Just got my Inspire Prayer Bible yesterday, it is my most prized possession now 🥰
I listened and saw your problem coloring in this Bible. When paper has little or no tooth to it then Prismacolor pencils do not work very well. They are too waxy and soft for that type of paper. This is why colorists own different brands and types of colored pencils depending on the paper they are working on. I would suggest you buy a colored pencil with harder lead. I own Crayola (less pigment but not bad) and several Chinese Brands of hard lead pencils to use on that type of paper. Also you might want to try Faber Castell Polychromos. They are oil based instead of wax based. You will need to try different types of pencils with harder lead and see which ones will work better for you. You should never have to press hard with colored pencils when layering. Many times, books printed by the same company will not be the same. That is why you need to always test your pencils first on that paper. Either in the front on a title page or in the back somewhere. Never assume all paper is the same and never assume you can color every type of paper with Prismacolors.
I get that... I'm just not rich and Prismacolor Premier color Pencils collection like this is already expensive to hear that I have to buy different pencils to use this bible is very disheartening to hear. I'll be praying God will provide what is needed for me to use this bible. Thank you for sharing this information I know it will help others that watch this video too.

Cat woods no use your goldfabers they are also oil based just build in layers they will work much better than prismas

I don't know if anyone else may have suggested this but perhaps using gesso may give more grip to the paper. Dina wakley has a clear gesso for like 10.00 and can be bought on Amazon or probably alot of craft supply stores. It may be worth looking into. Beautiful coloring! Love the pencil bag as well. 😁

Gel pens work great.
bible pages are made with scritta paper... and often have that wax coating to prevent the pages from sticking together. :D as for what to use on them...i don't know! lol
Hi Cat, I agree that the paper doesn’t do well with the prisma color pencils. I never even thought to try a different type of colored pencils, I’ve loved prisma color so much. Thanks for the update, it was so helpful. ❤️
Have you tried spraying the page with a fixative? Krylon makes the fixatif spray. It might help your pencils go down better.
Cat, you are sooooo talented! These are just beautiful. I just recently (a few days ago), got the Catholic Inspire NLT Bible that I ordered from Amazon, and I’ve colored only a few pages. I can see that it will take lots of time and practice for me to do as nice a job as you do, but I am enjoying it so much! Besides the PrismaColor pencils, I also used some Faber Castell watercolor pencils that I had from years ago, and they make beautiful, vibrant colors, but I am trying to learn the finer aspects of how to handle them. But the watercolors do NOT bleed through, so that is great! 👍 Thank you for another great video...I am going now to check out your coloring videos! 🙂❤️ Have a blessed week!

2 years later but this is absolutely gorgeous! I have a Creative Bible and a couple videos on my channel. I was using polychromos pencils but changed to prismacolor and they work SO much better! Yours is lovely!

I ordered the hard covered (gold color); it is a beautiful bible. I owned a few brands of colored pencils, including a few Prismacolor.
Here are a few brands of colored pencils that I recommend because I have used them. Arteza has excellent reviews. Some people put them at the same level as Prismacolor; Amazon sells them but compares prices with the Arteza website many times they have better prices than Amazon. Arteza customer service goes above and beyond, and they are based in Miami, FL.
Another good brand is Castle Art. You can buy them on Amazon; the prices are affordable, and another brand is Zenacolor. This brand is OK; both brands have excellent customer service if anything is wrong with their products.

If you knew me, I am the type of person that I don't like to pay full price for anything :) I look for coupons, discount, free shipping and I have installed an extension call wiki buy which automatically search for deals.
I wait for deals on Amazon, my Art Castle 120 colored pencils I think I paid $25, it was a lighting deal on Amazon, and the Arteza also was a lighting deal and I paid $59
I am still waiting for the Prismacolor to go on sale; I have been eyeing the 150 Prismacolor premier, but the price is a bit too high.

Hi Cat @12:24 you are holding the Verithin Prismacolor Pencil. Those are the hard core type of pencil in that brand. The Premiere are the Soft core.

No not really I love this New Inspire Prayer bible because it has all new artwork inside. I just need to change the way I color. I've been told about trying other color pencils out so once I can afford to buy new colors Pencils I will try it out

I have the Inspire Praise and I consider those pages the perfect texture and color, pages are not nearly as thin as most Bibles..

