Harry I got to tell you man these guys are the real deal. I'm a 71-year-old my son introduced me to these guys a couple years ago. They have three albums out there's a bad song on any of them. I was lucky to go see them in concert in September one of the best shows I've ever seen.
72 here and these 3 brothers and best friend are the best thing thats happened to rock music in decades! Terrific musicianship and songwriting abilities galore. “The Battle At Garden’s Gate” is a rock and cinematic masterpiece.
They have several great songs to react too. Black Smoke Rising, Broken Bells, Meeting the Master are just a few. I feel connected to this band as they grew up in a small town near me. I'm so proud of their success, they are so talented.
I am an old school rocker andI LOVE GRETA My teenage daughter turned me on to Greta about a year ago. We got to see them live in Sept 2022. Oh my they are truly the real deal!! They are a mix of Queen, Zeppelin and Rush but still have their own sound!! And they are just as good live if not better live!! They truly are an experience for all age groups!! Love your reaction!! So good
GRETA VAN FLEET has received a blessing from rock's mountain top, winning the endorsement of Led Zep singer Robert Plant. In an interview this week with Australia's Network Ten, the iconic front man promptly cited Greta Van Fleet when asked about up-and-coming bands he appreciates. "They are Led Zeppelin I," Plant said. Describing 21-year-old Josh Kiszka as "a beautiful little singer," the 69-year-old Plant playfully added: "I hate him." Interviewer Ryan Fitzgerald went on to note Kiszka's "huge voice." "Yeah, and he borrowed it from somebody I know very well!" Plant responded. "But what are you going to do? That's OK."
Good first song choice. A lot of people seem to listen to their earlier stuff first and form an impression, but they are a young band and their sound is evolving fairly quickly.
I wish I could go back and hear them for the first time all over again. This music is levels and levels and levels above anything else in the industry currently
These guys grew up in the bean farming area of Michigan's "thumb". Not much to do there but listen to the parent's extensive record collection and practice in the garage. It has paid off!
When my mom moved to Frankenmuth she lived a few roads over from these guys. Apparently they were quite loud when they practiced. This was several years ago obviously.
I've seen them 2 time live this past 10 months. They are amazing live. I'm a classic rock, metal, everything fan... I'm 30 and love them. I make a request next month!
I got a chance to see these guys in a little bar back a few years ago. It was just when they were starting to take off. They have come a long way in the few years since then.
The three brothers' fathar plays harmonica in a Blues band. He has performed some Blues songs with them at concerts in the past. So growing up they were constantly exposed to The Blues. As their friend, the drummer was similarly influenced. He also plays guitar, by the way. The lead singer and lead guitarist are twins. The bassist/keyboardist is the third brother and the youngest of the group. Their early stuff sounded a lot like Led Zep which caused them to receive a lost of undeserved negative backlash. Of course they would have a similar sound because of their foundation in the Blues roots of Rock music. By now they have arrived at their own sound and style.
These young people are talented and their albums and concerts are incredible. Rock is not dead.🤘 I saw them twice in concert in France. It was superb !
Thanks for requesting this Alison. I've been wanting to hear more reactions to this from the young people who usually react to the old music. Seen old folks reacting to it. This is by far my favorite song of the last year and a half, it was released in February 2021.
I absolutely love the lyrics: “We do not fight for war, but the lives of those who do so”. Really hits home emotionally what the band and The Peaceful Army represent. What I love most about The Battle at Garden’s Gate, is the storytelling in the poetic lyrics; the ethereal, spiritual, and emotional music, and the message of love, peace and unity. The music video for Heat Above really does look like it was filmed in the 70s. From the set design, the emphasized color scheme of white and gold to represent purity, and the cinematography that conveys a spiritual theme of choosing peace and love over violence and war where possible.
Hey I think boy is finally finding his own voice here - I hear more hints of Geddy on this one than of Plant or Tyler. But more, he's letting himself sound like himself. Good on him. I've been waiting for these guys to break into new territory of their own, and I think they're doing it here.
Their early sound was definitely Zeppelin!! 3 brothers...singer and guitarist are twins and the bassist/keyboardist is their younger brother. The drummer is a friend. What a talented family from Frankenmuth Michigan!
This is fairly new group for me. They are made up of 3 brothers & a close friend. I love the instruments they use especially the violin. They have a very interesting sound. It reminds me of some of the elements of the early classic rock I grew up on. I like their song "Broken Bells".
THANK YOU! I’ve always thought RUSH not LD like most people say. I see them in March for the second time. I’m 53 and I guarantee I won’t be the oldest fan there. 😊
I love your reactions! so glad you made it to Greta.. they are AMAZING. "Broken Bells - candlelight sessions" it's amazing. Some older songs/music videos to check: "when the curtain falls" "black smoke rising" "lover leaver taker believer"
Named after a lady they knew in Frankenmuth MI. Glad you liked them. Been awhile since I listened to them. Must check to see if they have any new music out.
My daughter wanted to introduce me to Greta during lockdown. I wasn't initially interested but I am happy she wouldn't back down. She started with Highway Tune and I have been a fan ever since. We saw them open up for Metallica in Buffalo this summer. They were great but Metallica literally shook Bills Stadium.
Listening to some great Rock of the mid 70's....Rush's Getty Lee, Yes w/Jon Anderson, Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant....and I can hear this Lead singer apply them all. Nearly one at a time. It's amazing.
They are VERY MUCH a modern band . Indeed these guys are EXACTLY what POP-ROCK needs right now. Bring the the old school , charismatic and raw talent back to finally stimulate a new generation of dead musical ears that have been too long stupefied by over processed , over quantize'd, and over auto tuned ,overnight wonders. You better listen you young musicians. While social media is full of one night stands seeking to be the next flash in the pot. These guys are giving you free lessons in how to become the next legend!! I think your analysis was dead on. I have always felt Freddie mercury vibes from this guy. But if you are going to emulate anyone ..can you think of anyone better to strive for? !
If you like their style and general music, then you really to start checking out the Detroit sound. Nashville is the center for popularity in music. New York is the center for popularity in art. Detroit is the world center for creativity in both. If you don't make it here, you don't deserve to make it anywhere.
As a 56 year old these guys restored hope for me…. Great rock is timeless
54, and I couldn’t agree more.

