that was really helpful! I wish someone would have taught me this years ago. I just purchased a "real" running shoe for the first time and although my foot fits into it without any noticeable pressure, the space at the front seems a little short. Having paid a considerable amount of money, I do want to make sure that money doesn't buy me foot injury. It's a little sad that I have probably ignored signs of ill-fitting but cheaper shoes for lord knows how many years. oh well. it's never too late to start paying attention, I guess!

Super helpful, thank you!
Most people wear shoes too small.
it's particularly difficult when your second toe is longest
Absolutely.
why do you need a thumb width's space inside the shoes once fitted?
Movement when you run :)
muttley T your feet swell when you run
Your feet will slide forward each step you dont want them jamming into the front of the toe box, thats how you get that bruising/blisters
wow, that's a great video!
😊
Why are shoes so narrow in the toe box.
I agree, Check out Altra, Lems and Vivo
May someone please assist me... New to fitness... Is half a thumb of space okay in the front of the toe? Not sure I can return the shoes... :(

I have to ask: Are these videos shot in an REI store? Because that is one crazy empty store.
Probably filmed before or after public hours!
why do you think they would film when the store is open?
😊
