While the USWNT may be missing many who were very important players in 2019, probably has the deepest pool of new and very promising talent for the future. I think if the corrent team has a reduced potential is because Vlatko selection, and his insistente to take Rapinoe and Lavelle even they are not 100% fit and while Rapinoe is a very experienced veteran, there are chances she can get injured in a critical moment, the same for Lavelle, at least Sauerbrunn when it was clear she was not recovered from her injury, she ruled herself out, or Vlatko may have selected her also.
Another thing about the USWNT selection hard to understand, why the hell did Vlatko selected Naeher as GK, when so far this year she has been the worst GK in the NWSL, Chicago with her on goal has been the team with most goals conceded, as soon she joined the USWNT they stoped conceding goals.

I think they are English biased, because they have more knowledge on all the English players and players that are playing or have played in the WSL. like for example they said England has the most injuries with 3 but don't realize that USA has 5 key injuries. But missing Christine Sinclair and the current Olympic Champs is crazy...

The USA paint drip one is the worst I’ve seen.. one of the worst jerseys I’ve ever seen, at least. They have really been sucking for all USA sports the last few years.. but the paint drip is so stupid. One of the worst in the tournament.
There are some things you missed in this video:
1.This Women's World Cup will be the 9th edition overall. The very first Women's World Cup in 1971 (where the final broke the record of attendances in Azteca between Denmark and Mexico) wasn't considered as the official one by FIFA. It's simply a prelude to the Women's World Cup, which was staged by FIFA 20 years later.
2.Denmark and Costa Rica were a honorable mentions, replacing Cameroon and Scotland, who were missing this edition after losing their World Cup playoffs. Denmark qualified for this tournament since 2007, while this was the second appearance for Costa Rica after the debut in 2015.
3.Both Philippines and Vietnam made their debuts in the senior level of the World Cup for both genders. Same thing happened for Zambia.
4.This is the first time that the Women's World Cup will feature a group where there are 2 teams from the same confederation other than UEFA. This happened because one of the team in Group F was reserved for the interconfederation playoff winner, which was between Conmebol and Concacaf teams. Panama will face fellow Concacaf team Jamaica, while the eventual losers Paraguay could still face the other Conmebol teams, Brazil.
5.The Women's World Cup still determines the UEFA teams to qualify for the next year's of the Olympics, including France for this case. If England finished at least semifinal, it's quite impossible because IOC still recognized Great Britain as the member and it might require a special agreement between 4 UK nations.
6.Group H (Germany, Morocco, South Korea, Colombia) was the unusual one, as all four teams were the runner-up of the continental championship from 4 continents (Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America).

I think UEFA will only limit this new competition for the men's side, but it turns out that the women's side will also be held.
But as you may know, UEFA had made a big changes because of the recent qualification in Euro and World Cup, where some peoples criticized the usage of old format, which caused a big disparity between two countries. Most notably, you can see how Latvia got smacked 20-0 by the Lionesses England in World Cup preliminaries.

If Vietnam manages to go through the group stage and win a round of 16, it will be the single most unbelievable story of this world cup.
Uh, if VN even gets one point in the Group stage, I'd be pleasantly surprised. I predict a 13-0 score in the opener vs the US.
Vietnam had just lost 0-9 against Spain, which came several days after they almost made a shock win over Germany that somehow lost 2-3 to Zambia.
And that's why it would be unbelievable, the greatest upset of any WC

Recently, this team had produced one of the biggest upset in women's game against Euro finalist Germany. They even almost won with the scoreline being 2-0, before the Germans equalised in the extended injury time. As it looked like the game was tied, the Zambians scored a winning goal on the very last seconds of the game!
The Germans also struggled a lot against Vietnam, only winning 2-1. Showed that both men's and women's team were messing up.
I think after this dismal friendlies, Germany will not even go further to at least semifinal.
This is going to be the best World Cup ever, just like Qatar. Expect a huge surprises in this edition. In 2011, Japan defeated Germany, Sweden, and USWNT to win the World Cup, only after this country was devastated by earthquakes and tsunami four months prior.
Vietnam is super inconsistent but I can only pray.

Really interesting to watch, i enjoyed but there are a good number of misinformation and some key players that weren't mentioned. Seems a bit that most of the knowledge is focus on England or current/previous WSL players.
Rachel Daly played forward for the Houston Dash before returning to England, so it wasn't such a revolutionary move for her. The biggest USA injury loss is Mallory Swanson, not Catarina Macario. But Swanson didn't sign with Chelsea, so she doesn't count, right? And the best remaining USA player probably is Sophia Smith, who you should remember because she scored the only U.S. goal in the Wembley friendly. It's as though NWSL doesn't exist.
Is the usual problem with Europeans, they ignore the NWSL when is by far the most competitive women's league in the world.

Great question. I've seen a fair amount of her Houston games, she is versatile. She developed her game over the years to be a complete footballer. Her finishing has been noticeably improving the last 2-3 years especially aerially imo.
Same problem with Crystal Dunn she is a fantastic attacking midfielder for club but the USWNT insist to play her as a LB/LWB.
I had never understood why their NT have regularly played both as LB/LWB when clearly both are much better as midfielders/forwards
Used to Enjoy the women's football because there was often no added time for diving, pulling players, general cheating and swearing and arguing with the referee. The last few England ladies matches I saw a lot of this now. Sad.