Didn't you mean that there's NOT a bad song on any of the albums. 😂

I’m 71 also! I was supposed to see them in November. I can’t wait until end of March for Sacramento!
72 here and these 3 brothers and best friend are the best thing thats happened to rock music in decades! Terrific musicianship and songwriting abilities galore. “The Battle At Garden’s Gate” is a rock and cinematic masterpiece.
@@davidgena2667 Are you going to be able to see Greta this year?
He sings like an angel . They play like gods
58 years old and I have hope rock music will continue before i'm gone
They have several great songs to react too. Black Smoke Rising, Broken Bells, Meeting the Master are just a few. I feel connected to this band as they grew up in a small town near me. I'm so proud of their success, they are so talented.

I never thought I would here rock and roll like this again. Amazing band
That is the kind of music you clap before listen to, even alone at home. It is simply a MASTERPIECE
Dive in! Their catalog is phenomenal!

Frankenmuth is not in Michigan's thumb. It is located between Saginaw and Flint.
@@Lionize728 Very loud!!! probably 🙂
Its thumb area come on...@olivegreenpants7153
Just discovered these guys a day ago been listening to them non stop. This song is beautiful.
I just discovered them a couple of weeks ago. I'm hooked!!
I'm really enjoying this! Once again I'm hearing a band I wasn't aware of and so happy. 68 yr old new fan.😊

Yeah, their Dad's group is called "Whisky Biscuit" 😊
They are a new band with a retro sound and style.

you absolutely NEED to react to more of their music. it’s absolutely breathtaking

Agree. He’s finding his own style and he’s amazing. They all are. Music is like a religious experience for them - as it should be. 😊
that being said even Robert Plant likes them and it brings a lot of older generations to new music which is amazing in its own right
“Can’t you feel my love?” 💕💕💕💕💕💕
I’ve been listening to them for 5 years. I love them.
my favorite band and my favorite concert i ever been to!
Yes, yes, yes!!! They are fantastic!!
Seen them 3 times so far … Fantastic show
Beautiful brother with a great take on this band. ❤
Best band on the planet, amazing.
I can hear elements of Yes, Rush and even Bob Dylan.
Great sounds.
Black smoke rising is another good one of theirs
Josh Kiszka sounds like a cross between Robert Plant and Geddy Lee. :)
They are so wonderful in person!
I love Greta!!! You HAVE to do a reaction to their song Broken Bells. Watch their candle light session of that song - it’s live
I agree 💯
One of the best live bands you will ever see!! I saw twice over the last year they are a must see concert. You have a new subscriber
Their early sound was definitely Zeppelin!! 3 brothers...singer and guitarist are twins and the bassist/keyboardist is their younger brother. The drummer is a friend. What a talented family from Frankenmuth Michigan!
FINALLY, SOME REAL TALENT!!!
These guys are gonna go down in history as one of the greats, and they're so young. I love em'!!!
Dive in to their live performance even better than studio
Harri, that was beautiful, thank you.
They are as good as you think live , looking forward to seeing them in Glasgow 2023 with my son !
Part of what I like is their use of an organ to make a lot of their background sounds and give it an almost southern church rock vibe
This song feels early Rush. He is channeling Geddy Lee. Love this!
I really like these guys.
Love this group
You’re the only reaction video saying exactly what I thought, he sounds like the lead singer of Rush
So beatiful
These guys are top tier 👌 check out Black smoke rises and light your love
I hope you did get to see them live… or get to soon while they are over there.
