I'm for it because there wasn't a whole lot of music I'll listen to besides mario kart and scarlet and violet. There are some things I wish was there but I'll get over it.
Really the biggest thing I wish this app had is an option to choose between Soundtrack CD versions and Game versions. Right now, everything's just using the Soundtrack CD versions if those exist, and that's not always great. Sometimes it is, F-Zero X's CD is less compressed than the cartridge version and also stereo, but most songs aren't as uncompressed as their N64DD versions. The Donkey Kong Country SNES CDs are horrible, they have this awful echo put over all the tracks, and that makes it really funny when they had to newly record Kannon's Klanking because they forgot to put it on the CD in the 90s, which is why the fan name "Mining Melancholy" has existed for like, 30 years, and it doesn't have the echo like the rest of the tracks. Version selection would also be nice, because then Metroid NES and Metroid FDS would not have to be separate albums, but also it'd cut out the eventual disappointment of wondering what game they're gonna add and then it's like, I dunno, the weird GBC version of Donkey Kong Country when the main version's already on the service, but also so it still is there for people who want to listen to that awful rendition of Treetop Rock for whatever reason. Plus I need more weird arrange albums like Super Famicom Game Music and F-Zero X Guitar Arrange.
13:47 u forget that Also Nintendo’s thing has always been special one of a kind experiences that u can only get from them They do that for games so ofc they’d extend it to music So makes sense they’d want to do that for music as well YT isn’t convenient for everyone it doesn’t have sleep mode and not everyone has yt premium
My two biggest gripes are the lack of game soundtracks and the release schedule. There are way too little songs to be releasing one game soundtrack a week. I also think it’s funny the characters they chose for the playlists. No Link, but we got Wiggler. Edit: YES! I make one big playlist! Screw having multiple playlists! And honestly, 2000 songs is minuscule for how much good music Nintendo gas.
Im hoping it gets Bayonetta themed Music. But it would he a total bummer if we only get Bayonetta 2 an 3 music since Bayonetta 1 is still owned by SEGA legally. So i wont download it until Bayonetta is relased on it.

It’s good enough for being new
nah this sucks. Release it when it's finished.
love to see a classic bizabizow music video notification
I can’t wait for sega Spotify
Still so upset that we're missing so much of the Splatoon 3 OST😭 especially since the game finished updating for the most part, they really have no excuse... (also praying I don't have to wait like 3 years for Splatoon 2 and 1)
true! I mean, the entirety of Side Order is missing (and theres no chirpy chips...)
It’s the whole ost
They actually do have an excuse: Ordertune. It comes out in a few weeks, but Nintendo really hasn't tried promoting it.
There's no way they would sell an album _after_ putting the contents of said album on their own application.
Is it a good excuse? No, but it _is_ an excuse.
14;09 I’ve seen people who said it did get them to subscribe
Also entry is basically free
Get a trial or try it for a month for like 2 bucks
It’s not really worth using at the moment.
listen i think the app is a smart idea
but with literally everything nintendo slowly becoming locked behind nintendo online it just sucks
why would i pay however much a month when i can search "BOTW attack on Vah Naboris" and have my desert themed minecraft build be done faster with the bops of motivation
17:47 Bizabizow falls off of Rainbow Road (Wii) in the Spiny Cup of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Edition
Really wished Nintendo handled this like Square-Enix did with the Square Enix Music Channel on RUclips.
I have a bad feeling the endless ocean osts may never be added
I got so Sad when i discovered the only animal crossing game there is(was? Idk) New horizons, the one with (in my opinion) the weakest soundtrack
animal crossing (gc) ost getting snubbed yet again..... lifes hard
the kieran playlist tempts me beyond anything (+the idea of eventually more character playlists) but without composer credits, the slow drip feed, and how sparse i KNOW kieran and carmine's playlists must be i'm not particularly interested at the current moment. definitely just going to stick to fan options, especially since i love the rainy day overlays on music so much.
What frustrates me tho is that there’s nothing from wave 1 or after?? Like why are there missing tracks?? I want my grandfest music!!
5:20 wiggler wednesday is never being forgotten
notice how tys little avatar conveniently covers up her placement in the race? shes trying to hide how much she sucks at mariokart
LMAO
I also make a ginormous playlist with all the music I listen to. The one I have on Spotify is around 2700 tracks lol
glad i'm not the only one bugged by the absence of the nintendo channel music lol
I was immediately smacked by the cozy vibes, take this subscribe
This literally is already blowing up and its been like 57 seconds what-
I think the idea of a nintendo radio would be really cool!
One feature that would be really cool would be some sort of stem player, at least for the already sequenced stuff (in fact streaming the sequence data for songs where that's an option would easily take up less bandwidth and severside storage), and also a better way of switching between variants of songs (that could even coincide with the stem player for songs that in-game have layers added to them, like the High-Chain versions of the songs in Mario RPG Remake)
your voice training is genuinely so impressive, in just a year your voice has massively improved!
honestly a inspiration ngl.
I’m just waiting for more Splatoon 3 music to be added. More specifically the Grand Festival songs.
