  • George Lakoff talked about his book Don't Think of an Elephant: Know Your Values and Frame the Debate: The Essential Guide for Progressives, published by Chelsea Green Publishing Company. He described the elemental differences between conservatives and progressives and traced the differences in political ideology between the parties to differences in the idealized family model. He said conservatives follow a "strict father" model while progressives follow a "nurturing parent" model, basing his findings on research he has conducted as a linguistics professor. He used the differences in these two models to "reframe" reactions to many current issues, such as Hurricane Katrina, Terri Schiavo, abortion, gay marriage, and the recent Supreme Court nominations. After his presentation the author answered audience members' questions.

Begins logically, then starts reframing his argument to his own world view. Subtle enough to hook you in if you lose your alertness. Klaus Schwab does the exact same thing.

Calling fascists conservatives is part of the frame. Mussolini defined fascism (and who was more qualified to do so?) as the perfect relationship between the corporate sector and the state. Thus, the military industrial complex. There are only degrees of socialism and fascism

newsflash, the country has been fascist for a very long time under both parties, when big government and big business collude that is one pillar of fascism.

Standing for individual freedoms. Exposing political bias in media. The nine years since this video have demonstrated well how ignorant and hyperbolic this speech is.
