  • Hey kids, I have put this video together because I was tired of explaining why Kraftwerk are often called the godfathers of electronic music
Now I leave the talking to Phil Oakey, Human League, hip hop legends Afrika Bambaataa of the Zulu Nation and Grandmaster Flash,TV interviews with Stockhausen, Bjork, Jean-Luc de Meyer, Front 242, Andy Mc Cluskey, OMD, Komputer, Karl Hyde, Underworld, Johnny Marr, The Smiths, Detroit Techno DJs Derrick May, Blake Baxter, Carl Craig, Kenny Larkin. Nice snippets of Andy Fletcher, Depeche Mode, George Clinton, Wolfgang Fluer, Egypt Lover

SAMPLES FROM OTHER ARTISTS USING KRAFTWERK STUFF:
Their works were sampled and were also part of "hip hop" so they influenced that style in that way too. The black community also called them their heroes, as Pharrell Williams and pioneers of "techno" and "electro-funk" often said. Many different genres have used samples and made covers. You can find the music of Kraftwerk in jazz, reggae, and other Caribbean music, classical, Latino, Miami bass, polka, surf music, tango, and metal ...

KW - EVERYTHING IS MAN-MACHINE OR "THE CONNECTION"

Fritz Lang and "Metropolis" showed the working world as a symbiosis of man and machine, but Kraftwerk put it into music and went even further: they also pointed out with their lyrics that this will be a part of social and private life, and also in connection with shopping, doing business, playing, watching, making love, and so on. This is our today. You knew it will be a part of every area in our daily lives. Do you know what it means? If a man wants to achieve his goals, he needs a machine in every area of life.
      1. If you want to drive a car and get from A to B, you need a man to start it, drive it, and motor the car to achieve that goal.
      2. If you want to find out something in Google, you need the man to type words for it, and the computer searches for the entries.
      3. If you want to talk to someone on the phone, you need yourself and the machine to connect and make contact.
      4. If you want to boil water, you need both ...
      5. If you mow the lawn ...
      6. If you use an electronic toy in any way ...
      7. If you use the "electro-cardiogram" ...
      8. If you control "power plants" ... No matter what field, this is the concept of our world.

Nope. The Grateful Dead produced Electronic Techno in 1966. Listen the Acid Test reels. Kraftwerk built on those electric sounds. Listen to Iron Butterfly, Inna Gada Da Vida, if you want to hear the first four on the floor house beats. The Iron Butterfly drum solo is the real birth of House music on wax in 1968.

@MrSYSTEM20 Kraftwerk inspired TG... as a matter of fact, Kraftwerk has always been more avant garde than TG, just give a good listen to their debut album and Kraftwerk II... BTW TG are widely credited (widely mentioned) with creating industrial music, a huge mistake industrial music as such begins only and just only with the Great Conrad Schnitzler (who rarely gets mentioned)

Kraftwerk were totally original.........I HATE IT ........when people STEAL other peoples music....... sampling?? WHATEVER! Create your own shit man! Or.....give artists CREDIT! Kraftwerk started hip hop ..at least the music part. and they also were some of the first artists to do RAP in the early 70s!!!!! They actually helped the new black sound of hip hop with their own brand of electronic beats!

Bambaataa just copied Kraftwerk. Unlike today, where Hiphop is extremely creative, then it wasn't musically. But the lyrics brought Hiphop where it is today. Techno was always without lyrics.
