Pain with a purpose. That’s such a good saying! Being in pain puts me in a state of anxiousness, but knowing the pain that comes with delivering my baby has a purpose puts my mind at ease.
Thanks for making that so clear! In my first birth my midwife kept saying "oh it doesn't really sound like you're in active labour yet" and didn't see me at home or meet me at the birthing unit until I was already fully dilated and baby was crowning! But now I can know for sure that I can identify how I might feel during my next labour (due next week!) as I've already experienced it before and can relate to parts of your story. Thanks Kira!
You are a very energetic blogger. I’d love watching your videos. I’m in my 39 weeks just waiting for my precious baby. My plan also is to have a natural birth. As i did it already twice🙂.
Feel encouraged after watching your videos. I'm on my 37th week today but it feels like I'll gonna deliver my 2nd baby now because I have consistent contractions now. Excited to meet him! Hopefully, that the labor phases will he shorter as you mentioned with your 2nd child. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I made 41 weeks yesterday and woke up at 2:30 am contracting this is my 5th baby but first non induced, natural home birth. I’m so excited to experience this for the first time! These back contractions aren’t that intense, but it’s only been 4 hours.. And big shout out to you!!! I was born and raised in La, 3 hrs north of Lafayette!!
"And I'm never gonna DO THIS AGAIN!!!" Hahaha yes ☺️ Today is my technical "due date" with my second boy. It will be our second home birth. First birth was a lot more difficult than I imagined it could be. Hoping this one will go quicker. Either way I can't wait to meet our next LO!! God bless love your vlogs.
I'm a student midwife in England, and these videos are giving me a lot of inspiration and information that's helping me through this course. I would love for any advice or tips that are helpful to yourself or the families you care for, thanks x
my due date is tomorrow and i really want an unmedicated birth. i’ve been really nervous and doubtful that i’ll be able to go without an epidural, but after watching your videos i actually think i can do it! your videos are so encouraging and informative! :-)
Just found your videos!! I’m 41 weeks and a day today.. I’m wishing I found you sooner to be my midwife!! I’m in New Iberia, La.. I’m really trying to go the natural route but my doctor is going to induce me @10pm.. He’s been trying to meet my birth plan best he could.. Fingers crossed that I will need little to no intervention.. #prayersplz
@@rastar3524 to be honest I’m recovering from mental and physical trauma.. I still hadn’t gone into labor and I had to get induced.. it slowly progressed and stopped progressing at 7cm.. this was after 12 hrs.. then I was given pitocin to try to get the labor to progress but nothing after 12+ more hours.. I was given so much pitocin I was begging them to not give me anymore, still increased it.. the doctor burst my water bag thinking that would help.. the pitocin had my contractions less that 3 minutes apart.. I was in so much pain all I could do is scream uncontrollably.. I cried everytime they checked me.. every contraction started to put my baby and I in distress, I could see with every contraction that the monitor wasn’t even showing my baby’s heartbeat and then return after it passed.. I had to leave my body and come back in just to try to not stress the baby out.. then after hours of trying to push I had to have an emergency c section bc my baby was in distress too long and my doctor said my baby was to big to pass through my pelvis 🤦♀️.. after delivery my doctor then put me on antibiotics bc he said that blood work showed that my white blood cells were showing a lot of “bands” which indicate a possibility of infection.. I will say my doctor tried to give me the birth I wanted but the only thing that went as planned is my doctor delivering and baby and I being healthy after all that intervention..
@@iamvenus8681 i had to be induced for my first pregnancy, the pain is unbearable. I labored for three days and spent two days with no epidural. It was at the birth center so it was more relaxed. To me ot was traumatic because it was all rushed. During my second birth they broke my water without permission and rushed my birth making me deliver on my back i was scared. This is my third and fear is taking over. How did you heal after your csection, are you guys doing well?
I’m gonna stop obsessing. Two days ago back contractions woke me up out of my sleep. They stopped. Last night I was contracting from 2am until almost 7am. I laid down and they stopped 😒. I’m gonna have to see babies head coming out before I get excited and believe it’s happening.
I'm 39weeks gone and a first time mum, and my EDD is 20th October. But for the past 1week, I have been having this serious stomach pain at night that I have visited the hospital 3times. First time I visited, the nurse that was duty checked me that morning and said I was 1cm dilated that I should go and bring my bags, the pain continued that I had to go back at night, they checked me again and said I was 2cm dilated, and they admitted me, and said since the is there, that when doctor comes in the morning he will induce me so I could dilate fast but I never accepted the idea of being induced so when Doctor came in the morning, the pain was gone totally, I told him I want to go home, he took me to the labour room and went and checked me me and said it was not labour that I can go home. Since then, I keep having the pain, only yesterday that I didn't hear it. So I don't know what is wrong, it's always from 6pm that the pain normally start till morning but no show at all, no water breaking. Please I really need advice here. Bcs when I go to the hospital, all they talk is to induce me, without telling me what is wrong and I don't want to be induced and I also want a normal natural labour. So help me God.
First time mom and I’m 24 weeks due date is dec 23rd and I’m having a water birth your videos are being very helpful bc I’m getting advice from moms that didn’t have natural birth n had epidural n criticism on my natural birth so I’m really loving your videos they are really helpful
I've had 2 of my 3 children born on their due dates. I went into labor at the same time with those two, went into the birth center at 8 a.m. with both, and both born on a Sunday. The odds of having 2 children on due dates are pretty small I'm guessing!
I'm currently pregnant with #5, #1,2,and 4 all came on their due dates. #3 came at 39 weeks. My children apparently really like to be apart of the small percentage 😅
Thank you so much for the videos and encouragement. I love the Bible verse on your banner, God is so good to give us such a sweet reward and strengthens us through the travail! Keep up the work you do. ☺️
Hi, Im from down under, Brisbane Australia. New to this channel. I have 3 boys aged 10,11 and 12 and am currently 34 weeks pregnant with my first girl 🤗. Its been a while since Ive given birth so Im nervous as if its the first time again. Just wanted to say thank you for your videos, they're very informative and you have great tips that Im definitely going to try and utilise in labour. I had my boys all naturally, no pain relief but I wasnt in control of myself. Your videos have given me confidence to have a nice calm, controlled and relaxed birth. They've also educated me alot. Thank you so much! 😊
I am 37w+3d with my 5th baby. I had epidurals with 3 births, and I prepared to go natural with one baby and had to be induced because he was so late. I still did it without the epidural but it was a traumatic and painful experience for me. And I hemorrhaged after. I never wanted to go through that again. However, here I am! Prepping myself to go natural and HOPING this little boy comes on his own so I don’t have to be induced. I appreciate your explanation of the phases and your honesty in telling your own birth story. I am nervous myself because I have a VERY low pain tolerance as well, and I have felt very negative and emotional about this. But I WANT to do it. I don’t like the epidurals side effects, and that’s my why. Trying to hold on to that.
Hope everything went well.. 😊i am 38 weeks and one day pregnant with my second child and because I already have a young one to take care, it felt like time flew till now.. but now I feel it is going very slow.. nervous abt a lot of things.. don't want to be induced at all because I feel it makes labor more painful... I hope I don't have to wait for long
I really wish to have an Epidural becoz i have zero tolerance to pain. My due date is 15 Oct, first baby. And am so much nervous and worried about the contractions and pain. Wish me luck plz.
Due date is today (in an hours time i ll officially be overdue). Been having ireegular contractions all day and my back and hips a killing me. Also pressure in the pelvis, but I dont know when to phone midwife cause Im not having regular contractions (generally 5-10 minutes apart). Sounds like I may be in a very slow stage 1 labour
Lol I know this is a year later, but I'm 40 w 1 d and have been having the same deal here! Do you remember how much longer it took for you to get to regular contractions and into labor? Hope everything went as smoothly as it could have
@@indigo7 Hey, congrats and hope little one doesnt keep you waiting long! I was in slow labour for 3 days, I was having back contractions as Theodore decided to turn back to back (didnt discover this till I went to get checked). I basically silated 1cm a day, on the Wednesday evening, was allowed to go on maternity ward at 3cm. Progressed to 8cm after 16 hours then ended in emergency section as he got stuck and heartrate dropping. But Im 13 weeks with number 2 so it wasnt all too bad if im doing it all over again! Planned section for this one though as those 4 days were horrific for me xx
3rd stage can be painful 😖 Shouldn't of skipped it, when the placenta is delivered and the nurses push on your stomach, it was worst than pushing out the baby.😖
OMG I have two kids and expecting the third and never felt any pain during placenta delivery. So sorry you had to go through that. For me once the head comes out the pain disappears. Congratulations on your bundle of joy
this was funny haha. thank you for sharing. i am 40 weeks 2 days and my cervix is still high so it is frustrating, but i am reminding myself it can change fast! on and off contractions, but nothing consistent yet.
I was induced too for my first pregnancy and boy... it's the worst 😫. Prior to being induced I was managing the pain very well...I wanted a natural birth without pain med...but after being induced I needed an epidural because I was straped to the bed without being able to deal with the pain. I truly want a natural birth without an epidural for my current pregnancy (I know I can do it...) but I might not be able to afford a midwife or doula...any suggestions? Thanks in advance
I think it's kind of unhealthy you want to quiet and slow your labor because your husband has to sleep a little more for work. For Christ's sake, you're IN LABOR. You're bringing another person into the world. What, he can't be late a day?

