An absolute blessing to be able to watch this and “remember when we were together”. Miss Mark, miss Leon, miss Honey but I am eternally grateful for enjoying so many utterly fantastic times with them, and with the Leonlifers!
I'm 42 and recall my parents talking about Leon frequently. We are from Tulsa. I was aware of his radio hits growing up, but I have recently taken a deep dive into him and now truly appreciate how special he was.
@Nephi: Lost this due to a rare hard drive failure, so I am sooooo grateful that you and Mark maintained this stuff! I miss the both of you very much. Thank you once again.
No one has forgotten Mark, as a matter of fact, John posted today for the Lifers! We are all getting ready for another Lifer event come April 1st in Tulsa,… You would love what Teresa has done with the Church Studio! Lots of folks will be thinking about you at the Shindig Mark ~ Rest In Peace Brother🌹🌅❣️ps tell Honey I wished I could have meet her🌹‼️
That was a REALLY NICE GESTURE ELTON JOHN DID. MAKING THAT RECORD TOGETHER BROUGHT LEON BACK OUT IN THE SPOT LIGHT AGAIN!!! 💥 A TRUE AMERICAN TREASURE. 🥧🍎
when He would come to Montreal Canada I would go see him. I remember him coming with Joe Cocker and he had a white piano and that top hat he I was in love with him loved his eyes
A hard rain was going to fall qas Dylans best among thousands ge gas written. The recording in this was lousy , what with Leons voice, i still couldn't figure out his voice ? !
I thougjt Leon was a truely free man. How i was wrong ! He opens this show with this song. Only, he has a shaggy beard and very long and shaggy hair. I first saw him in Tulsa in 1972. I loke jis style only it took me a long tome to get comfortable with his accent amd tone of his voice. To me he's a Hippie from from Okihomie ! Such marrow sight and mind he has. He married a black woman on top of that ,WTF ! I thought i knew him holely shit ! I ain't watching anymore of his videos, my friends feels the same. I bought one of his first albums, that was a blue picture framed with him sitting backward in a chair, with that great top hat. I have worn top hats since in memory of him from back then. No more from now on. My Hummingbird flew away today ! I'll need to find another with no redness around the neck. Chao !
@@Evpat2000---UNFORTUNATELY, SOME OF LEON'S VOCALS IN THIS SHOW ARE PRETTY RAGGED, BUT I STILL ENJOYED WATCHING AND LISTENING TO THIS...I HAD THE GOOD FORTUNE TO CHAT W. THE MOSAT OVER THE YEARS, ESPECIALLY LATER IN HIS TOURING CAREER. LEON BLAMED HIS RASPY VOCALS ON ALL THE SCREAMING HE DID IN THE EARLY YEARS. HE WAS STILL ONE OF MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ARTISTS!!!
The one and only Leon, the Master Of Space and Time. Thanks for giving us a lifetime of your music🎹🎸📸🤗
Thank you for sharing this beautiful footage of Leon. A real legend and full of grace.

Hello friend, I also ended up becoming a fan of Leon Russell for a while now.
Truly an America musical icon. Good to see this talent passed on to his daughter. R.I.P. Leon.
I really love this & as Leon💜 would say "bless your hearts"
Ditto... (hallelujah)

This was Great cool😊 Thanks
It was so far out !
what a phenomenal musician and songwriter he was. why was he in such poor health at 62.
Great musician but boy, he was one old 62.
What is the name of the song at 17:40 ? (after "Wild Horses")
"Hummingbird". Leon wrote it and a bunch of people covered it. (I first heard it by BB King)
He wrote Hummingbird and Pisces Apple Lady for Chris O'Dell, an assistant at Apple Studios that he dated after Rita Coolidge broke up with him.
Hummingbird, BB does a hell of version, great song, jűs sāyīn !😎✌️😎!
could someone tell me the name of the first song he did..... please
I’ve just seen a face, A Beatles song.
