I hope you guys enjoyed the video and got a better idea of the food situation at Trinity College.

this is sooooo different than how it used to be. fascinating! we were required to have a meal plan too but it there was only one and it was 3 meals day. every meal was all you can eat. no flex dollars for a coffee or whatever - just meals were covered. dinners were always formal (gown required, latin prayer) except for the weekend. weekend breakfasts at strachan were the best. no where near this variety. wow chocolate bars??
So interesting to hear how Trin used to be!!! I think we lost a lot of traditions with the pandemic and they've never been brought back :( I started in fall 2021 so the year above me who are graduating now never had the real traditions either. Maybe one day they'll bring back formal dinners with the gowns. I think they've also worked to expand the food selection since there are so many international students these days!
@@bela.at.trinity even 20 years ago (yikes i'm old) there was sooooo much cultural diversity and lots of international students, but, yeah, they didn't have a lot of food options that were non-western. a little, but not a ton for sure.
I’m so surprised at the lack of gowns and especially that it is no longer all-you’d-like-to-eat. There was no swiping of any meal plan card twenty+ years ago.
@@heathercoffey4159 right? i think our "meal cards" were made of paper haha. i was 0T3 (but only in residence for first 2 years) so maybe we knew each other :)
@@OriharaKaoru I was 0T0 but while I lived in St. Hilda's for three years, I lived off campus in my final year :D But we could have crossed paths.

OMG. I started watching your videos last year to find out more about colleges and help my son. I have watched this particular video once, but now, on second viewing, I see my son behind you at 5:29!!!!! I just sent a link to him.

@@bela.at.trinity He is. I sent him this video. Say hello if you see him. Tell him about your Sevilla summer. His father's mother lives there now, so he knows the city and has been a few times. Maybe he can go for a summer abroad somewhere. He just applied to major in math, which is open, but hoping to change that to stats next year when he completed some more required courses (calc 135/136!!!)and applied for a history major (limited). Hope he gets in. Doing very well so far (A and A- grades). In the meantime doing: Major in math and a double minor in history and statistics.

Quick question: can I use the t card to eat at other dinning Halls within uoft?
If you load T Bucks onto it, I believe so. But you can't use your dining hall money at trin elsewhere.
