Todd, you’ve outdone yourself. That looks scary as hell. A very good how to video! Thanks again for all your help on mine and I look forward to more of your videos! -Kris in Dallas
I watched the whole video ...... I expected the Zombie to rise abruptly and lower slowly. What I saw at the end was so violent I laughed for a minute straight thinking about all the kiddies, elderly and easily frightened people cr*p their pants :)
After seeing this i bought a 12" cylinder, the solenoid, a peekaboo and hoses, 2 drawer slides and a trash can. I'll let you know how it goes! Thanks!@@terrifyingtodd
Hello congratulations and fantastic done very well ... it is possible to have a copy of the project drawings with the measurements and the length of the cylinder and diameter ... thanks for everything
Thanks Christian. Unfortunately I didn’t make any drawings of how I built the prop. The pneumatic cylinder is a 1 1/4” with a 12” stroke. You can definitely use a 1” or 1 1/16” cylinder instead. Check out the Clippard UDR-17-12.
Made over 5 years ago and the cost was around $350. No materials list but there’s a lot of information in the comments on what to buy. Frightprops is a good source for supplies or at least figure out what you may need.
Looking through YT suggestions feed before heading to bed and this video popped up on my feed. This is fantastic! Hopefully there are other videos as going to sub to the channel

Todd quick question regauding the solenoid you used a 110v ac or is it a 12v dc ? Just wondering because you connected to the picoboo which uses a 12v dc adapter for power. Thanks, Gil
Hi Todd, I've been having a problem with the controller I use to control my TCT. I'm using an Arduino UNO/4banger setup that's housed in a plastic pencil box and is mounted in the bottom of the trash can. The problem I'm having is that at a high enough PSI on the cylinder, the sudden stop/shock when the cylinder reaches its max extension causes the Arduino to reset itself, interrupting the sequence. Do you have any suggestions on how to mount the Arduino in a way that will prevent this technical difficulty, or do you think I should use a different controller? Does a PicoBoo controller have a higher tolerance for mechanical vibrations? Thank you very much!
I’ve never had a problem with a picoboo in any of my props. The only thing you could do is remove the Ardiuno from inside the TCT and run a wire back into TCT to control it.
@@terrifyingtoddThank you Todd. That's what I was afraid I'd have to do. I guess the prop would no longer be fully self contained. Do you have an opinion on the sound quality that comes out of the regular PicoBoo controllers compared to the newer MP3 PicoBoos?
Todd what did you use to attach the Bimba? From both ends?...and where can I get those?. also, did you also use these items to attach the rod to the trash can? Thanks
I used rod Clevis on the rod at both ends for the lid. I used pivot mounts on the rear of the cylinder and rod clevis and a pivot mount on the rod. All can be found on frightprops website.
@@snowmobile68 Did you use gorilla glue and water to coat the inside of the mask? After I did that, I sprayed in some spray foam. Then I a wood screw and a washer to screw it in from the top.
Todd I'm in the process of finishing mine up, where did you find your scream file?. The ones I'm finding are very short and to be honest they don't, have the punch like what I hear from yours..
Todd, that was just Awesome! Thank You for taking the time and showing us how to build this prop. Two thumbs up!
Thanks Harvey! I had so many requests for information on the original TCT, that I️ decided to make another with a how to video.
This thing is freaking AWESOME!!
Thanks!!🎃
@@terrifyingtodd this my third year converting my garage into a haunted house. It’s still early. I’m gonna try to build this!
@@furiusstiles3214 Awesome!! Read through all the comments for help with building it. I’ve helped several others build one!
@@terrifyingtodd will do! Thanks for creating this and still responding 😀
Great video thx for posting it
You should make these and sell them. I’d buy one.
Great job!
Thanks!
WOW! It takes a lot to scare the pee outta of me and I think this just might do it! Thanks. gonna check out your other trashcan traumas.
That is an awesome build I need to try to build something like this
Im using that same mask your using
Do you have the link to the sounds that you used for both of your trashcan props?, cant seem to find anything decent. Thanks
I couldn’t find any sounds I liked. I made them myself.
excellent!

Thanks Kris! Happy Haunting!! 🎃👻💀
This thing is AWESOME! I am going to attempt to build one as close to it as I can. Excellent engineering. Thanks for sharing.

I hope so too!!😂 I’ve taken this year off from making anything. I hope to make a monster box in 2024.
This is really cool. What size is the cylinder? Stroke length specifically?
Chad Gibson I used a 1 1/4” cylinder but A 1 1/16” would work better. Both use a 12” stroke.
Hi, on the regulator what did you use to connect fitting to regulator on the video is shows some type of adaptor , if so what size did you use. Thanks

@@ediblepvc5783 The MP3 ones are better but not needed due to the speaker being inside the trash can which adds to the volume.
Todd all I have at the moment is approx a 1" 12" stroke cylinder would that suffice ? thanks!
That should be fine. I used the bigger cylinder because I got it pretty cheap.
@@terrifyingtodd thank you Sir!
Todd one more thing what size wood studs did you use for the frame.
Thanks,
2”x3”
Hi Todd did you use a 31 gal trash can ?
Yes I did.

I used rod Clevis on the rod at both ends for the lid. I used pivot mounts on the rear of the cylinder and rod clevis and a pivot mount on the rod. All can be found on frightprops website.
Todd, yet another question. What is the thread size of the Clevis attached to both ends of the bimba?
The rod clevis is a 7/16-20 and the rear pivot mount and front pivot mount attached to the rod clevis is .25.
Todd, what size slides did you use?
16” drawer slides.
Todd, what is the exact size/description of that Bimba from ebay?
I used a Sr-1212-DP Bimba. It’s a 1 1/4” bore with a 12” stroke. You could also use a 1 1/16” bore if you can find one.
Todd, what are the sizes of the connectors and the air hose that you used? 1/8 ..6mm....? Thanks!!
That’s correct. 1/8 thread connectors and 1/4” or 6mm tube.
Love it Todd!
Where did you get your strobe light? Is it 12volt?
Thanks! The picoboo and the solenoid is 12 volts. The strobe is 110v and the picoboo regulates it like a switch.
The strobe is 110v and I bought it off eBay.
What do you have inside the mask to secure it to the rig? I'm having a hard time with this part.
@@snowmobile68 Did you use gorilla glue and water to coat the inside of the mask? After I did that, I sprayed in some spray foam. Then I a wood screw and a washer to screw it in from the top.

12” stroke