I just hate that it's only for Nintendo Membership owners, subscriptions suck
I’m hoping in the future nintendo adds some third party games like pac man party and the sonic Ds games
This feels like a considerably less complicated job in some regards, and it just makes RUclips feel like a more viable option in the end lol
The app itself isn’t bad, but it honestly just makes RUclips feel like a more convenient option now, especially with having any OST at your disposal without having to wait a few weeks to have a chance to listen to a soundtrack :(
1:54 (not) shock dodge
BAM
I actually like the dripfeed. Something to look forward to every week.
Exactly
Like buying a vinyl single at the end of the week, instead of mass downloading all the music off of Napster?
Bizabizow with the BEST video topics, that I always expect her to make anyways... I LOVE YOU 💛💛💛💛
Honestly I'm just mad about still not being able to listen to most splatoon songs (especially OE (I do have OctoTune but... let me listen to it on my tablet PLEASE))
It doesn't have the Mario and Luigi brothership OST yet so no, it's bad.
At the rate of 1 game per week,it's probably not going to be on there for a few months if not years
@coinckwac120 and that's why it sucks. It would have been cooler if it was released on the same day or at least a week after.
Y'know true, c'mon Nintendo, I wanna listen to Reclusa's theme anytime :(((
I mean they slapped wonder's on pretty quickly.
@gameyfirebro9645 EXACTLY!
I'm currently in the process of breaking down my 5000 video youtube playlist of all the songs I've been listening to since elementary school into more vibes based playlists. It is... a process.
i wish it was the pibby music app!
What
Something Nintendo Music doesn't have is fan remixes and stuff like Juno Songs and Man on the Internet's with lyrics covers. And Splatoon songs, especially three wishes, are really nice to have lyrics verbally as an option. If anything I'm surprised they didn't make a version that was translated for that song
Your character looks like Velma.
10:16 I’M THE SAME WAY BIZ!!! I literally have a playlist on Spotify that’s 104 hours long 💀💀💀💀
While RUclips is still in a lot ways the more appealing option, I think one particular boon that the app has is that a lot of songs are being released in their original audio quality and not the compressed versions we got on original systems.
Always a fan of these short little "buzzes"!
Two things I wish they had done at launch:
I look forward to every new video of yours
the big biz is the only person who’s opinions i’ll care about for this
omg ty from bibabizow just confirmed she is gilvasunner at the end of the video what!!!1!
opinions? in this video? wow, that's quite a spicy meatball there bucko, im gonna have to give myself a moment before i head into this one!
oh my god finally someone else who has only one mega playlist
It had been about a year since i had picked up my switch when this launched. I ended up resubscribing to NSO for a year for this app, i had no idea that it would be a drip feed and when i found that out i got sad and played splatoon to feel like i got my money's worth
it’ll be worth it when they add origami king’s ost that shit is peak nintendo music
One dumb feature I'd want implemented in the app is a "most listened" page, be it globally, by game, by franchise, or by playlist. Let me know what the randos of the world listen to the most so I can get mad at them.
i literally use the running playlist for my C25K and thats good enough for me
I'd submit that adding soundtracks is probably a LOT more work than a lot of people think it is- unless Nintendo has some proprietary method to quickly and seamlessly extend their music, making EVERY song extendable to up to 60 minutes would probably require a LOT of _very tedious_ data entry.
Then again, automation assumes that they still have all the assets and code for their _entire_ catalog, just for music playback alone.
the game music I want in the future is the Splatoon bottom feeders band and the battle music from Pokémon sword and shield
I'm actually glad we don't have it on youtube so I can listen to their music without any ads without paying any extra money.
Can you imagine if they did a playlist for every instance of Totaka’s song, but never actually put Kazumi Totaka in the credits. Can you IMAGINE
Plus I need more weird arrange albums like Super Famicom Game Music and F-Zero X Guitar Arrange.
it'll be great in 30 years when all the music is on it
13:47
u forget that Also Nintendo’s thing has always been special one of a kind experiences that u can only get from them
They do that for games so ofc they’d extend it to music
So makes sense they’d want to do that for music as well
YT isn’t convenient for everyone it doesn’t have sleep mode and not everyone has yt premium
I wanna know why I can’t listen to Song of Storms over and over I could do it in the game. Why not in the app?
song limit in a playlist being 2000
me looking at my 2400+ playlist on spotify: oh!😅
i really want to see the songs from the game and watch era on there
banger soundtracks man
My two biggest gripes are the lack of game soundtracks and the release schedule.
Thank you for not putting the nintendog final boss theme in here
Ive finally got a use for my online membership
Im hoping it gets Bayonetta themed Music. But it would he a total bummer if we only get Bayonetta 2 an 3 music since Bayonetta 1 is still owned by SEGA legally. So i wont download it until Bayonetta is relased on it.
I mean to be fair, all 3 games + origins official soundtracks are already on streaming services due to the fact that they're owned by sega
the extended thing is a rare case of nintendo not sticking to Not-Invented-Here Syndrome
“The maps playlist is 2,000 songs”
Me with my master playlist that has all my songs in it that’s over 2000: what?
