- My third solo album, 'The Raven That Refused To Sing (And Other Stories)', turned ten back in February 🎂
The album was predominantly my take on the seventies progressive rock style and was based on a series of ghost stories.

My favourite SW record and Drive Home is one of my all time favourite songs. Please consider doing another old school prog rock album in the future.

The whole album is just perfectly crafted, I listen to it during my commute and Luminol is such a great opener.
@izzyalistair Luminol is a world in the world of this album. Every instrument so perfectly, so homogeneous produced, so wonderful progressive... it's a trip, a colorful trip. It's hard to find the right words for me, to describe this great gift in music given to us, English is not my language. 😉
I remember hearing Drive Home in a video game. It blew me away.
I love this album and still hear it regularly. And Drive Home has one of the most beautiful guitar solos of all time.

That is a cracking album. It was my world when it first came out. I had just devoured all of PT’s music and needed another fix and soon after this album dropped. Pure nostalgia of a time and place close to my heart. Thank you Steven Wilson. Your music has touched me deeply.
I got into this album right after it was released, not knowing anything about SW or any other projects. It was quite a trip when i discovered PT and became obsessed as SW continues to create new music

I remember seeing you live on this tour in LA! What a fabulous show! I will never forget the older couple who had seats next to mine. They sadly said that they had a young daughter who passed away and how your music helped them so much through the years. It was such an emotional climax for all of us when you played the title track. Their daughter was named Raven 🌹🌹🌹💔💔💔🐦⬛

I ordered this album in 2013 as it was randomly shown on Amazon, because I liked the cover. I didn't know anything about Steven and his music at that time. What a great luck! Steven is one of the best present musicians. Maybe the best.

dude who produced dark side of the moon was the engineer, wow didn't know that, now it makes even more sense in terms of quality, 10 years after is almost a regular still on a playlists, superb stuff and atmosphere

10 years! Daaaamn. I was early in my college life when it came out. I remember the time period of this album well because I listened to it so much. And it's been a decade since those days.

I got to see this tour with Guthrie / Nick in Chicago, and it was incredible. Sadly Marco wasn't on that leg, but I've see The Aristocrats multiple times in tiny little clubs with a few dozen people.

Personally, I think it's your magnum opus.
The title track really helped me gain consciousness of coming to terms with a mournful passing I could not get over for five years, I thank you for that.

One of my all-time favorite albums! I saw the tour in FL as well. It's been on my playlist since it came out, and I listen to it from start to finish every time. Parts still give me goosebumps.
This is the best album of the last 10 years
The sound, the musicians, the SW creativity... The whole combination makes this a prestige masterpiece. It's impossible to compare with other albums because is in other dimension. I think it will be iconic.

I love Porcupine Tree, I love Prog Rock, I love a lot of what Steven does but there's a few of his solo albums that just haven't clicked for me for some reason and this is one of them (Grace for Drowning and Hand. Cannot. Erase are the others where I love individual songs, but not the album as a whole). There are individual songs on it that I absolutely adore - Drive Home, The Pin Drop, and the title track itself - but as an album it just hasn't worked for me yet. I don't think it's because the other songs are too long (usually I'm fine with 10+ minute songs) but they just haven't connected with me. I'll try it again at some point and maybe it'll click then, who knows!
