- Willora "Peaches" Ephram opened Peaches Restaurant on Farish Street in 1961. During the Civil Rights Movement, Peaches Restaurant served as a safe have for activists and Peaches herself provided Freedom Riders with food despite the personal risk. Since then, Peaches has grown into a soul food mecca visited by the likes of Muhammed Ali and President Barak Obama.

there are special places in Heaven for folks like Ms Peaches. maybe i will have the pleasure of meeting her one day. RIP MS PEACHES 🙏
Thank you ms. Peaches for not leaving your community it’s very important that we support our own thank you may you be bless.🌺
Miss. Peaches is so beautiful!! From the inside out!!
Fried chicken, fried okra, biscuits and gravy, collard greens, catfish and cornbread are mainstays of Mississippi cuisine!.
It's such a blessing 🙌🏽 to see owners first off who have their own business but it's especially a Joy when they've been in business for over 30 years!! Ms.Peaches started back when our society was racially divided and by her cooking Soul Food and Good Home Cooking it keep our Community together!! I do wish her all the very best and much success!!💜💜
Now that's the kind of restaurant I'd eat at every day! The food is home made, from scratch, like it should be.
Type - 2 diabetes meals
Now this is where they should've filmed the tv show "in the heat of the night" instead of in the state of Georgia because Greenville Mississippi has a much more real down to Earth Southern atmosphere!!!

We need more places like this ,good home cooking and God fearing folks,God Bless You All
Damn! This place sounds so good! I hate when Mom and Pop eateries close! Damn corporate restaurants trying to take over. Maybe not in this case. But it's still happening to other home town restaurants.

If you want mom and pop restaurants you have to go there and eat. Not hard just go and eat there . Stop mourning the passing of old places like this. Go eat there. Simple.
This is WHY it is so important that young and old, keep legacies like hers alive. The formula is very simple: patronize ALL of our businesses.
So erotic when that happens
This the kind of History I want my Children to learn about
Location, location, location!!!. Location is everything.
Black Hospitality!

It’s peace and quiet in Mississippi. I so love it and planning to retire.
Get your stomach ready cause there are tons of mom and pop eats still around. May have to drive through the woods but they're still hanging around.

Peaches is such a beautiful lady
Wonderful story about how she started! my great grandmother cooked without recipes as well, my grandmother would watch her and write down what she was doing so she could remember we have some wonderful family recipes we’ve been able to pass down from her. does anyone know how the restaurant is doing through this pandemic?
Yes ma'am that's the year I was born September 1961. Blessings for this family 🙏❤️

I hope one day I will come to America and try its local products. Greetings from GREECE 🇬🇷
it's 2020 and this video warms my heart....
Thank you Miss peaches. For all your blessings all of your service thank you for staying in your community. Nobody but God.❤❤
Some local friends brought us there when my band was on tour and played in Jackson. They told us it would be the best fried chicken we had ever tasted. It indeed more than lived up to the billing. Peaches was not there, but Roderick was and he asked if we had a CD that he could buy for their jukebox! My understanding is that they did indeed put our CD in their jukebox.
I'm sorry to hear that Peaches has died and the restaurant is closed. I'll always remember my meal there.
Love it God bless u and your family beautiful cooking 👑😍😘😍🙏💪
Wonderful lady! I don’t think it would matter what color she is!
Another great American feel good story: we could all support, be proud of, learn or benefit from.