I loved seeing your supplies. Right now, I just have the 36-pencil set of Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils. But I'm already wanting more colors, so I'm hoping to save up for the Prismacolor Premier set of regular colored pencils. I'm also planning to buy the same tote bag, but in a different color. I was glad to see it up close.
I was glad to learn about the Inspire Bibles; I'm disappointed in the quality of the pape, so I may not buy that.
Your work is beautiful, such vibrant colors. Even the first one, the one you said you did while just learning, is gorgeous. Using the black pen to add dimension is fine to do. The birds look great & so do even the lighter color flowers.

Maybe watercolor pencils would work better on this Bible. Watercolor pencils are less waxy.

I totally get what you are trying to explain. The my creative bible for girls has that same type of bible paper you are describing for the inspire prayer bible. I like to blend and layer too and that’s kinda been an annoying challenge.

Hello my beloved sister... which one of these has the largest print? I am seeking a 16 point font or larger... I’ve lost sight, temporarily, in my left eye, and need the super giant font. I honestly cannot find any of the journaling single column Bibles that have the super giant font size. If you know, I truly appreciate your input. Thank you:.: love you, love you. Prismacolor pencils are very waxy. Try ones with less wax! Crayola works great!

I think that sheen is to help when you use markers. So many people complained that their markers bleed.
But the paper is soooo thin
Can i color inspire bible with markers? Or even mildliners? I rarely use colored pencil, but i love using markers or colored gel pens for any journal of mine, so i wanna know if this bible can hold up markers / highlighter / brush pens
No the paper way too thin. It's on Bible paper nothing like a coloring book

I understand the Bible reviews are the main theme of your videos, bu I’d love to put a face to your name. Am I the only one who wonders who is talking?
No I get this question every week
Rather in comments like your or FB PM or emails. And my question is always the same. I won't ever show my face. I channel is Only focused on God and my spiritual walk with Him. Whenever I see Christian Channels were the person shows themselves in the video mostly all of their audience attention is on them and not on the bible. Just try to watch the person while they're trying fo share a bible with you. It's impossible to really see the bible. And if they are speaking about a message most of what they're saying is just going in one ear & out the other. Because without even noticing it we are more focused on what their wearing or how they're apply that cat eye eyeliner or what lip gloss and so on. So noooooo I want all my videos to help guide you all into your bibles not give you more reasons to stay out of your bible thinking about things we already spend so much time on. I will only bring Glory & Praise to God's kingdom. Maybe one day the Lord will lead me to show myself but for now. I am only A Creative Tool for God

Fabre castell you have are water colored that’s why they are so light

Cat woods the goldfaber pencils if you look on line that is one of there watercolor pencil lines and the other albrecht durer the goldfabers are the cheaper ones and albrecht durer set is the more professional line, I have both and watercolor painter, I promise they are! They are very nice too lovely to use 😉 enjoy in fact, Fabre castell is one of the best lines of any artist pencil lines you can buy! Exceptional quality line from germany
Or you actually may have the set under the polychromo’s which is a regular colored pencil, look up on Fabre castell website, it will tell you which ones you have & if you have the regular not water set then they are considered oil based not wax like prismacolors and with oil based pencils you must build with layers and they become darker with more layers you use. Try it still a serious quality you can’t go wrong with any Fabre castell products! Btw, always watch your reviews and thanks to your channel I ordered the the illustrated NLT study Bible and have enjoyed immensely thank you so much for taking the time to do these reviews, it was a real blessing to me!!! It has been an absolute joy to study with!

No nothing like that. It's like a regular bible paper if you have a Application Study bible or a chronological Life Application Study Bible both of these feel the same way. I'm sure there's more too. It's the publisher that Tyndale uses and they use the same paper in all their bibles (I'm guessing not 100% facts) just from what I have on hand now. Hope this help you understand a bit better sis
@@catwoods5499 oh ok I see. Yes I do have the chronological bible. I love the paper. But I know what you mean, its not a good paper to write on. When I make notes I have to pause for the pen to dry.
