- In celebration of Flying Scotsman's past, present and future, I give you a short film made by yours truly. =)
thescotsmanreturns.deviantart....
Funnily enough this video started of as another simple video similar to that of Tornado: The Legend - • Tornado: The Legend
But then after much talking and thinking, more and more stuff got added to it. Including a script, more than one music track, and a whole bunch of extra stuff.
First of all a big thanks to everyone who helped with this production. Namely all of the voice actors, you guys are awesome for putting up with me so well. :P
Extra thanks to Daniel Long (tardisrescue) for constantly nagging me to change the setting of the first scene from Doncaster Scrap Yards to Kings Cross Top Sheds. (he said accuracy was a must here ;D)
This film is also dedicated to every single person who has and will keep Flying Scotsman running for many years to come. As well as the National Railway Museum for spending so much time and money on the overhaul. The estimated year of completion is reported to be 2015.
If you've made it this far into the description then I thank you, don't forget to like, comment and subscribe.

I think we all owe Mr. Pegler for giving Flying Scotsman a second chance and may Mr. Pegler rest in peace.
and sir william mcalpine who saved it from an almost certain doom in the states
It just go to show people love for steam engine and even during these darkest hour steam will never be gone for ever long live the steam engines of the world 🚂🏆
I think we owe both Mr. Pegler and Sir William Mcalpine for bringing back the legend that lives and will live on forever and ever.
Yeah
LONG LIVE THE FLYING SCOTSMAN, THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE KING OF STEAM!!!!!!!
This will forever and always have my seal of approval, not just because of the content but because of the excellent use of the How to Train your Dragon soundtrack. This was a brilliant, an excellent piece of editing a a testament to yourself and the voice actors you have working with you. Great emotional video. Keep it up lad.
Thanks man :)I'm a fan of your series, it's so lovely to hear a comment from you. ;)
TheScotsmanReturns Glad to hear it mate :)
@@TheScotsmanReturns what is the theme for the music when flying Scotsman fulls the passenger when Alan is desd
Dead*
I've especially wanted to mention that I personally felt shockingly surprisingly pleased when Alan Pegler generously preserved the famous locomotive designed by Sir Herbert Nigel Gresley known as the Flying Scotsman who'd eventually went bankrupt during the Flying Scotsman's own official USA rail tour UNTIL another gentleman stepped in to help with the low funds simply just to resume the rail tour! Well, as of @ least UNTIL the other preservation owner also apparently went bankrupt leading up to the Flying Scotsman BASICALLY heading off right over to the National Railway Museum in York where it worked for some time UNTIL getting withdrawn from service! However, it'd probably be a really nicely definitely good deed for a kind train-loving enthusiast like me to simply the famous locomotive designed by Sir Herbert Nigel Gresley known as the Flying Scotsman into another fine life on preservation by just SIMPLY modifying the famous locomotive designed by Sir Herbert Nigel Gresley known as the Flying Scotsman with official automatic couplers as well as a specifically awesome cowcatcher in front to move livestock along with other debris from the tracks as well as a specifically shiny brass bell to announce Flying Scotsman's arrival in stations, or even in any kind of specific railroad train yard as well as through railroad grade crossings WHILE seriously traveling tremendously @ his own official recorded 100 MPH top speed! I've certainly also apparently due kindly especially wanted to mention that I personally also apparently decided to construct a brand-newly improvemently awesome 2nd tender for the very famous locomotive designed by Sir Herbert Nigel Gresley known as the Flying Scotsman for extra water as the Other Railway over in Great Britain certainly does hardly have any fuel for steam-driven railway locomotives such as the Flying Scotsman, but that certainly WON'T even be a problem here in the USA SINCE there's plenty of fuel for steam-driven railway locomotives!
the flying scotsman is truly a remarkable engine. imagine being there in person when he first reached 100 mph. what a spectacle to behold
That would be amazing. I would have loved to be alive during the late 1920s-1940s because of the railroads in the UK.
but nobody cares anymore

The flying Scotsman is one of my favorites trains from the LNER.
Isaiah and trains.
The music from how to train your dragon makes it so dramatic which makes me feel happy flying scotsman in preservation.
Now we just need Gordon.

