Yay another video from my favorite youtuber! Thanks for posting, I've had a really bad week in regards to my disability but this made my day so much better. Have a fantastic night and safe travels!
In America, there’s no registrations for service animals. Under the Air Carrier Access Act is following our law with not accepting any registrations. But we have to fill out paperwork before we fly so they know we have a service animal.
That is correct - and another difference between the US and Canada is that TSA can pat down a guide dog in the United States. They are supposed to only touch the harness and collars but I have had a few go overboard on the pat down and have been very uncomfortable. I have since taken my guide out of harness because I don't want to deal with that ever again.
@@GuidingApe I’ve heard of that. But I’ve only flown twice and it was a two way trip. But i didn’t have a service dog in 2018. I trained my SD in 2020. But I could believe that really.
Sad to see that your travel experiences have not improved, over the last 2.5 years that I have witnessed your call-centre experiences. Not sure how you remain positive despite the run around you can always count on when you call. That Patience is great dog!
I am going on my first flight with my first guide dog and I am scared my trainer said my girl will be fine but she is not what most think of as a guide dog she’s a white standard poodle and people get weird about it this made me feel better
One of my friends has a standard poodle as a guide dog and flies all over the world with her. I’m sure you’ll be just fine. :) it can be stressful your first time for sure, but just make sure you advocate for yourself and everything will go perfectly smoothly. Oh and if you want to see another guide dog user with a poodle check out Poodle Eyes on RUclips!
@@UnsightlyOpinions Thank you so much for replying it really means a lot to me. I am subscribed to poodle eyes she was the first one that I watched after realising I had to have a poodle if I wanted a guide dog (I have other health issues that mean I can’t have a shedding dog) but this video really helped me a lot. I am really nervous and I am a nervous flyer anyway. Luckily I am going with my mom so that will help a bit and we have TSA pre check because my trainer recommended it so that I wouldn’t get too freaked out and overwhelmed but I am still worried
Thanks this has been really useful. I'm flying with my guide dog for Christmas and I'm still a little clueless about the airport and plane for her because she has never flown.. We live in the UK and I don't know if the security rules are the same, I hope so because I don't want to be separated from my dog, or to have to take her harness or lead or collar off, she would run away for sure. So here's hoping, but this has been really useful, thanks for sharing.
I’m so glad you found it helpful! I’ve never been asked to remove my dogs harnes when I’ve flown in the UK so I think it’s probably the same. If someone is asking you to do something you aren’t comfortable with just ask for their patience and try to explain what works best for you. I find that tends to alleviate a lot of frustration. :) good luck on your flight!
@@UnsightlyOpinions oh thank you for response it went well Maui actually had more trouble settling in at my cousins house with the cats but we made and will be heading home in a couple of days and hope it goes as well but Maui did amazing and she surprised us by using the puppy toilets
I love this! I. Love. Guide dog travel videos. I even plan to do one of my own soon. This was so much fun to watch. Probably not so much fun to go through. I cringed when your flight was canceled; I know I would have beenincredibly stressed had that been me. You handled it like a total champion. I did have a few questions I hoped you could answer for me. Do you have enough vision to know if you’re in the camera’s frame when filming on your own? If not, what’s your secret to blind girl filming alone! :) I am absolutely just assuming you were videoing yourself; i could be wrong. Your audio was really amazing. Do you have a microphone that you’d recommend for situations like this? Thanks so much for any answers and I can’t wait to see what you post next.
Thanks so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I can’t tell when I’m in frame and you are correct I was filming myself! My secret is using voiceover to get the shot lined up first with the audio assistance it gives then when I’m in position turning voiceover off so it doesn’t talk through my recording and starting the filming by hitting the volume buttons. I am told that I often clip my head a little bit, but what can you do haha. As for audio all I did was film on my iPhone then put it through noise reduction software. Hope that helps!
@@UnsightlyOpinions You did a great job. I can’t see it, but it was still awesome. I love the independence in it, even when it’s more difficult. I think it’s a silent message that says, yes. We can film ourselves. It might not be studio perfect, but guess what, we’re real people. Thank you so much for the tips. I’m actually quite touched you were willing to share yours with a newbie. I’ve come to realize secrets are guarded pretty heavily on RUclips. Can I ask one more thing-what audio reduction software you use that is screen reader accessible? Then again, this is assuming you use a Windows computer? I’m stuck with windows currently myself. Anyway, enough rambling from me! Keep up the fantastic content. I’m watching videos as I get some free time to do so and love what I’ve seen.
I’ve noticed that myself! I Feel that we should have as many voices in the blind and visually impaired community on the platform as possible to show the differences in blindness, so I’m happy to help and share anything I can :-) oh I unfortunately am on a Mac so I use Final Cut Pro to edit my videos, which has built-in noise reduction features as an option.
@@UnsightlyOpinions I am so jealous of all you lucky MAC users. LOL! One day, I will join the ranks! I’ve heard pretty awesome things about Final Cut Pro. For baby projects which usually find their way onto Instagram, I use iMovie. Otherwise I use Reaper, and I’ve not figured out noise reduction there yet. I tried earlier but… nope. 4 hour long editing session. *headdesk* I’m of the same opinion you are. I love checking out other blind content creators. Learning from them. Our voices matter so much. Thank you for all your answers, really. It’s appreciated more than I can say. Every little bit helps, you know?

Should be great. Poodles are some the smartest dogs out there, why circus clowns use them for tricks, as well as cute.

Hi. What state you live in?
How are you blind and driving a car I dont get it
I am not driving a car. I'm guessing you are from the UK. The driver sits on the left here. :)
