Next scrapyard wars should just be "can you get a system from GEEP directly?"
That guy from GEEP sounded like he had been smoking since before he was born
sgsupreme2127 I love this idea 😂😂
OffOnOne I think LTT editors distorted his voice for privacy.
It's just not what we do
recycle bins only
this finale was structured really well. first the side-by-side benchmarks, then the rig reveal, then the price reveal. it kept the suspense hi. very enjoyable.
1.5k likes and no comments wow
Cool seeing you around here!
Luke really knew how they should structure it
Yes, this is one of my fave scrapyard wars. The next season was cool, but the reveal didn't show us vieweers much of the actual builds in the end :(
Hi
The ending was much better for this one than the last few. They actually got to look at each others rigs and react, plus we got to see the benchmarks run side-by-side. Glad LTT took the feedback on previous SW to heart!
exactly
This almost makes up for the DBRAND girl. The ending was good, the best part of Scrapyard Wars is the closure you get from the ending discussion.
Especially when like Linus Is about to cry, and like Luke is like, offering money to make him feel better, but it's just rubbing it in his face.
You should do a scrapyard where each person starts with the same/similar pc's. They have to sell all the parts and use that money to buy parts for a new pc.
this might bw thw last one
Chris Lauber that would be awesome
@@crymatic8968 why would this be the last one
@@austinhurst467 That's what they've said in the past, been adressed in the WAN show I believe. Sad times.
@@cappew22 which one? I've been gone for a ehile
Let's be honest, the real winner here is the guy that bought Luke's throwaways for $35.
Nah. He got a deal on the HDD, but he got screwed on everything else.
It's Canadian currency. 50% off store price is a pretty banging deal.
for $35 canadian I would get 2tb HDD in a heartbeat.
Idk a 40 bucks 2TB hard drive is not that rare on kijiji.
2tb of bunnies doing binkies.
Coming back 4 years later. This is the best show on RUclips.
literally just watching now ahha
They say they won't do any more, but I'd love to see it come back. Even if they built systems with 2015 era parts, and ran 2015 era games and benchmarks. It's still fun watching them panic and run around town.
To be honest, that was one of the best Scrapyard Wars seasons ever. So much variation, so tense at the end.
So true
Yeah, I loved that Nintendo switch add the whole time through it XDXD
Absolutely loved every second of it!
The next one needs to be "No Internet" as well :)
RedTipAlpha I agree! Such a good way of marketing. And Morpheas, I agree with you too!
That was my sarcasm if you didn't pick it up (It was a blatantly obvious marketing thing)
Let’s be honest, Linus finding the phone book was a long shot story.
Maybe it was scripted and faked?
I don't want to think that. I love these shows. But it is reality TV basically....
They're not that uncommon? Most of the time they get tossed to the side and forgot about, I've been in plenty of buildings that have them inside
@@Microtonal_Cats What? Why would it be scripted? Nothing indicated that it was, and all Linus' interactions were genuine.
Michael Dean what? This ain’t mtv
@@Hallowed_Ground I agree that it wasn't scripted but there was definitely a moment in SW4 where the video card guy texted them and they probably didn't catch it on camera, so they re-created the scene.
THANK YOU for including them talking about their systems and struggles. It makes it so much better.
Totally agree! Always the best part.
this is without a doubt my favorite youtube kind of vid to watch!!!
You know, sometimes after a lot of reality shows on television there is an extra episode where the cast, producers and other involved individuals have a more formal sit down on sofas and discuss the season? I think that would be great for Scrapyard Wars. It would give everyone involved a chance to look back and discuss their challenges, anecdotes, disasters and fixes...maybe even provide a opportunity to discuss a certain purchase or sale with the the buyer/seller. Personally, I always enjoy seeing you guys casually interact. Just a thought. Loved the season. Congratulations LMG!
Yeah, I always get the feeling that there is something missing at the end
I think thats what they try to do with the sit down interviews that they cut to as the episodes go on. Then they tend to talk about the other persons adventures on WAN once they have both had a chance to watch.
I'd be down with that. Release it a week after the final episode, maybe? Or release it unlisted with the direct link listed in the final episode plus on the forums/FB/Twitter, etc.
This would be so cool to see the perspective and thoughts of the camera dewds filming it as well, PLEASE ADD THISS.
Sometimes they do that in the Wan show after all the episodes are released.