That was amazing! I saw Flying Scotsman in 1993 when I was just 6 years old. I love it! What a great video. Thanks for sharing!
Lucky you
Lucky, You saw her in lner livery
First time I saw flying Scotsman was about 6 years ago when it visited the seven valley railway during the autumn season
And more importantly This engine has been drawing in the crowds where ever she goes ever since
Mayoorhan, explain this. when Scotsman was leaving the railway museum to go to the station, it used Stephen's whistle, however when Scotsman left York, it used the RSC whistle and then out on the mainline, it used Stephen's whistle. what is going on?
No only is Scotsman in debt to Alan Pegler but so are we, the railway enthusiast's.
Long Live the Flying Scotsman!!!!!
the TRS illustration, if no-one noticed, is Flying Scotsman next to its only remaining brother (in the TAF franchise anyway), NWR N 4, Gordon.
Yes
FLYING SCOTSMAN is a class A3
While Gordon is A0 they are closely related, although Gordon is a Prototype
Gordon’s an original A1
Gordon started out as a prototype called an A0 then he was classified as an A1 and like his brother he was later fitted with a Gresley designed A3 boiler.

Alan Pegler would of loved this video!
THE SCOTMAN FLYS AGAIN!!
Flying Scotsman! May he live on as the world's most famous engine in the world! Long Live Flying Scotsman!
Five years old and still one of my top five favorite videos to watch on RUclips
There’s a big birthday celebration for the flying Scotsman next year and it’s 100 years since the flying Scotsman was built
A big thank you to all of the owners who kept Flying Scotsman still in steam!
I've especially wanted to mention that I personally love how Alan Pegler mentioned preservation when he came across the famous L N E R class A3 Pacific type of steam-driven railway tender locomotive known as the Flying Scotsman to generously preserve him for a complete 2nd chance throughout at least another 5 entire decades!
I'm personally just suddenly quite surely certain that Alan Pegler as well as Sir William McAlpine as well as Sir Herbert Nigel Gresley certainly MUST be happily looking down from Heaven right now knowing that your future's in safe hands @ the National Railway Museum in York alongside fellow L N E R class A4 Pacific type of steam-driven railway tender locomotive built in Doncaster in the year of 1938 respectfully known as Mallard who actually still holds the famously well-known 126 MPH top speed record! Now that I personally just suddenly come to carefully think 'bout it further, the well-known newly custom-built in 2008 Peppercorn L N E R class A1 pacific type of steam-driven railway tender locomotive known as Tornado certainly would basically be very shockingly impressed to witness a specifically wonderfully great newly modified generation of the well-known L B S C Railway class E 2 tank engines in action himself!
I personally just suddenly came up with the officially well-knowingly clever idea of completely preserving the famously well-known Flying Scotsman for absolutely FREE from the famously well-known National Railway Museum in Great Britain for everyone to love for many years to come generation after generation after generation after generation after generation as I personally just suddenly feel quite sure that Alan Pegler as well as Sir William McAlpine as well as Sir Herbert Nigel Gresley as well as the official entire staff of the National Railway Museum in Great Britain certainly would basically be very shockingly surprisingly proud of me for taking the exact same course of action that Alan Pegler himself generously had done back in the officially well-known 1960s when B R announced their own official complete plan to send the famously well-known Flying Scotsman to the scrapyard to get cut up into pieces by the Scrapper's torch! Luckily, Alan Pegler himself generously prevented it from happening by purchasing the famously well-known L N E R class A3 Pacific type of steam-driven railway tender locomotive designed by Sir Herbert Nigel Gresley himself known as the Flying Scotsman for quite a specifically precise bargain price of precisely £3,000,000 as mentioned in this official video showing Alan Pegler himself generously saving the famously well-known L N E R class A3 Pacific type of steam-driven railway tender locomotive designed by Sir Herbert Nigel Gresley himself in Doncaster in the year of precisely 1923 on the date of February 24th respectfully! Plus, we get a specifically wonderfully great flashback of when Alan Pegler himself was a little boy reflecting back to when the famously well-known Flying Scotsman set his own official complete 100 MPH top speed run on a specifically precise non-stop trip between Edinburgh in Scotland to King's Cross in London in England as 1 of the famously well-known L N E R steam-driven railway tender locomotives!
This made me nearly cry. Thank you, I needed this lift from the railway world
Thanks, and I'm glad I helped. :)
The railway world has been a little shunned down recently. The return of the Flying Scotsman should bring back some confidence in steam restoration
The first ever engine to reach 100 mph!!! True king of steam!!! The Flying Scotsman!!!
Today, February 24th, marks the 100th anniversary of the Flying Scotsman, the first steam locomotive in the world to reach 100 miles per hour! 100 years for the first to go 100 mph! How incredible! Happy 100th Birthday Flying Scotsman!!!
Can I get this on DVD please?? This wants me to see the Flying Scotsman more than ever!!!
The flyingscotsman is returning to steam on March 6th 2016
115mph in an A3.....if only. although i think we all owe mr alan pegler for giving scotsman another chance.
I did not know it was play httyd theme song till it enter the station is fit so well with Scotsman hai to the king of steam
5 years on, and I still clearly remember my first time watching this. And the three ways it changed me. The first one is that this the video that made me decide to buy Train Simulator. The second is that this video got me interested in watching train sim videos. And the third and by far most important is that this amazing video saved my interest in trains as a whole. Because at the time when this was released, I was being bullied in school for liking trains. I told the school what was going on and it stopped for a few days, but started again. And then I saw this in my video feed. It had been online for two days then, and it reminded my of why I liked this hobby and that there are others out there who also like it. That, me attempting to deal with the main bully and a slightly different measure taken by the school, the bullying stopped and did not start again.
Welcome Back Scotty
I've especially wanted to mention that I personally love how Alan Pegler generously preserved the famous locomotive designed by Sir Herbert Nigel Gresley known as the Flying Scotsman for exactly 3,000,000 pounds to continuously service UNTIL the famous locomotive designed by Sir Herbert Nigel Gresley known as the Flying Scotsman has been withdrawn from service! In fact, it's completely obviously clear that I personally just heard the Flying Scotsman proudly say he certainly did owe him for another fair chance to run for @ least 50 years! Although, however, it's completely obviously clear that they certainly did manage to keep the famous locomotive from 1923 built proudly straight in Doncaster designed by Sir Herbert Nigel Gresley known as the Flying Scotsman safe from the horrifyingly horrible faith of getting cut up into pieces by the Scrapper's torch right along with every single other type of machinery that's basically been scrapped!
I've especially wanted to mention that I personally think that Alan Pegler generously WOULD definitely be looking down from heaven knowing that the famous locomotive designed by the famous Sir Herbert Nigel Gresley known as the Flying Scotsman that he'd preserved is making him proud along with Sir Herbert Nigel Gresley!
We all owe sir Nigel greasly for bringing this legend engine to life and we thank pegler giving scotsman a second chance in life. And we thank sir William mcailpine for saving scotsman
Indeed. And now let's hope he has the heritage protection he is entitled to! He's not an age old historical building that can stand unscathed for countless years. He's a locomotive. Parts break down, parts need replacing, this is unavoidable but heritage protection means that he must be maintained. Any reconstruction required must follow the guidelines of his historical appearance. He should always look like himself. (those smoke deflectors are a matter of debate!)

