Just understanding light and heavy attacks, and where they fit in gave me the confidence to practice in the wide world and after seeing some success hitting the groups. Thank you

Your patience and consideration with newer/learning players, and builds that are accessible to people that aren't all years in and book-full on dlc dungeons and trials. I'm a 7 year vet. Videos like this are invaluable at helping teach new players that just want to compete and not be discouraged. Thanks a lot bro!
I have been struggling with this for such a long time. I even have an add-on called Combat Metronome that puts a bar on the screen to visualize when you have to light attach again, but I always got confused and was watching the bar even during boss fights. When you said at the and just to concentrate on the right rhythm: "click-click-stop...." it finally clicked and realized that even the Combat Metronome Addon works exactly the same. Thank you!
I’ve been playing this game for years and had no idea you could use a skill while channeling a heavy attack. I always waited to use a skill after the attack hit. and it just became habit.

Finally, something that actually makes this mechanic make sense. This whole time I’ve been doing skill, attack, skill when it should have been attack, skill, stop, attack, skill, stop. 🤦🏻♀️ Went from dealing 8k-10k dps to 27k dps within an hour because I accidentally did it while running a vet dungeon and realized I was actually dealing some decent damage. I guess I had my moment of realization that every light attack weaver’s been talking about. 😅 still need to get it higher, but I’m sure that when I have enough champion points it’ll go up more. Now I just need to get my fingers used to doing it.

Oh cool, I've actually been doing something like this but more for getting things like the life drain weapon enchant proccing or getting stamina back for heavy attacks. I'll play about with the animation cancelling though, thanks for this!
Xynode I love your stuff and I hope everyone watches this video and learns how to weave. But some of what you said is wrong. 1:18 and 3:48 You cannot cast a light attack during the second after you cast a skill, while the animation for the skill is playing. I think what you were meaning to say is the light attack animation is only there to look shiny, but you can cast a skill instead of it. At 3:48 you again say you can cast a light attack during the skill animation but that you advise people to do it in the other order. This is not the case, the other order is the ONLY way to do it. You can cancel the LA animation. You cannot cancel the skill animation with a LA.

I was looking forward to this video! But I still have an issue that I don't understand. I'm heavy attacking with a restoration staff and trying to queue a skill but about half the time it just starts another heavy attack instead of making the skill go off. Is there a more specific timing for when you queue up a skill with a restoration staff because the channel is a little bit faster? I always do it while the heavy attack is going so I don't know if it's a glitch or if I'm just missing something.
Wow ok. Got it. I kinda wish the game's animations matched their cooldowns so people could pick this combat system up intuitively. This is just bizzare.
I think this may help some more experienced players, but those who are new really want to understand why NOTHING happens when they push the skill buttons. They may even be good players otherwise, but can't get the game to react to their skills.
Im an experienced player and i still struggle to light attack weave, specifically with wreching blow only.. i dont understand why but wrecking blow specifically i keep failing
@@matthewsanders1154 Yeah that's the crazy thing. Unless you are doing vet hardmode content, you are now a DPS Tank. The build already has you being super resistant and hard to kill while already doing great damage, but with that you are doing even more damage while keeping your target where you want it. As a DPS I've been queuing as a Tank now. Doing tank things like keeping the boss taunted and turned from the group. Works out phenomenally.
@@matthewsanders1154 for 1 bar eazy sorc not a problem lol I tank boss in Vaa without any problem with that build. Baze game dungeons are eazy anyway and if you know boss mechanic you can tank any basic vet dungeon with one arm, that's how eazy it is
Hi Xynode, many thanks for this video. Would you consider making a similar video for 1 bar magcro's? Reason I ask is the cast time for the Gravelord skills are kind of all over the place.
With this I feel like Dark Conversion from the Dark Magic skill line from Sorcerer is badly programmed, I use it sometimes for sustain and it definitely doesnt have the same timing for weaving as other skills even though it isnt channeled, in fact ive never been able to weave it, and even when I use it it takes time for the heal to happen, ive gotten killed before because I casted this skill but the animation didnt play in full so the heal never happened, thinking of dropping this skill entirely honestly
yeah you can do so, if you want to get banned. Macros are strictely forbidden, and if ZOS ever get to know you are using one (doesnt matter if a detect program finds you or another player reports you) you will get perma-banned instantly without an oppurtunity to defend yourself :D
@@xmaxdamage The game doesn’t force you to do this. So I idk where you and OP’s argument even find any validation. If it irks you so bad, then wait a literal half second in between normal attacks and abilities. Even then, I don’t know a single reasonable person who would trade overall better DPS so their toons attacks look better.

My first and main is a stamblade. I practiced weaving with a metronome. However, I just learned heavy attack weaving from this vid.

Inner Beast skill gives an unnamed 10% increase in damage buff. Very underrated for a 1 bar heavy attack easy sorc build.
It's a taunt. Unless you are a tank you do not need this. For solo play whatever