Broo linus’s gpu was more than lukes whole computer
Linus's ssd was more than my current laptop, not joking

HimKioo I guess you can call it generic ? I don’t comment often on LTT’s videos, and I really enjoyed this season of scrapyard wars. More than most of the others. So I wanted to express my enjoyment in a simple and concise way.
just guys being dudes
That 6 dollars for the map isn't really looking like a good investment now is it Linus :)
That wasn't actually included in the price calculation of the system. 10 bucks for the SSD, 400 for the 1070 and 360 for the case + mobo + ram + power supply.
If he had sold this RAM and that other GPU for a few bucks like 50 Bucks... BUT he has not! xD

SCRAPYARD WARDS!!!
36:53
But in reality no one wants to use Luke's computer!!! SMH. This show is so dumb. All this for an A10 to win? Yikes.
Jake Alex It could be for a kid. That's a great deal for someone who is only going to play Fortnite and browse the internet.
Luke's score per price was 0.26% higher. It's within margin of error, and doesn't show any real difference in score per price. Linus had the better system overall anyways.
Also, if Linus could have sold that ram to someone, there's no doubt he would've won. Ram isn't cheap, DDR3 is currently ~$4.50/GB at the cheapest, and goes into the $20+ range; at the lowest end with the ram sold, Linus would've had a 40.8, which means his score per price would've been 4.35% higher than Luke's, which is outside margin of error.
And if Luke hadn't sold the other components, he would've been at 35.4, which put's Linus' score per price at 10.17% higher than Luke's. This is only counting the $35 worth of stuff sold to that guy, not the returned cooler. I also wonder if that guy knew of Luke and accepted a lower price, we didn't get to see the usual, "Would you buy/sell at this price if I was anyone other than Linus/Luke/anyone at LMG?" part.
And assuming Linus didn't have mixed ram, his score probably would've been higher anyways.
Linus was put at a disadvantage by not selling leftover components/Luke selling his leftover components. Although not against the rules, it doesn't make for a fair comparison.
Xander Zoolander Linus spent his extra time testing ram configurations while Luke used his extra time to sell the parts. Both could have done the other but didn't so it's pretty fair.
Loved this one. Hype ending. My comment might get lost in the thousands of others but an Ebay only stipulation would be cool to see. Not allowed to leave the house and do any face to face deals.
Kur Kit do your parents know you are a disgusting weeaboo
Do your parents know KUNG POW PENIS
Rude, why are you insulting him for nothing, so what if he likes anime many do you don't have the right to decide for him.
eBay only wouldn't really work out in Canadia because eBay is almost entirely unused.
if you make that more flexible to internet user listings only? then that would work.
however, in every past season Kijiji is already the most used source for finding parts anyways, so idk if that's really very different.
That's not true at all, I'm Canadian and I use ebay fairly often and just about everyone I know, including some older none tech savvy relatives, have all bought at least one thing off of ebay. My dad even buys vehicle parts off of it like every couple months.
Awesome season. I loved how they handled the reveal.
I think it is great that the got practically the same price per performance, it shows that you can get better performance at a similar ppp if you shop around and find good deals.
"lets look at grass"
- Linus Sebastian, 10:12
That guy that Luke sold the 2 TB HDD to got a steal of a deal. I wish I had someone offering me a 2 TB hard drive for $25. I would take it in a heart beat.
That $10 SDD was also pretty nuts. I'd expect the guy knew Linus.
I bought four 2 TB hard drives for $20 each earlier this year. Sure they're used, but they have plenty of life left.
joe nodden in the very near future , there will be a metric poop ton of those being given away .
@Tom I can get a 128 gb ssd from micro center for like, 30-40 bucks, a used 60gb ssd of midrange quality for 10 bucks is pretty reasonable.
I would use a Seagate if someone paid me.
For no internet? I'm very impressed with both of you!
True that!
What's fucking hilarious is that they were bitching and moaning that they weren't going to get anything done in the first 2 episodes, and by the end they managed to get killer systems for the price-per performance without the internet. Dbrand girl aside, this was a very good season.
Not sure if they'll see this lol, but this finale wasn't included in the channel's playlist for Scrapyard Wars.