I think it's very important to tell women about delivering the placenta anyway. Just so they know what to expect and what their body is doing 🤷♀️.

It’s pretty rare! I was trying to look up the statistic because I had it on hand for a client last year but I can’t find it! I’ll keep searching.
Another good idea...as a midwifery student,,thanks a lot maam.
I’m 8.5 weeks and this was very educational! thank u
My first baby was born the morning of her due date! One of an incredibly small percentage 😂
Very cool!

Shout out to Lafayette! I'm from California and I have family in St. Martinville, Lafayette, and Lake Charles, LA.
I'm 36 weeks with my 4th baby. And my second baby was born on her due date! and the 3rd was born the day after!
Love the video!

Lol I day dreamed about every position But on the bed and ony back....but I hoped right out of that tub and ended up pushing on my back 🤯
Me too. It’s rare. Most moms don’t want to deliver on their back but occasionally SOME DO! It’s important we support women to trust their body!
Can you please make a video of high risk pregnancy due to lack of amniotic fluid or severe olgohydominos and how to get a normal delivery.

How did it go?
Love you so much for this information
The most fun way to talk about labour . Thank you. I can keep listening to u all over and over . Thanks

I pushed for 3.5 hours for my first child. Now pregnant with my second. Hoping it’s shorter this time around!

Awww thank you! That means a lot :)
How do you check yourself??
It’s best to start non-pregnant so one can get familiar with their cervix.

Please talk with your dr or midwife about it. I’m sorry I cannot give medical advice.