Tickets are so cheap. I looked at ticket prices for my country's games. They start at $80 for group games and go up. Depends on your definition of cheap. Problem is time. Agreed. Great idea by Fifa to stage it as far away from Europe, where the fan base is , as possible. Look at men’s hockey and women’s hockey. No thanks. The USA has an easy route to the semi finals. Women's football is definitely improving and here to stay, but the overhyping of the game does get tiresome. Attendances for England games and the cup final are impressive, but the average WSL attendances would shame the national league, and are inflated anyway due to the odd game staged at a big PL stadium. The constant talk of equal pay doesn't help, including the almost false reporting of the how the US women's team got their equal bonuses is just boardering on propaganda. (The US women lost the actual court case, but the US federation were basically shamed into sharing prize money).
The us men aren’t winning anything notable anytime soon so they dont deserve the amount they’re paid.

Women's football is definitely improving. the average WSL attendances would shame the national league, and are inflated anyway due to the odd game staged at a big PL stadium. How can more fans go to womens games, when they cant play in PL stadiums, because the clubs wont let them ? Ever thought of that? If they are stuck in 10 to 15,000 seaters, thats the most they will get. Ive an idea. At 3pm on saturdays, the women play in the PL stadiums , and the PL clubs play in the training grounds. What would happen? Would 60,000 go to watch Chelsea women v Arsenal? Maybe. But i'll guarantee there would be riots in the streets by the male fans. Something you dont see from fans of womens football. Why are they rioting? They are only being treated the way women are currently being treated. Not so much fun now, is it?

You looked at the previous season which comes up top on Google. They won 33 lost 1 in 34 games this time in the league.
The problem is that Barcelona stats in the Spanish women's league look incredible, but in reality the Spanish women's league is dominated in a ridiculous way by Barcelona, the rest of the teams go from just a few good teams at best to crappy teams for the rest.

rights were added in to that, as a bundle , for free. Now, Fifa has decided to have the bids separate . Personally, i think Fifa have shot themselves in the foot. The fact that it is in Oceana ( Australia ) which is on the other side of the world to the main football fan base, Europe , does not help them. Time differences mean that most games will be roughly 8.30 am to 9.30 am kick offs. Everyone is at work by that time. So the games will be recorded and watched in the evening. And fans will fast forward through the adverts. Not something the tv companies want. The tv companies have said that no one will watch it because its the WWC. Wrong again. This is the closest WWC ever , and one billion watched the last one. Support for the WWC has grown a lot, and it is possible that the viewership could double. Maybe not live viewers, but recorded games. Add into the pot that the tv companies probably over bid for the mens WC, and the tv companies are skint, and trying every excuse to get the WWC on the cheap. " the TV deals and them complaining about not getting enough." It is Fifa who decide on which bids they will accept. The women have nothing to do with that. Fifa have a moral and legal duty to try and get ' at least ' a respectable amount for the tv rights. One tv company offered £1 million for the rights. Thats after paying over £100 million for Qatar rights. Some tv companies paid £160 million for Qatar. They could easily bid £150 million , and use the other £10m for the WWC. You could blame the tv companies for the greed to get the rights in Qatar, and the fear if they do not get them. Fifa just accept the highest bid . " Be profitable first " . The mens game was here first. By 100 years. Although the billions in money didnt start getting into the game in about 2000. The womens game has to try and carve out a niche in a market that has a solid base. They had no stadiums to play at, no funding, no training , no tv rights , no fans. They are starting from nothing , with nothing , against the most popular game in the world. That is not easy. So saying ' be profitable ' is way easier than the women actually ' being ' profitable, when it is so difficult. Lets try another angle. The amount of money in the mens game is huge. Billions. The womens game is still building and could take until the next WWC to be profitable. They do not need a huge amount of money to improve. A tiny amount would do. Lets say 1%. Just 1% of the amount the mens game gets each year, would be more than the womens game would need. You pay taxes. For roads , schools, the gov, the military etc. You might not ' use ' any of those. So why not use 1% from the mens game to help the sport of football build up? There is so much money , obscene amounts if we are being honest , that i'll bet they wouldnt even notice the 1% going. Hope this all helps :)

It's almost like the TV right are influenced not only by the interest on the women game but also by the timezone.
In 2002 Italy, that Italy that started as one of the favorites, had problems buying the broadcasting rights beciase the world cup was in Korea and Japan.
I will watch but the 1st mention on TV of climate change, pride , the war in ykw or wages for females at club level being unjust and I'm off and won't be back until August when what used to be proper football begins

If you really believe that the US will be led by the OFs, Rapinoe and Morgan, then my advice would be to bet AGAINST the US. I would also suggest that you start following the best league in the world, the NWSL. If you did, you would not make such foolish statements about the US team. I know that I'm a contrarian, but I have actually been watching the games, and neither has been a factor of late.. My prediction on England is 4th, as my guess is that they will do well in the beginning, but will fade over the last week.

the women should take in what the market deems. The market is Fifa. They decide how all the prize money is shared out. not the amount scream and whine about. As far as i know, only one team whined about it, and thats the Uswnt. Funny that, the Usa men cant get out of their group, but get paid more , than the other Usa team who win it. Four times so far.