Ikr!
yeah i had to manually search it. also in the playlist its 7-2 7-3 then 7-1
And it still is not XD
Also order is incorrect
Scrapyard Wars 8 Idea (assuming it hasn't been done)
"Generals"
Linus and Luke act as commanders. They spend the entire time in a central location (the office, or something), and direct the actions of a team of 1-3 people. Team commanders can only contact their subordinates by text or phone call, and must rely on their team to do all the research, footwork, sales interactions, information gathering, and negotiating. (Commanders can direct negotiations, for instance, by proxy, but cannot contact anyone but the team directly.) It is the role of the commanders to direct their team toward what kind of parts for which to look, to vet potential deals, and instruct on the construction and testing of the assembled parts.
Subordinates can use internet; I leave it to you to decide whether to allow commanders the same.
Now that's an interesting idea! I like the idea of separating the "generals" from the action even more than just cutting their internet, rely solely on the knowledge you already have to not only figure it out, but now direct subordinates to do your bidding, the potential for miscommunication is incredibly high, and that makes for great television.
But in my version, footsoldiers wouldn't be able to access the internet, just like a soldier would have limited access to information and even base contact in a real battle. The generals, even IRL during wars, don't generally have very much information and when they do, they're time limited as actions need to be taken urgently, so I'd allow the generals internet use, but it's time limited. So they'd be allowed maybe an hour in the morning , that way they'd still have to make purchase decisions without directly consulting Amazon to ensure they're getting the best possible deal, but they would still be able to find out about specific products they're interested in, and unlike previous scrapyard wars where time penalties were just extra time for the other team, penalties could even mean less internet time.
Damn that's would be a lot of stress, lol good idea btw
THIS IS GREAT
Everyone please like so that they see this lmaoo
This is such a great idea considering how pushy and active Linus is! It would be great to see Linus freaking out and going mad all around!
*How do I get the job as the chick hanging out playing switch the whole time as the continual dbrand placement?* haha
When does the girl come out?
first two episodes. whenever they are out shopping
Is the switch girl Linus's wife?
pretty sure that was Linus's wife.
Not at all, i think shes ed's younger sister. They look some what similar.
2TB HDD for 20$, I wish I was in Canada at the moment :D
Ahsan Ahmedzai wtf I got 1 tb for 65$ around a month ago
Whats worse is that's in Canadian rupies, so it's really $15.20 in USD.
The right man in the wrong place can make all diferrence in the world
rupies wtf its canadian dollars

I'm glad more time was devoted to testing and showing each other the final systems
Scrapyard Wars 8, build the best computer with parts older than 2005
2010 would be a better choice. Finding parts 2005 and older is near impossible if you're not using ebay
A passive cooling challenge would also be dope
That’s a really good idea tbh.
Omg very good idea xD
Samuel King nah, older then 2010 because Dx11 for newer games
The 4 minutes of Luke going through receipts could have been done in seconds if he used fresh books
Jonathan Farrow Lmao
Except Freshbooks uses internet soo....
Well, then. Fresh Books should sponsor Scrapyard Wars shouldn't they? ;)
krimhorn it would have made a lot more sense this season. The usual "our D brand skins protect our phones and laptops when we're out and about" thing didn't really carry over this season. And the Phantom Nintendo switch chick in the background felt more like the first act of a horror movie than product placement.
Oh wow it’s a delayed advertisement from season 5 of Scrapyard Wars
I think this is my favorite season yet, Actual struggles!
shittiest season yet
sawal kalra agreed
Yeah loved this one.
only so short
and Linus you forgot to include the 6 or 7 canadian you spent on the map.
Why it wasn't like the last one where they had to pay for food and transport. So he bought a map for himself and used it, it wasn't a part of his bought parts for the PC so it doesn't count.
@@ibonitog No it definitely counted. They both should have counted everything they spent.
@@Hallowed_Ground that was a separate season. There was a season where every expense was included. Not this one though
@@Hallowed_Ground That makes no sense. By that metric if theyspend money on food, gas, etc that needs to all be accounted for as well. It is definitely a gray area and if they count it or not is kinda up to them.
Kevin Morris nigga stop trying to sound smart, nobody cares what you fuckin call it lmao
wow, loved this season. it's so far ahead from the other ones.
Tbh, I'd called this a tie.
Looking at the numbers and formula used, Luke won by literally $1.38. Alternatively, Linus would've needed less than 2 FPS more in Fortnite (or Luke could've gotten less than 1 FPS lower).
This is well within the fairly unavoidable variation in between individual runs, especially for a game that can get a bunch of variance between individual runs.
