This has taken me back to 1970 and early 1980s when we used to recite it daily at 4 AM sharp in Ganesh temple at the start of predrekshna of holy Hatiparbat and after Aarti etc our team of young and old would make a Prabhat Pheri around the hillock while singing bhajans and Leelas through out and doing Pooja at various temples falling entoute upto Kathidarwaza where the team would disperse. Some people would go towards Rainawari and some would proceed towards downtown while others would proceed to uptown Stinagar. Alas, those days, I am sure will never return in my life. This cultural richness has been snatched from us.our children are no longer interested because they have got Punjabi folk and other forms of dancing and music numbers.
There used to be a regular night Jagran at the Chakreshwar Hari Parbat in front of the Divine "Shilla" in every Saturday. The Sacred Hymns from the Panchastavi were recited by the devotees throughout the night besides other Hymns in praise of the Divine Mata. With the passage of time ,particularly the advent of terrorism, this came to an end. This Audio clip has revived those auspicious memories. Thanks and may the Divine Mata bless you all.
I heartily appreciate this Kashmiri way of reciting the Panchastavi but at the same time would like to say that the Sanskrit pronunciation is not correct and the text is not started from teh 1st verse of the 1st Tava. The Kashmiri part authored by Posh e Bab is soothing to ears....Aahee!
Kindly tell me how how this version and other version sung by naina saproo and girija pandit. There are many subtle differences. Is their text for all versions so we can buy?
