Hi David, good to have you in our lovely country Ghana. Feel free to stop by to taste our Amazing ginger sugarcane juice. Free for you :) . Just Google Thomas sugarcane juice.
I worked with a gentleman from Ghana in the South Bronx about 27 years ago. He had the best reply when I asked him how it was going. He said, "Chief, we are just ordinary people doing extraordinary things." Always had a smile.
I just started a job as a chef below Ghanaian, I love the guys atmosphere and how he works in his kitchen everything's fresh and hand prepped, big difference from majority western world food kitchen I've worked in
The palm tree s one unique tree. the whole tree gives soo much 1) soup, oil, palm oil 2) the shell from the fruit can be put on the floor as coal tail , 3) the chaff from the fruit is very flammable and can be use to lit fire 4) The tree branches produce broom people use to sweep 5) The actual tree when it is cut down, it produce palm wine 2 types of wine actually, the sweet one and the fermented one 6) The tree also produce mushrooms when it is dying and it also produce some types of animals people eat. 7) the whole branches is also used on palm Sundays to worship God. The palm tree is pure gold
"Hausa koko" is a spicy millet porridge which originates from Northern Ghana. Millet is a very nutritious grain. The GaDangme people of the Greater Accra Region also grow millet. The Akara or Kose donut (doughnut) made from black eyed beans flour (skin is removed before the flour is milled) is also very nutritious. The beans flour is mixed with spices and then fried. The peanuts add protein, and the Akara (Kose) beans donut also has protein! This is a nutrition packed vegan breakfast and it's mildly spicy and delicious! 🙏🏽😊🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭
I loved the roof top perspective shots - I can see the entire market in it's entirety and then you walk through it. It feels like I'm actually there. The people are wonderful and friendly. I wish to go one day.
That's just a portion of the market it goes on for blocks and blocks . It's basically a district for local trade and business. But kejetia and adum market in kumasi, Ghana are twice the size of this.
Your Channel was recommended to me by a friend and I was not disappointed I enjoyed watching you in Ghana the way you immersed yourself in the food and the culture was just wonderful. Have you traveled to the West Indies my family are from Barbados and Antigua you would love it and the food . Keep doing what you’re doing and stay blessed
Smoked and dry fish out there because refrigeration came late so that's the way to preserve stuff. Not all of Africa is hungry, in West Africa there's food everywhere
I could watch these carvers all day. What a bunch of skilled craftsmen. I know they expect bargaining, but I would gladly pay what they asked. You would pay 4-5 times that in the USA.
I loved the largest market in Ghana it was great!!!! They have everything there!!! The food looked not only delicious but its healthy the plant on avacodo and various vegetables the men were eating!!!! I loved the fabric area and also the second hand clothes I loved them both!!! The fabric area has pretty patterns!!!! The prices are reasonable what's not to like!!! That porridge with the peanuts he was eating made me hungry along with what the two men were eating towards the end of the tour. Mmm Mmm good!!!
Now show us black/ people of African descent being treated so kindly and accepted exactly this way in a caucasian/white man's country... Black people don't be deceived. We are the most kindest, most loving, most accepting, most sharing, most caring, most forgiving, most selfless people of mother earth. After all the evil and wickedness this group of beings have done to us historically, presently, globally; we still show them hospitality and kindness...
In 2022, God Willing, I’ll be making my first trip to Ghana and I’m trying everything. I’m so excited about learning other cultures and eating different foods. Yes. I’m stepping out of my comfort zone.
George P, I visited Ghana in June 2019. The Ghanaian people are very nice. I am sure you will enjoy your visit. The Ghanaian women are very beautiful and very friendly. I was there for 16 days. I went to the market in this video. I also went to the Mole National Park
@@gfrank87 I am an old white American man with long white hair and beard. Everywhere I went the Ghanaian people were nice and respectful. The Ghanaian women are beautiful and very very friendly. The food is spicy but very flavorful.

Makola market❤️I visited it almost every day when I was in Ghana. Hausa koko and koose/akara are my favourite breakfast. Ghana is rich in everything including hardworking beautiful people. I wish they could enjoy their country more. Nowdays there are more plastic and old clothes in the sea than fishes and fishermans are poor and their lives in danger every day.🙏🏻
This is the biggest reason I want to go to Ghana is because west Africa has such a creative food culture and unique ingredients you’ll never find in the US. Palm oil and ginger in soup, giant snails, millet porridge. It’s amazing 18:55 how beautiful and unique. We don’t see any of those in the US 😁
Your tour guide wasn’t that informative either. He kept generalizing. The sponge for bathing is just one of what we use to bath. There’re other forms of sponges. He was taking you to almost all the poor places in Ghana. There’s so much in Ghana. I’m sure there’re lots of poor places in Brazil also but the tour guide in Brazil took you to some very nice n exotic places. It was more balanced. There are so many beautiful places in Ghana.
@@IsabelLisas I believe David tells the guide where he wants to go and the guide literally takes him there. Don't blame the guide for not seeing places you expected to see.
Wow awesome video....my dad is a onion seller in that market and you were close in his zone, between 7:45 and 7:51. This is a good coverage I think about 30% of it, there is more to this market.