Timmy Fox Plus when Linus was gliding he 360ed all over the place
It's for fun. It doesn't really matter that much. If you want to make it more fair that would be a lot more work. And it would have been for too little gain IMO
And the Cinebench scores change.
Timmy Fox Considering Linus spent hours tweaking his benchmarks and Luke was only installing it then is pretty impressive.
Doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile, winning's winning!
I want a 2tb barracuda for 25 bucks.. :(
Apathy same :
It's Seagate, not even worth getting it for free.
Seagate got a lot better in recent years (I still got two WD HDDs though lmao)
There's no difference between WD and Seagate
WD is a scam there 2tb hard drives are only 1.87 tb
“Does Epic Games’ launcher really use that much??”
Yes, yes it does.
Still relevant
Still relevant. But updates are pretty quick, can't complain
@@tamasmasable Yeah the usage actually takes you somewhere
It would have been funny if that guy dropped the 2tb harddrive while shaking lukes hand.
lol
the guy was an employee xD he just wanted them personally
It would be great for" crub your enthusiasm" episode
No backsies
Omg that's what I was thinking
To be fair, I think everyone would rather buy Linus' build.
Yeah his build is more upgradable and better overall.
For that price? Definitely not.
well yeah ofc but the challenge was best bang for buck not best overall pc
remember it's canackistan pesos...
it's a really good price
Scrapyard wars 8: Stuff you find at the Scrapyard ... or for free or whatever
NistingurA pentium 2 masterrace
the price per performance would be 0 with no clear winner :D
A debrief esque video after having Linus and Luke review footage and laugh/talk about each others strategies and what they did would be phenomenal. Not just for this scrapyard wars, all of them. I think it would be worth the effort, LTT if you're listening make it happen!
Should do a performance for size challenge.
Basically try to build the best performing computer (in certain price limit) in the smallest case you can find.
Or like both get the exactly same case and they have to get the best performing system
@@hingewichsterfick Part of the challenge is hunting for used small form factor cases
that actually sounds really interesting

Loved it. The idea of no internet was great. Really gripping episode. Linus bought an overkill CPU.
Not really, most of the time in fornite at least he was cpu limited. Maybe a good deal on a 1060 or something could have helped in the final score.
Ran Ng agreed. It costed him a total of 300$. And the fact that he got a high score in 3Dmark is so good.
This was a great season, one of the best for me. I love how Luke tries to make Linus feel better at the end.
If Linus had been able to sell one RAM stick for 5 bucks, which would obviously be a very easy sell if he could've found someone, he would've won right then and there... INSANE.
He could’ve made it an easier win by selling all the excess RAM sticks for just $5. But, he didn’t know how close it would be nor did he have the time to sell anything.
no . linus bought the map. and they did,nt consider that price.
Who else thinks Linus's PC is more worth it at that price tho
BarDoCk it was not counted. Thats like counting the gas
+1
Next Scrapyard Wars: Start with the same jank base system (mid-hardware two years-ish ago, fully over-clockable) and try to upgrade it as much as possible with limited cash. Interesting trade off between new parts and overclocking.
I actually like that idea. I just wish they wouldn't weight pure cheapness so high in the final score. Sure Luke's POS was only $330, but it would not be nearly adequate to use as a daily driver. Linus' system is actually a decently high end gaming PC.
Exactly, I think people want something more relatable. I imagine a lot of people rocking two year old (ish) hardware thinking "how can I get the most bang for my buck". Is it worth upgrading the work horse or am I better off getting some new parts?
When you're buying parts, and start to get to the higher end stuff, you're starting to pay a lot more for each extra bit of performance. I think Linus did really good still, because he still managed to get some good price to performance with those high end parts.
joe nodden that was my thoughts exactly, it's much harder to get price to performance at the higher end so he did really well tbh.
Did anyone else notice the guy who bought lukes stuff at 4:40 was wearing a button up shirt buttoned all the way up to cover his blue employee shirt?
totes, but some thoughts on that
1) I wear color shirts under my button up shirts all the time so not sure that's 100 percent definitive? but also blue with red makes me suspicious for sure
2) also pretty sure Canada Computers DO wear blue shirts so that does improve the chances he was either the dude at the counter or someone else working in the store
3) If I was working and a guy came in trying to sell that bag with a 2TB HD for that price, id probably agree to buying it as a regular person NOT associated with the business I work at. If he wore his shirt and bought it during work hours he coulda been fired I'm sure.
