One of my running heroes back in the day when I ran mile and 880 in high school. Great guy and incredible '72 Olympics race. Never will forget it. Thanks Dave for the inspiration.
I watched his Oly,mpic win on TV in 1972. Nobody could work out what he was doing. He was so far back as if struggling with pace, even though he was the world record holder. Like many college runners in those days he probably never reached his peak He retired at 23.

Spike episode gave him some natural legal doping. Adrenalin is strong booster.
So sad I watched him live win this and now he has to auction his shoes off INSTEAD of donating them to Bowling Green U. To me such a pity IMO!
