    That was so epic. Thanks! I'm going to cover this soon. Keep coming back to Gilmour for favorite music to play. On top of nailing the tone you had a really cool rythmic crystal style effect on the high end that really added a cool vibe. What was that? Loved it. Well done.

      Darryld1 Well... I've never been able to reproduice note to note a DG guitar solo with the same emotion, so I've jammed with his/PF records during all those years playing my own stuff and sometime discovering how to play one or two of his own licks. This is the way I've always done it. I've never practiced the guitar with tabs, I've always jammed with records.

    • @LysanderLH
      @LysanderLH 9 лет назад

      See that's what I do too but I think I get too hooked into playing note for note sometimes. Perhaps you've given me the drive I need to try a bit harder at playing it in my own way. I've pretty much nailed Shine on from WYWH and i've been looking for something new to focus on. Sorrow eluded me for a long time but I really liked the way you played it. It's refreshing to hear a well done new version of it.

    Well, it all depends of your level of motivation. If you're motivated enough, you can learn playing the guitar in 1 year, maybe two. I mean, get used to hurt your fingers with those heavy strings, learn the chords, learn how to go from one to another, learn how to make them ring. IIRC, it took me two years to learn the basic stuff, and it takes me the rest of my life to improve my playing ;)

    Effects pedals + volume. David Gilmour seems to play really loud with his Hiwatt amps. To achieve the amount of feedback needed, you have to crank your amp. So it's harder to do when you leave in an appartment. ;)

    Concerning Marooned, I'd need a pedal effect called the Whammy, which allows impressive notes bends. But since I don't have that one, I can't really play this track or the really high pitched notes would be missing.

    I have the EMG DG-20 pickups installed on my strat but it has some hissing sound, it's louder especially when I turn on the Iron Bell and Dyna Comp. Do you have any idea what's the problem?

    • @fpeynet
      @fpeynet  8 лет назад

      Does it still hiss when you turn the guitar volume to zero? In that case, it's not a pickup problem.
      Does it still hiss when you put your hands on the strings?
      The EMG are not dead silent. They are more silent than the usual passive pickups, but there still remain a bit of hiss when the drive pedals and the compressors are engaged.
      The only matter is: if you were playing in a band or with a musical background, would this hiss be noticeable?
      Most of the time, no.