4) I know im looking way into this non-important detail but I'm really bored and its really late, so what are you going to do? Brains are weird.
Probably was, seeing as the shot before was Luke selling it inside the store. The store probably has a policy that doesn't allow it's employees to make transactions as the business(wearing the uniform), so he borrowed a shirt and buttoned it all they way up to avoid that.
It was a 100% the same guy lol, they joked about it later on. Probably store policy to not sell yo employees during work hours
wow .1 difference but I'd pick Linus's system over Luke's in the end though...awesome video...

Good idea. It could be sponsored by ifixit.
most of them probably dont have the hardware fixing skills to do that, but that's just my glimpse
yall used the internet to update drivers... disqualified!
And to download fortnite
And the OS! It would be interesting if they also would need to find a installation CD or something haha
@@tinkot then they would literally need to find a CD with Windows 7 somewhere in scrapyard 😀
I was thinking that too. Downloaded Cinebench, Fortnite, made some bootleg Windows install no doubt already inside the office, AND all the drivers. Needed retail copies of windows and all the software with the original outdated driver install CDs. If the competition was legit his DVD drive would have been a goldmine cause its the only way to get it done.....
INTERNET FAIL!
They weren’t allowed to use the internet to get the parts
Linus had to double check his formula. Haha. I did all the math in a google doc myself, and the scores I got came to 38.96103896 for Linus and 39.12172387 for Luke. The actual difference was 0.16 points, not 0.1 points. Luke brought it in clutch this season. Closest scrapyard wars so far. This was so fun. I wonder what the next one will be.
*I think the next one should be Linus and Luke VS a 10-person army of people who aren’t quite as tech savvy.*
what, how would that be expensive. it's still two teams.
Well, it will cost extra editing time, but bring the right collaborators, and they'll volunteer, and Linus will get a nice bump in viewership.
The fuck are you on about? I can't make out where your cost calculations and the rest of the gibberish is coming from. And no, the idea is certainly not to pack 10 people into a car to go buy an SSD, the idea is to have not very tech-savvy people figure out the job by splitting tasks and working in groups of 2 or 3, maybe 4. Teamwork isn't just coop missions in games, you know, it also means people doing different things IRL and being able to rely on each other in some way without supervision and non-stop communication.
Reiden Lightman you must be fun at the parties
So there's this thing, it's called rounding. Not sure if you've heard of it

Someone tell switch girl she stole my heart
She doesn't care though...
Just keeps playing that switch.
Seraephus isn't that linus's daughter?
Anchor Bait. Yeah, he had her at 10...
Alberto Hetcher 7 actually
@Anchor Bait
how old do you think linus is? that girl looks like she's in her mid to late 20s.
Larry Oh, my bad.
Next season should be only from home so u cant meet people and u can only talk online and everything has to get shipped.
Oooo i like that
Yo this is good
I like that
No
Menno Rodenburg jk
I have binge watched all of the scrap yard wars. Toatally loved them. Can't wait for the next season. I am going to be building my own budget rig so I'll be trying to take as much advice as I can from the 300 build. Thanks
What an ending!
I'll also miss mystery Switch girl too...
They probably exorcised that ghost.
the twist ending 10/10
Jack Kaminsky nice pfp
poor luke he seems so uncomfortable haggling and bugging people. linus is just savage
If he was truly savage, he would have won. LOL :)
SeanFromPVD If he had sold his RAM for anything he would’ve won.
It would have been funny if he sold the RAM, but then had to go to more digits and find that he lost by 0.00001 points or something. LOL :)
Luke: you didn't try to sell them?
Linus: OH... UHM...
19:51 Luke: _”I have _*_a lot_*_ of money!”_
and a lot of ass
I did the math, and it turns out, if Linus sold any item for just 5 dollars their scores would be equal.
So if Luke hadn't sold those items, he would've lost for sure.
qwertyuiop Or if Linus wouldn't have bought the $10 SSD
but IMO, it's the same even if you don't sell the items
what was the formula
The random dude was pretty lucky though. You got to be featured in LTT too.
Devin Solomon if he had a hdd and Luke had a sad he would've smoked him
Im glad Luke won, everyone saying linus' pc was better can do one. He literally does the same thing all the time, a 1070 with an i7. He optimised his too, Luke should've overclocked his setup as much as possible. The difference would be bigger.