@@Bahamas-rd8le Flying ScotsMAN
Yeah, but locomotives are described as beautiful. And women are beautiful. Plus, Flying Scotsman is not the name of the loco. It is the name of the train that goes from London to Edinburgh
@@Bahamas-rd8le Then whats the name of the loco?
Flying Scotsman. BUT originally it is the name of the train. But still it is a “she”
Just seeing flying Scotsman once is a sighting of a lifetime
I saw him in Melbourne on his Australian visit in the late 80s. It wasn't as significant to me at the time as it is now as I wasn't fully aware of his history even though I had known of him since my childhood. Now I know just how special he is.
I'm in Melbourne Australia. I saw Scott when he visited here in 1988. Now it's April 23 2023 two months after his 100th birthday. He looks somewhat different on both these occasions but he's still the same engine at heart.
Very Emotional! Loved it!
Thank you!
I can only really echo what everyone else has said - brilliant stuff. You've got a real knack for those epic running sequences. :)

Flying Scotsman return to steam at Bury January 2016 :)
the video is fantastic, the flying scotsman is my favorite steam engine of all, the train simulator is the 2016 or 2017
I think it's the first time flying scotsman got to 115mph.
I've recently seen a simulation of Gordon looking a lot like Scott does here but in blue. It'd be great to see a series of the two of them working together on the main land travelling to all the places Scott has visited since his 2016 return to service. Not essentially a Thomas series, they'd both be faceless and they wouldn't talk. It's just a suggestion for something s little different to all the animations they've been in together through the years.
**sniffs** That was beautiful 🥹