Luke spend time selling stuff, returning the cooler etc. Time Linus used to "optimise" his rig. Which actually didn't do much as it seems.
So Linus might actually been better off selling those ram sticks or something.
And so what if Linus does the same every time. It makes sense. It's not about being creative. And that being said, getting some fringe Xeon and fiddle with the ram setup to "emulate" an i7, is actually quite creative.
Both did a great job, it was close. No reason to slam one over the other.
Max Mustermann If luke overclocked his build, it wouldn't have been this close. An extra ~10-15% in performance would win easily. Even if he sold his sticks, for what? Like 10bucks? It was ECC memory Im quite sure.
+786arslan
You say "It was ECC memory" if it was a bad thing. You can sell a 4GB DDR3-1600 ECC stick for about 50€ on eBay Kleinanzeigen (basically german Craigslist). I know that for a fact because I have some on eBay currently. Which are currently at 35€ bidding each with one day to go.
DDR3 ECC isn't that useless for random people, seeing that quite a lot got systems like the Dell T20 (which was just dirt cheap at times, paid 240€ for mine. For what is basically a Core i5 system) or stuff like the HP MicroServer Gen7 or Gen8, both using/supporting ECC Memory.
Also you can just slam ECC memory into a not compatible system and run it with ecc disabled Without knowing what exactly he had and knowing current canadian prices, it's hard to say. But definitely more than 10 bucks for sure. Especially with the current DRAM shortage, which of course mostly affects new DDR4 ram, but also makes people more interested into hanging on to their older systems for a bit more and getting cheap used ram (in turn making it a bit less cheap)
Anyway, I got the impression that fiddling with Afterburner and that Intel Utility didn't do squat to the actual results, so yeah. Even for 10 bucks, using that time to sell the ram might been the smarter move.
But my main point was, that Luke might not have had the time to overclock AND return his cooler / sell his stuff. Then his total cost would have been at 400. He would have had to get pretty good overclocking results to even out the lost money, let alone improve his score.
Mind you, he didn't even had the time to install bloody cinebench.
Max Mustermann He did have time, he just didnt... He was testing fortnight. How long does it take?
Linus wouldn't have been able to sell that on the street for 50 mate.
786arslan
Are you ignoring the part of Luke not having the time to do both, selling/returning his crap AND overclocking on purpose?
Because that's the real kicker.
Like I said, even 10 bucks for all sticks together might actually been enough to turn the tide.
i have absolutely no idea when it comes to gaming pc's and pc's in general, but ive just spent the last 4 days watching your vids while at work (i work 12hr shifts) and enjoyed every hour of it :)
Season 8 should be Linus and Luke vs Strange Parts in Huaqiangbei
Daniel Sykes Vlogs Make iPhone X a Headphones Jack without Crack the glass
Holy shit yes, that would be amazing. Especially with how much Linus hated being there last time
Would that be fair considering Luke and Linus can't speak the local language? (correct me if im wrong, im just assuming they dont speak anything besides english and maybe a bit of french?)
The Manga is better
I like the light novel, it's pretty good
the doujinshis tho
True, but the OVA sucks
Lerbyn the smut is were the interactions really took off
I'd totally read a LTT-based Manga.
the last episode made this the best sw ever. for me Linus won... but numbers are numbers. 0.1 difference.....
i am sure if they rerun the benchmarks linus will win i think. still the suspense was great!
Johnnyxp64 thats not true, remember luke did not OC that A10, wouldve get like 30-40 more if it was overclocked.
Johnnyxp64 the variation could go either way.
They literally hit the same performance per dollar figures. Which is pretty incredible really
half the time luke was in front of linus during fortnite making the test unfair as he had no players on his screen. if linus was in front he could have won
just retards replaying, skip to the next comment.
Actually Linus won. When you compare relative benchmarks like this, in order to reduce the statistical bias, you calculate the result by using mean of ratios (MOR) and not ratio of means (ROM). With MOR Linus performance is 2.3344x better than Luke's but with ROM (which is what they used) Linus' performance is only 2.3202x better. So if they used the MOR method Linus' performance would be 2.3344x higher than Luke's and since Linus only paid 2.3333x more he wins.
Only took RUclips 2 days to recommend the final to me, but im glad it finally did. Hopefully whoever manages the videos on the channel sees this and can add it to the playlist for future watchers
-2tb hdd for $25?- cd rom, wifi card and 350w psu for $10? now that's a steal!
they want ssd
That was so close lol!
Didn't Linus actually spend more than 770? Cause he bought that map from the gas station too.
And during his sum up at 35:30 he didn't take that into account as well.
It's a bit of a contentious issue. I feel the map should count in the price tag, it was purchased specifically for the competition since Linus couldn't use GPS. The other parts, not so much. Gas is needed regardless of the competition, so is the phone. Neither was purchased for the competition alone.
Yeah makes sense to me Marc
Marc LeBlanc I would count gas if he was going somewhere super far to get a part.
Oh hi marc
yeah no, to be far they said at the start of season 7 they had 2k and only 2k to build the best p2p pc they could which would of included the map, but he got the phonebook for free. To be far though he had 8gb of ram which he could of got at least 60 cad for
22:00 when linus said "THAT IS WAT SHE SAID", I almost threw
the real winner is dbrand girl
0.1 ...
for me, linus won.
linus got careless when he gave away his graphics card for free from the express store, when the lady said "Can I keep the graphics card?" Linus said "Sure," Then she said "Sweet!"
Linus also got "free" ram
if he sold that gpu for even 10$ he would have won dang it son.
I LOVE scrapyard wars!!! Keep this series alive! and I hope to see LinusREKTips in fortnite! Good job gentleman, this was a blast to watch!

"Fortnite is for losers"
-Linus
put this in a museum
@Revolvin Goatt Isnt it obvious it is dead now?
@@GoogleUsedToLetThisNameBeLong i agree about fortnite but wtf why the hell are you saying this when you have never even played either
@@flolorm2349 Uhhh not sure how to answer your question any better. I said exactly why in the post above. It's because I saw footage of the game/people playing it when it came out, thought it was dumb and how it looked like World of Warcraft with squirt guns, noticed how ridiculously overrated it became in the gaming world, and was happy I didn't jump on the idiot bandwagon and start playing the game.
Not sure what else to say about it?
@@GoogleUsedToLetThisNameBeLong ok well the game has changed an insane amount and you should at least try it before you start saying all of these things. im not saying i like fortnite im just saying dont judge things before you even try them
@@flolorm2349 their fanbase is stupid, annoying, and consists of stupid little 10 year olds
If Linus managed to find a GTX 1060 for around $200 to 250, he would've for sure won. Because the Xeon was already cutting down the 1070's performance.
Not a chance of finding one for that price in Canadian Dollars, even with the internet.
the 3gb model is basically going for that new, but the 6gb is quite a bit more expensive. He shoulda bought a new rx 580 but these videos were prob done as the gpu drop was happening, and stores probably were not up to date on prices.
something1random23 My bad, I'm talking about U.S dollars.
That Xeon could even handle a 1080Ti
joe but if Luke had managed to get the ssd for $10 /free and sold the 2tb hdd for $50 then Linus would still have lost, so doesn't really matter
5:07 Luke is driving a tesla, wot
Looks like a Model 3.
Look at the front windshield that is a model X
Jesus good eye just saw it now too lmao
why not ? he was part in buildung in one of the biggest tech channels on youtube, i would be seriously wondered if luke linus and the original crew were not all millionaires by now, (they literally earned it)
I'm pretty sure it's Brandon's car, Brandon drives a model X. I'm sure that Luke would have brought it up in the latest wan show talking about Linus buying a new car if it was Luke's car.
Next challenge should be building the best computer for $1000, and you have to spend as close to $1000 as possible or you loose points or something. Gets rid of what all of these SW's turn into, which is "whats the least amount of money I can build a computer for" competition that you've essentially done 3 times now.
48Connor but thats not a scrapyard war at all....thats just building a mid grade system lol
a mid grade system built on used parts. You can get more bang for the buck with used parts if you do it right.
i got a better idea. Build to a goal.
Who can get X result for the least. Let's say 100 FPS average in fortnite medium. Obviously with penalties for being too high or too low, so you have to not only manage budget but also not overdo it
Dart Maul the only penalty for being too high should be the price.
my name is connor
I liked how they weren’t overly competitive with each other because this seems more natural the previous seasons could feel a bit forced. It also really benefits the season that the episodes are shorter, it’s less filler and condenses it to the important stuff better. I felt like we didn’t see Luke so much though.
